A 10-point loss to Michigan State in the Big Ten championship game was the only thing standing between the Buckeyes and a shot at the national title last year. Urban Meyer picked up right where Jim Tressel left off and has Ohio State positioned as a perennial title contender. And this year's version should be in the mix once again.

Quarterback Braxton Miller is the triggerman for the No. 3 scoring offense in the country and is a Heisman Trophy candidate. He doesn't have a lot of experience to work with at the skill positions or along the offensive line. But this is where we find out just how well the Buckeyes have recruited and developed over Meyer's three years. Defensively the Buckeyes have seven starters back, including six guys back from one of the best front sevens in the game. But on the whole this is one of the least experienced teams in the nation.
Much like Alabama, Ohio State has benefitted from one of the easiest schedules in the country over the past two seasons. This year things are definitely tougher. Outside of a trip to Michigan State on Nov. 8 the Buckeyes do get their toughest games at home with Virginia Tech, Cincinnati and Michigan all coming to Columbus. And they avoid all of the good teams in the Big Ten West.
This Ohio State team is not as strong as last year's. And the Buckeyes also have a more challenging schedule after playing just two regular season games against Top 25 teams last year. I am not a fan of betting against Meyer. But if I had to play this one I would actually take a stab at the 'under'.
