2026 New York Yankees Predictions with Odds to Win World Series and Futures Picks

The New York Yankees were primed for another deep playoff run before they were knocked out by their division rival Toronto Blue Jays. With revenge on their mind, they will enter the new season with a lot of question marks in their rotation, as well as an injury prone lineup, there is a lot to answer early on in the season for this roster. The outfield is set to be one of the best units in the league if they can stay healthy, but this lineup won’t have enough firepower for a World Series appearance without the help from a strong rotation. Not only are there injuries, but the Red Sox are also looking to avenge their postseason series loss to New York. Let’s see what the new campaign has in store for the Yankees.

Summary of Last Season
As mentioned, the Yankees were one of the best teams in the league, but they failed to reach the World Series. They took the wild card series from Boston, then they dropped the ALDS to Toronto. In the ALDS the Yankees finished with a -15-run differential in four games. Their +164-run differential was the second-best mark in the regular season, and the Yankees ended the regular season with a 94-68 record. Their 94-68 record was four games below their expected record of 98-64, though they did struggle in close games posting a 29-30 record in one-run games or games that went into extra innings.
The Yankees led the league in runs, OPS, walks, and homeruns, while finishing eighth in stolen bases. Aaron Judge led the team with a 9.7 WAR after another MVP season. He finished the season with 53 homeruns, 114 RBIs, 12 stolen bases, and a .331 AVG. Cody Bellinger finished fourth on the team with 29 homeruns, while adding 98 RBIs, 13 stolen bases, and a 5.0 WAR. Jazz Chisholm Jr. and Trent Grisham also had solid seasons as the two combined for a 7.7 WAR after finished second and third in homeruns on New York. Chisholm finished third on the team in homeruns (31), third in RBIs (80), and first in stolen bases (31). Grisham finished second on the team with 34 homeruns, while they added 74 RBIs and recorded a .811 OPS.
The Yankees finished 14th in ERA, 10th in quality starts, 12th in WHIP, and 25th in walks. In the absence of Gerrit Cole, the dynamic duo of Max Fried and Carlos Rodon led the way for the pitching staff. They tied for the team lead with 195.1 innings pitched, while Rodon narrowly won the WAR race between the two. Rodon finished with a 4.6 WAR, while Fried finished with a 4.5 mark. Rodon ended the regular season with an 18-9 record, recording 18 quality starts, 203 strikeouts, and a 3.09 ERA. Fried finished with a 19-5 record, with 20 quality starts, and a 2.86 ERA. Devin Williams struggled last season in the closer role. He led the team with 18 saves, but he posted a 4.79 ERA in 62 innings. Tim Hill was the best bullpen arm last season after finished with a 3.09 ERA, a 1.1 WAR, and just 16 walks in 67 innings.
Key Additions/Losses
After getting pummeled in the ALDS, the Yankees saw Williams, Luke Weaver, Allan Winans, and Austin Slater hit the free agent market. They also declined the option on reliever Jonathan Loaisiga, and they later non-tendered relievers Jake Cousins, Mark Leiter Jr, Ian Hamilton, and Scott Effross.
The team later added infielder Paul DeJong, starting pitcher Ryan Weathers, outfielder/first baseman Seth Brown, reliever Dylan Coleman, pitcher Osvaldo Bido, reliever Rafael Montero, outfielder Randal Grichuk, and utility man Max Schuemann.
Prospect Outlook
While this is an aging roster and they are in the midst of their winning window, their farm system is incredibly weak. They rank 23rd in the league with their prospect pipeline. They do have four prospects ranked inside the Top 100. Infielder George Lombard Jr. is their highest rated prospect, coming in at 32nd on the list. Following Lombard are two right-handed pitching prospects in Carlos Lagrange (79th) and Elmer Rodriguez (82nd), both of whom are expected to have an impact on the major league club this season. Shortstop Dax Kilby is the fourth prospect in the MLB Top 100 rankings, coming in at 94th.
X-Factors
The Rotation- Cole is going to miss the beginning of the season and Rodon is also out for some time. This leaves Fried as the leading starter for the rotation with a load of young, unproven arms working behind him. While Cole and Rodon will end up contributing to the rotation at some point, the arms in place need to do their job through the first six to eight weeks of the season. The front office may need to add another high-level starter before the deadline in order to boost their postseason chances but also take the workload off their three-headed, injury prone, top-line starters.

2026 New York Yankees Predictions:
The Yankees and Red Sox will be an exciting race to follow throughout the course of the regular season. The Yankees have a solid lineup in place again this season, with an interesting wild card in Jasson Rodriguez, but the rotation will be weak through the first two months of the season. Judge at +185 to win the MVP again is a good value pick to jump on early before the odds diminish. Fried at +1300 to win the CY Young is a great look, especially with his opportunity to lead this rotation for an extended time to begin the season. As for the win total, take the over. This is an easy over as there is no reason to believe that the Yankees have regressed, especially with a much-improved bullpen. They will be a legit World Series contender.
