College Football Futures Prediction From Robert Ferringo:

Take Oklahoma State ‘Over’ 5.5 Wins (+135)

I am now 52-24 (69%) with my last 76 Doc’s Sports newsletter plays. We have racked up 78 of 114 wins in this space (69%) and I am 123-64 (66%) with my newsletter plays over the last 187 weeks. I am willing to give Mike Gundy the benefit of the doubt. Last season’s 3-9 mark was the worst in Gundy’s 20-year coaching career. In fact, Gundy has only had two losing seasons his entire career: his rookie season in 2005 and last year. Gundy cleaned house, bringing in 43 new scholarship players. There is a ton of uncertainty surrounding this program because of that. But it has created a value opportunity. The Cowboys will pull two easy wins in the nonconference (UT-Martin, Tulsa). That means they only need four conference wins to get this ticket cashed. They could steal road wins at either Arizona or Central Florida and have the benefit of five home games versus just four on the road. That would leave just three home wins to get them back to a bowl game. The teams picked at the bottom of the Big 12 last season all exceeded expectations and this is one that I think can do it again. Texas won the first series between these two teams and they are 5-3 in the last eight against Detroit. Texas has had to play a lot on the road over the last month and 16 of their last 22 games have been outside of their home ballpark. I think they will make a nice home underdog in this game. Take Minnesota (-1.5) over Colorado (3 p.m., Sunday, July 20)

Minnesota comes into this game 47-49 on the year and currently 2nd in the AL Central. Minnesota is in the worst division in baseball, and this team continues to hang on by a thread. The All-Star Break has been huge for this team, as they have had time to set aside and focus on what needs to be done in the second half of the season. Colorado has already thrown in the towel with a record sitting at 22-74. Colorado is 10-36 at home and 30th in baseball when it comes to runs allowed and 27th when it comes to offensive runs scored per game. This is a perfect torch for Minnesota as they struggle offensively; Colorado has no pitching to stop them. I believe Minnesota torches Colorado here and covers our 1.5-run differential.
