2026 Philadelphia Phillies Predictions with Odds to Win World Series and Futures Picks

The Phillies secured the NL East crown once again last season, but they failed to do anything with it. Now, they look to build on their division-winning season and extend their ambitions to a pennant win and perhaps even a ring. Zack Wheeler will make it much anticipated return on the mound, and his performance could be indicative of how the season will go in Philadelphia.

Summary of Last Season
Last season the Philadelphia Phillies secured the NL East crown after a strong regular season where they finished with a 96-66 record. The Phillies finished 13 games over the second place Mets in the division standings, and they finished with a +130-run differential. Most of their success came at home, where they posted an MLB best 55-26 home record. Their season met it’s end in the NLDS, after they were dominated by the Dodgers in four games.
They had a strong lineup that constantly gave their pitching staff a cushion. The Phillies finished the regular season ranked eighth in runs, second in hits, ninth in homeruns, 12th in stolen bases, and fourth in OPS. Trea Turner led all Phillies hitters with a 5.5 WAR. He finished the regular season with 15 homeruns, 36 stolen bases, 94 runs, and seven triples. Kyle Schwarber was second on the team with a 4.7 WAR after hitting 56 homeruns, recording 132 RBIs, and finishing the season with an elite .928 OPS. Bryce Harper was the only other Philadelphia hitter to hit over 20 homeruns last season, finishing with 27. Bryson Stott joined Turner as the only other Phillies player to steal more than 20 bases, tallying 24.
As for the pitching staff, they were extremely dominant. They finished eight in the league with a team ERA of 3.79, led the league with 84 quality starts, and 10th in WHIP. Cristopher Sanchez put together an incredible season last year, leading the Phillies with an 8.0 WAR. He recorded a team best 202 innings pitched, 22 quality starts, and 2.50 ERA. Jesus Luzardo finished second on the team with 183.2 innings pitched, while recording a 3.92 ERA, and leading the team with 216 strikeouts. Ranger Suarez and Wheeler combined to post a 9.7 WAR, with Wheeler recording a 2.71 ERA and Suarez allowed just 14 homeruns in 157.1 innings.
Key Additions/Losses
At the end of their season, the Phillies had Suarez, Walker Buehler, Jordan Romano, Max Kepler, David Robertson, Harrison Bader, and Daniel Robert all became free agents. They later traded Matt Strahm to Kansas City and released Nick Castellanos.
As for the additions, they signed outfielder Bryan De La Cruz, reliever Trevor Richards, pitcher Bryse Wilson, reliever Brad Keller, reliever Jonathan Hernandez, outfielder Adolis Garcia, reliever Genesis Cabrera, reliever Zach Pop, pitcher Tucker Davidson, infielder/outfielder Dylan Moore, and catcher Rene Pinto. Philadelphia also traded for infielder Carter Kieboom.
Prospect Outlook
The Phillies are in the midst of their winning window, and with that they have not been super focused on stocking their farm system. Their minor league talent ranks 17th in the MLB, with three players ranked inside in the MLB’s Top 100 Rankings. Shortstop Aidan Miller is their top prospect, ranking 23rd in the league, and his plus power potential could land him a spot in the MLB. Right-hander Andrew Painter is ranked 28th in the MLB and is expected to have a regular presence on the Phillies this season. Outfielder Justin Crawford is ranked 53rd and he is also expected to reach the big leagues at some point this season.
X-Factors
The Front Office- The Phillies have three top-level prospects that they could dangle to further round out this team for a deep fall run. They have the starting pitching and the elite batter presence in order to compete in the fall, but their bullpen and depth remain to be huge concerns. Wheeler is another X-Factor in his own right as the team is significantly weaker without him producing like normal. The front office needs to be prepared for this and pay up to add a top of the line starting pitcher to fill any gaps. The bullpen will be anchored by Jhoan Duran, but the remainder of the bullpen is a huge question mark. The front office will need to address that before the deadline, and that may lead to a trade of one of their starters or top prospects.

2026 Philadelphia Phillies Predictions
At +1500, there is some value in taking a non-Dodgers team to win the World Series. A Sanchez/Luzardo/Wheeler (healthy) could dominate any lineup in the playoffs, and they have guys like Harper, Schwarber, and Turner who know what it takes to produce at the plate in October. The division race may be much closer as the Mets made improvements to their team over the offseason, but the Phillies should still take the crown (+185), and with that they will have no issues winning 90+ games. The Dodgers are loaded, but don’t sleep on the Phillies.
