2026 San Francisco Giants Predictions with Odds to Win World Series and Futures Picks

A full season of Rafael Devers and another season of Logan Webb headline what, should be, an interesting season for the San Francisco Giants. The Giants now have one of the best offensive-minded middle infields in the MLB, while there is an exciting prospect on the way to further boost the offensive prowess of the lineup. They are still deep in the shadows of the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NL West, but don’t sleep on the Giants who could emerge as a real threat come playoff time.
Doc’s Sports offers MLB expert picks for every game on our baseball predictions page.
Summary of Last Season
Last season was incredibly underwhelming for a Giants team that has been scratching and clawing at another chance in the playoffs, though they keep falling short. With their 81-81 finish last season, they finished third in the NL West, 12 games behind the Dodgers, and posted a +21-run differential. Despite ending the season on a four-game winning streak, the Giants ultimately fell two games short of the final wild card spot, missing the playoffs once again.
The Giants lacked runs last season, which kept them from the playoffs. They finished 17th in runs, 28th in doubles, 19th in homeruns, 29th in stolen bases, and 22nd in OPS. Matt Chapman led the team with a 4.1 WAR after recording 21 homeruns and 61 RBIs and handling the hot corner. Willy Adames was on his heels with a 3.6 WAR. Adames led the team with 31 homeruns, 87 RBIs, and 12 stolen bases despite hitting just .225. Heliot Ramos and Devers joined Adames and Chapman as the only Giants players to reach the 20-homerun milestone on the season. Devers did lead the Giants with a .807 OPS and posted 51 RBIs and 52 runs despite appearing in just 90 games for San Francisco.
The Giants’ real strength was in their pitching staff. They finished 10th in ERA with a team mark of 3.84, while also finishing eighth in quality starts and first in homeruns allowed. Logan Webb continues to define consistency. He led the team in innings pitched with 207, he had the best ERA in the rotation with a 3.22 mark, 22 of his 34 starts were quality starts, and he finished with 224 strikeouts on the year. Robbie Ray had a solid year behind him, finishing the season with a 3.65 ERA and 16 quality starts. Camilo Doval handled closing responsibilities until his midseason trade, and Ryan Walker took over for the remainder of the season. While he did record 17 saves, he finished the season with a lowly 4.11 ERA in 61.1 innings pitched. Randy Rodriguez was the most consistent reliever for the Giants as he finished the season with a 1.78 ERA in 50.2 innings of work.
Key Additions/Losses
The offseason losses were very minimal for the Giants. Justin Verlander, Wilmer Flores, Dominic Smith, and Tom Murphy all became free agents at the end of the season. The Giants would later non-tender catcher Andrew Knizner.
They did improve their roster as they try to make a return to the playoffs this season. They signed pitchers Sam Hentges, Jason Foley, and Adrian Houser while adding infielder Buddy Kennedy. San Francisco later signed pitchers Gregory Santos, Tyler Mahle, Rowan Wick, Michael Fulmer, and Nick Margevicius. The added to the lineup and position player depth by signing catcher Eric Haase, outfielder Harrison Bader, infielder Luis Arraez, and outfielder Will Brennan.
Prospect Outlook
San Francisco does not have the strongest farm system in the league. Their minor league talent ranks 19th in the league, and they have just two players listed in the MLB Top 100 Prospects Rankings. Headlining the list is first baseman Bryce Eldridge who ranks 25th. Eldridge did struggle through his first 28 at-bats in the big leagues, but with extended time to develop he is primed to have an impact on the lineup at some point this season. Eldridge might have the best power potential of any prospect right now, and the Giants could desperately use that protection around the likes of Adames, Devers, and Chapman in the lineup. Behind Eldridge is shortstop Josuar Gonzalez who is the 44th ranked prospect with top-end speed, though he is years away from contributing at the big-league level.
X-Factors
The Front Office and the San Diego Padres- The Giants will once again try to reach the playoffs in the shadow of the Dodgers. However, they are not far off from having a playoff-caliber roster. If they can start strong, and if the Padres start slow, the front office may go all in on this season and add some more elite talent to boost their chances of not only a playoff berth but also priming themselves to be a threat in the playoffs. With a rotation led by Webb, the Giants could end up being a real threat if they were able to add an elite arm behind him in the rotation. As for the lineup, they are one bat away from being a nightmare matchup any day of the week. The Giants are a wild card (literally) this season so expect them to be watching the division rivals closely, as well as their active monitoring of the trade market.

2026 San Francisco Giants Predictions
Take the over on the win total here and expect the Giants to not roll over this season. The front office showed signs of wanting to compete with the current core set in place through their offseason additions, and they have some capital to spend and further improve the holes in the roster before the deadline. They will reach 85 wins this season and should be right in the thick of the wild card race. In addition to the over on the win total, Eldridge at +1200 to win the NL Rookie of the Year is great value as he has 40+ homerun potential and could be a huge game changer for this team.
