2014 Season Win Total Picks NCAA Football: 'Under'
Tulane lived a charmed life in 2013. They parlayed a miracle 6-2 start to a trip to the New Orleans Bowl where they lost to in-state foe Louisiana.
But now it is time to pay the piper. And Tulane's step up from Conference USA to the American Athletic couldn't have come at a worse time. The Green Wave lost their top quarterback, running back and receiver and the defense is trying to replace six starters from a group that finished a surprise No. 25 in scoring, rushing and total defense.
There are no real menacing stretches on Tulane's schedule - outside of a tough at UCF/Cincinnati/at Houston bit in the heart of the season - but Tulane also doesn't have any gimme games. They should be Southeastern Louisiana on Sept. 13. But after that the Green Wave likely won't be favored again until the regular season finale versus Temple on Dec. 6.
Most books won't release a season win total on Tulane football. I would've projected this number closer to 4.0 or 4.5. But regardless, whether the number was posted as a gift at 6.5 or at 4.0 I would easily play this team 'under' and I have them pegged for a 2-10 screamer.
