FIFA Club World Cup Soccer Best Bets with Expert Predictions

The Club World Cup has expanded to 32 teams for the 2025 edition of the tournament, which promises to dial up the intensity of this often-overlooked tournament. The best club teams from around the world will travel to the Untied States for this monthlong tournament, and there are a handful of best bets that stick out in the group stage. The top two teams from each of the eight groups will advance to the knockout stage. Many people will focus on who will win this tournament, but the sharper plays are often in the group stage featuring teams that may have been overlooked.

Without further ado, here are the eight Club World Cup groups broken down, with best bets for how to attack these summer festivities.
Group A: (Odds to win group/Odds to advance)
FC Porto: +137/-220
Palmeiras: +175/-190
Inter Miami CF +333/+150
Al Ahly Cairo: +900/+200
Group A is the only group with a plus money price tag on all four teams to top the quartet, and every one of these games will be fascinating encounters. FC Porto are the slight favorites to win and advance, but it wouldn’t be surprising to see Palmeiras punch their ticket after dominating the South American competition. The Brazilian side has no shortage of young talent, and I expect them to top the group when it is all said and done. In second place, it may seem tempting to pull the trigger on Lionel Messi and Inter Miami, but the American side has truly struggled domestically and this is a steep step up in competition. Instead, we will swing for the fences with Al Ahly Cairo to sneak into second place behind Palmeiras. This Egyptian side has won the African Champions League in three of the last four years and has done surprisingly well at the previous Club World Cups too. Their ability to rise to the occasion should allow them to pick up a victory against a fragile Inter Miami side. If they can steal a point from either Porto or Palmeiras, their +200 odds to advance will age nicely.
Best Bets: Palmeiras to win the Group +175 and Al Ahly Cairo to advance +200, 9/10 Confidence
Group B: (Odds to win group/Odds to advance)
Paris Saint-Germain: -130/-400
Atletico Madrid: +150/-250
Botafogo: +1000/+150
Seattle Sounders: +2000/+300
The opening match between PSG and Atletico Madrid will likely determine who wins this group, and it is hard to overlook the reigning UEFA Champions League winners. PSG is -400 to pick up at least a point in that match, and Atletico Madrid will not be able to keep up with the French side offensively. PSG has looked unstoppable on both ends of the field, and even at -130 they are a great pick to win this group. The second place slot is where things get interesting. Atletico Madrid is -250 to advance, but that is far too steep a price tag considering they will need four, if not six points from Seattle and Botafogo. Seattle will struggle in this continental competition, but Botafogo is a strong side that has had a recent resurgence over the last nine months. We aren’t getting long enough odds to take them to qualify at +150, but certainly stay away from Ateltico Madrid at these inflated prices.
Best Bet: PSG to win the Group -130, 8/10 Confidence
Group C: (Odds to win group/Odds to advance)
Bayern Munich: -200/-1300
Benfica: +300/-230
Boca Juniors: +400/+120
Auckland City: +10000/+3300
The betting odds imply this is the most straightforward group of the Club World Cup. Bayern Munich are heavy favorites to run away with the group and have -195 odds to collect 7 or more points. It is hard to argue with these odds considering their dominance in Germany, and even at -200 they could be worth a stab to win the group. Things get interesting for second place, as Benfica and Boca Juniors will both fancy their chances at finishing second. Auckland City is an amateur side, and they will get smashed in all three games and finish with 0 points. It is surprising to see Benfica and Boca Junior’s odds to top the group so close while their qualification odds are very different. Boca Juniors is one of the best teams in South America, and their level of competition is not far off that of Benfica’s in Portugal. Taking the plus-money price for Boca Juniors to advance is the only reasonable option here.
Best Bet: Boca Juniors to Advance +120, 6/10 Confidence
Group D: (Odds to win group/Odds to advance)
Chelsea: -175/-700
Flamengo: +225/-250
LAFC: +600/+137
Esperance de Tunis: +4000/+800
Chelsea had an up and down season across the pond this year, but they appear to have a straightforward path into the knockout stages. Esperance de Tunis will struggle in this competition, and it is hard to envision LAFC putting up much of a fight, either. The squad depth for the West London team will give them a huge advantage as tired legs are bound to catch up to teams at this stage of the season. Flamengo has the potential to challenge Chelsea at the top of the group, but the best pick to make is on them to qualify at -250. This is a chunky price to pay, but a negative result against either of the two teams expected to finish at the bottom would be a huge surprise for the red-hot Brazilian side. If you don’t want to lay -250 on a future, you can also parlay this pick with any of the other group stage bets provided for a juicy payout.
Best Bet: Flamengo to Advance -250, 8/10 Confidence
Group E: (Odds to win group/Odds to advance)
Inter Milan: -250/-800
River Plate: +225/-300
Urawa Red Diamonds: +1600/+300
Monterrey: +2000/+300
Inter Milan was embarrassed in the Champions League Final last week, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t capable of beating teams of this quality. Their ability to break in transition has allowed them to find positive results against stiff competition, and they will be far more comfortable with this quartet than mighty PSG. River Plate is a strong Argentinian side, but they haven’t played a competitive match against a team of Inter Milan’s quality in decades. However, the bet to make in this group is all about Monterrey. Monterrey is the strongest CONCACAF side in the competition, and they have a unique blend of young talents with aging superstars. Sergio Ramos is a leader both on and off the pitch, and there is no reason the gap behind River Plater should be so wide. Inter Milan will probably finish on top, but for the value we have to sprinkle on Monterrey to win the group, too. You don’t find odds like these on such a mouthwatering prop very often.
Best Bet: Monterrey to win the Group +2000 and to Advance +300, 9/10 Confidence
Group F: (Odds to win group/Odds to advance)
Borussia Dortmund: -200/-1200
Fluminense: +200/-400
Ulsan Hyundai: +1200/+300
Mamelodi Sundowns: +2500/+500
The odds imply this is a straightforward group, and I would have to say I agree. Borussia Dortmund is miles ahead of the other three in this group, and anything short of seven points would be a massive surprise. Their ability to attack down either flank or up the middle will terrorize these defenses, and they could easily go on to score 10+ goals in this group. Fluminense has -400 odds to qualify, but this is a shocking price tag. They have finished in the middle of Brazil’s Serie A for the last half-decade, and don’t have the depth for a tournament like this. Ulsan Hyundai and Mamelodi Sundowns will not be turning heads. However, in a battle at the bottom of the group, one of them just may sneak in alongside Borussia Dortmund. Let’s spice things up here with Fluminense NOT to qualify.
Best Bet: Fluminense NOT to Qualify +275, 7/10 Confidence
Group G: (Odds to win group/Odds to advance)
Manchester City: -250/-2500
Juventus +200/-700
Al Ain SCC: +2500/+450
WAC Casablanca: +5000/+1200
You have to feel for Al Ain SCC and WAC Casablanca for being pitted against these two European giants. Manchester City and Juventus should pick up all six points against the other two teams, and it will all come down to their Matchday 3 matchup. While Manchester City has dominated Europe for years, they have seriously struggled with depth this season. If both sides have already punched their tickets to the next round, they may opt to rotate and I will happily take the Juventus backups over the English side.
Best Bet: Juventus to win the Group +200, 10/10 Confidence
Group H: (Odds to win group/Odds to advance)
Real Madrid: -700/-2500
Al Hilal Riyadh: +800/+125
FC Salzburg: +900/+125
Pachuca: +2000/+250
Real Madrid have won the Club World Cup five times in their history, while only three other teams have won this competition more than once. Real Madrid are the obvious favorites to win the group, but it is a real dogfight for second place. Al Hilal Riyadh has several European stars on their roster and has the edge in top end talent compared to FC Salzburg and Pachuca. Salzburg has youth on their side, but the bright lights of the Club World Cup could cause them to shrivel under the pressure. Al Hilal has a lovely combination of experience and youth and are the best pick you can make in a group you should probably just stay away from.
Best Bet: Al Hilal Riyadh to Advance +125, 5/10 Confidence
