Much like Utah out in the Pac-12, TCU has found the sledding outside of the Mountain West much tougher since stepping up in conference competition. They've gone just 11-14 combined the past two years and have been a non-factor in the Big 12 since joining prior to the 2012 season. Things are looking up for the Horned Frogs but I still question how good this program can really be.

TCU will benefit from not having to deal with Casey Paschall's drama any more. Either transfer Matt Joeckel or pseudo-wideout Trevone Boykin will be the main man on offense this year. My money is on Joeckel, and he will be working with a very experienced offense. The Horned Frogs also welcome back eight defensive starters from a unit that was better than its No. 54 scoring rank suggests.
TCU has an odd schedule compared to the rest of the Big 12. They have two byes in the first four weeks and they are forced to play eight straight. They open league play against Oklahoma (who may be looking ahead to Texas) and have three of their first four Big 12 opponents in Fort Worth. But TCU has to face two very winnable opponents (WVU and Kansas) on the road. They could lose one of those tilts.
I definitely think that there are seven wins on this schedule. TCU should start off 3-0 and I think they can win three home games in league play. That means if they can win at Kansas then the Horned Frogs will go 'over'. That's how I'd play this total.
