The CFL (Canadian Football League) is back in 2026! The regular season is scheduled to start on June 4, 2026 and end on October 24, 2026, with playoff games beginning on October 31, 2026. The Grey Cup will take place on November 15th, 2026, from Calgary. It will be interesting to see if the Saskatchewan Roughriders can repeat as Grey Cup Champions.

Not huge fan of laying more than one score in CFL but the disparity between these two has us making an exception. The Alouettes are the best team in CFL and facing banged up Hamilton without star QB Bo Levi Mitchell. Take Montreal to win and cover tonight.

7-Unit Play. Take #693 Hamilton +10 at Montreal (7 p.m., Sunday, July 26)Really big line here on Montreal in the 9.5 to 10 range. Hamilton lost at home to Montreal 30-27 to open up their season. Since then the Tiger-Cats have allowed 27 points or less in 4 of their 5 games and based on points allowed have been one of the better defenses in the league this season. The Ti-Cats can move to 4-3 and drop the Alouettes to 5-2 with a win here so this is a huge game in the East Division from the perspective of Hamilton. The Als beat the Tiger-Cats 19-16 in the Division Finals last season so there is a ton of motivation here for Hamilton and I will grab the big points here. Keep in mind, Tre Ford looked really good last week for the Ti-Cats with more than 200 yards passing and more than 100 yards rushing. Also, it was good for Hamilton in seeing some of the other receivers stepping up last week so the passing attack is looking much more balanced now. Certainly Montreal is a strong time but they have had issues defensively this season and, because of that, I just don't see them as being able to pull away to win this game by double digits. Truly an upset alert here and worst case, the way I see it, would be a Tiger-Cats loss by just a one-score margin. The Alouettes will face some struggles here too as the Ti-Cats D has been very good in limiting big plays (against both the pass and run) this season. Tight game all the way the way I see it. 7* HAMILTON +10

7-Unit Play: Take Hamilton +10 over Montreal (7 p.m., Sunday, July 26)
I’m betting we get a highly competitive game on Sunday night in Montreal. Yes, the Alouettes’ offense seems to be scoring at will but I’m not a fan of the Als’ defense. Hamilton’s offense looked much better once Tre Ford took over at QB for Jake Dolegala who looked to be in over his head, making one bad decision after another. Of course, Dolegala had been playing since Bo Levi Mitchell was lost to injury. But Ford gave the Ti Cats a serious spark. He can pass and better yet, he frustrates defenses with his running ability and that spells trouble for Montreal. These teams went to OT in Hamilton in week-1 before Montreal won 30-27 as a 2.5-point favorite. They’re laying a lot of points here and I don’t believe they’ll slow Tre Ford and the Ti Cats offense. I'm grabbing the Hamilton Tiger-Cats at +10 and pairing it with the over in tonight's East Division matchup at Percival Molson Stadium. Getting double-digit points with a Hamilton squad that already pushed Montreal to overtime in Week 1 is way too much value to pass up. With Tre Ford under center, the Ti-Cats offense brings a dynamic dual-threat element that keeps opposing pass rushes honest and opens up big-play opportunities downfield. Hamilton's veteran receiving corps has no problem creating separation, and Ford's mobility allows him to extend plays when the pocket breaks down, which is crucial for keeping drives alive and hanging within striking distance. Montreal is solid on both sides of the ball, but covering a 10-point spread against a divisional rival that knows them this well is a steep ask. As for the total, both of these offenses operate at a fast tempo and excel at generating explosive plays in the secondary. When you combine Ford's ability to stretch the field with Montreal's potent high-scoring attack, both teams should have plenty of success moving the chains and finding the end zone. Expect a fast-paced, back-and-forth battle where Hamilton scores enough to stay within the double-digit line and comfortably pushes this game over the total.
