If you didn't pay a lot of attention to these teams, you would assume that this was a nice, intense rivalry. Both teams have been strong at times over the last decade, so you would guess that there have been some real showdowns. In fact, it's the worst kind of rivalry - a very lopsided one. The Gators have won the last 11 meetings between the squads. If you consider what the last few years have looked like for the Gators, that is very embarrassing for the guys in orange.

Week 3 in the college football season was a great one. The marquee games told us a lot about teams we weren't sure about before that contest. Louisville is the real deal. Lamar Jackson is the clear Heisman frontrunner now. Ohio State went to Oklahoma and beat down the Sooners. The young Buckeyes are supremely talented, and they look to be ahead of the curve. The Big 12 has been the big loser so far this year as far as conferences go. Week 4 has less marquee matchups, but I feel like college football always delivers fans some terrific games.

I certainly get more picks right than wrong overall in a season, but boy was last week ugly. I had Florida State winning at Louisville and Oklahoma taking out visiting Ohio State, but the Seminoles and Sooners were blown out. Not shocked both teams lost as they played excellent opponents, but how they did was pretty stunning.

I touched on the huge matchup between No. 2 Florida State and No. 10 Louisville on Monday, so I won't rehash that -- although the Seminoles got bad news this week when arguably their best defensive player, safety Derwin James, was ruled out 5-7 weeks following surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee -- in this space. I liked FSU -2.5 on Monday and still do at the current line of -1.5.

The ACC was supposed to be so simple and straightforward this year. Clemson and Florida State were the two best teams, and it wasn't even close. They were supposed to just bide their time until they played each other, and the winner of that game would head to the playoff. That's what the ACC has been recently.

It's funny how things work out. Before the season started, Lamar Jackson, Louisville's QB, wasn't more than a fringe player in Heisman discussions. The big boys were all lined up, and it didn't seem like there was room for any outsiders like Jackson among the blue bloods - Watson, McCaffrey, Fournette, Cook. Two weeks into the season, though, some of those guys - most notably Deshaun Watson - have faded, and Jackson is not only in the mix but the runaway leader at this early stage of things.

This is a whale of a game for the third week of the season. Unfortunately, it's not nearly as good as it could have been if Oklahoma hadn't already suffered a loss at the hands of Houston on the opening weekend. It's still a massive game, though.

Last week's slate of games wasn't very good. There weren't marquee matchups for fans to get excited about, but Week 3 has plenty of those! How did Top 25 teams do against the number last week? There were 11 teams who covered and 11 who failed to cover. There was one game that never had a line at all. Florida State pounded Charleston Southern, but that game had no line likely due to the suspension of so many Charleston Southern players for that game. Arguably the worst contract in college football among head coaches entering the 2015 season belonged to Iowa's Kirk Ferentz. Plus, I think the state had to make him governor or something if Ferentz was canned. It was a Charlie Weis-level (Notre Dame version) ridiculous deal.

Up until the early 1990s, this matchup was an annual rivalry as both teams were members of the Southwest Conference. It was definitely lopsided towards Arkansas, though in the second last game in 1990 TCU pulled off a bit of a stunner, winning by 28 as two-touchdown road underdogs. They haven't played since 1991 when Arkansas left the SWC for the SEC and set off the conference shuffling that is still underway today.

Bristol Motor Speedway seats 153,000 for NASCAR events, and organizers are hoping about that many will attend this game, which will take place on artificial turf installed in the infield.
