MLB Prediction From Jason Sharpe:

Take Toronto over Detroit (7 p.m., Thursday, May 15)

Detroit is expected to go with starter Jack Flaherty in this one. Flaherty had a huge season in 2024 for the Tigers but he's not looked like the same pitcher this year with an ERA nearly 1.50 runs higher on the season. He's coming off his worst start so far in 2025 his last time out as he gave up four home runs. That should be a cause of concern here in this one pitching in Toronto where the ball flies out of the ballpark. The Tigers are off to a fantastic start to the year but much of that reason is due to how well they've played at home thus far at 15-5 overall but away from home like they are here in this one they are just 12-10 this season. The Rockies are going to be one of the worst teams in MLB history and this should be another embarrassing loss for them. Soccer Prediction From Doc's Sports:

Take Borussia Dortmund (-2.5) over Holstein Kiel (9:30 a.m., Saturday May 17)

The last time these sides met at Signal Iduna Park in Dortmund, the home side cruised to a 5-0 victory. We feel that there is a great chance we see that type of match here. Dortmund is one point out of Champions League qualification, right behind Freiburg, and three points is crucial here. Holstein Kiel has already been relegated, so they have lost their fighting spirit here and will be preparing for their stint in the second division next season. The home side has won five straight and beat Wolfsburg 4-0 in their last home match. They should have a similar type of game here, as they need these points badly and they will not leave anything to chance as they will attack early and often against an overmatched opponent.

MLB Baseball Prediction From Strike Point Sports:

Take Tampa Bay over Miami (4 p.m. Saturday, May 17)

The Rays used to have a nice home field advantage when they were playing in their dome, but they have not been so fortunate in their temporary placement at George Steinbrenner Field. They are above 500 on the road and I think they will add another win in this matchup. Drew Rasmussen has allowed 3 earned runs in each of his last three starts, but those were against three playoff teams (Mil, Phi, KC) from a year ago and I think he can get his first win on the road against the Marlins. Edward Cabrera is scheduled to take the ball for Miami and he has always had good stuff, but he has never been able to put it all together. Cabrera has struggled with walks and home runs this year and I think Tampa Bay will be able to capitalize on his mistakes. Take the Rays in this contest.
