2026 Minnesota Twins Predictions with Odds to Win World Series and Futures Picks

Minnesota is in the early stages of a rebuild heading into the new season. They have a new manager in Derek Shelton leading the bench this year as they try and establish a new identity. The Twins are already faced with big time injuries, as Pablo Lopez will miss the entire season, leaving a huge hole in the starting rotation. Lopez’s injury is incredibly ironic for a team that is full of injury prone talent like Joe Ryan, Royce Lewis, and Byron Buxton. This team could have been great at times in recent memory, but they have had a hard time keeping their core on the field.

Summary of Last Season
Last season was incredibly disappointing for Minnesota. They finished with a 70-92 record and a -95-run differential. The Twins were awful on the road, going 32-49, and they finished ahead of just their division rival Chicago White Sox in the American League. To make matters worse, they finished with a 15-27 record in one-run games and 4-11 in games that went to extra innings.
With the health issues keeping a lot of their important bats out of the lineup, the lineup severely underperformed. Minnesota finished 23rd in runs, 22nd in hits, 11th in homeruns, 16th in stolen bases, and 17th in OPS. Byron Buxton led the team with a 4.9 WAR after hitting .264 at the plate, 35 homeruns, 83 RBIs, 24 stolen bases, and a .878 OPS. Matt Wallner was the only other Minnesota player to record more than 20 homeruns (22). Harrison Bader finished second on the team with a 2.8 WAR, despite appearing in just 96 games. Third baseman Brooks Lee finished second on the team in RBIs, while outfielder Trevor Larnach finished third with 60 RBIs.
While the lineup underperformed, the pitching staff did worse. They ranked 24th in ERA with a 4.55 mark. Minnesota ranked 26th in quality starts, 25th in hits allowed, 18th in homeruns allowed, and 21st in WHIP. Ryan finished with a team best 4.5 WAR after leading the team with 171 innings pitched, 14 quality starts, 194 strikeouts, a 10.2 K/9 ratio, and a 3.42 ERA. Lopez was limited to just 14 starts last season where he posted a 2.74 ERA in 75.2 innings.
Key Additions/Losses
After the end of the season, the Twins had a few depth pieces hit the free agent market. First baseman/third baseman Jose Miranda as well as relievers Anthony Misiewicz, Genesis Cabrera, Thomas Hatch, and Michael Tonkin all hit the open market after leaving Minnesota.
As for the additions, the team added catcher Alex Jackson, first baseman Josh Bell, infielder Orlando Arcia, catcher/first baseman Victor Caratini, infielder Gio Urshela, relievers Taylor Rogers, Matt Bowman, Julian Merryweather, Liam Hendriks, Anthony Banda, Andrew Chafin, and Zak Kent. While there are some solid relievers that they added, most of these guys will be flipped at the deadline for future capital as the outlook on the 2026 campaign looks grim.
Prospect Outlook
While they rebuild their major league roster, Minnesota is relying on their farm system to boost the status of their franchise. Their farm system has four players ranked inside the MLB’s Top 100 Rankings, with the system as a whole ranking eighth in the league. 21-Year-Old outfielder Walker Jenkins ranks 14th and is Minnesota’s highest rated prospect. While he has tremendous upside, he also has injury issues which can hamper his timeline to impacting the big-league club on a consistent basis. Shortstop Kaelen Culpepper ranks 52nd in the rankings and is expected to reach the big-league level in a few years. Catcher Eduardo Tait ranks 65th in the rankings, and while the 19-year-old has some time before he reaches the MLB level, he has some elite power potential. To round out the Twins inside the Top 100 rankings is outfielder Emmanuel Rodriguez (74th).
X-Factors
The Front Office- The Twins are not going to make the playoffs this year, and they could find themselves in the basement of the AL Central. The Twins front office has some major decisions with names like Buxton, Lopez, Ryan, Lewis, and Wallner who could all be dealt ahead of this year’s trade deadline. Buxton and Ryan are sure to bring in big returns and could be market-setting moves which could further boost the current state of their farm system. They will need to continue to draft and develop well so they can return to the playoff picture sooner than later. Unfortunately, this team is going to be in for a long year, and a lot of their top players should find themselves in different uniforms by the end of the summer.
2026 Minnesota Twins Notable Odds:
Win Total: 72.5
World Series Champions- +10000
Pennant Winners- +4500
Division Winners- +900
AL MVP- Byron Buxton +8000
AL Cy Young- Joe Ryan +3000
2026 Minnesota Twins Predictions:
Minnesota missed the playoffs last season after falling 22 games below .500, marking the second straight season where they did not appear in the playoffs. Unfortunately for Twins fans, they will be facing a long summer as the team will extend its playoff absence to at least three seasons. As for the betting market and this team’s future, there is nothing to like. Buxton and Ryan have lingering injuries that could derail any potential award-winning season, and they are likely to succumb to the White Sox in the division’s standings. Minnesota will not reach the 70-win mark this season, so take the under on the win total and stay away from the Twins.
