CarbonSports.ag Game Line: Arizona State (+12) vs. USC (-12)

The Pac-12 should be a very entertaining conference to watch over the next two months as they've got some very talented teams throughout the conference and we will see some upsets across the board. Arizona State is looking to pull off that feat a week after getting shelled at home by L.A's (UCLA) other team 62-27. The Sun Devils are in L.A this week as double-digit road dogs against USC as the Trojans aim to remain perfect in Pac-12 play.

This is a tough test for backup Sun Devils QB Mike Bercovici as he's making his first start on the road in his career and it's at the Coliseum no less. Bercovici came out of the gate strong vs. UCLA last week but the Bruins figured him out pretty quickly and forced him into tough spots with 2 INT's. The Trojans defense should have similar success against Bercovici and they are happy to face anyone but Taylor Kelly after last year's game.

Up at Arizona State last year the Sun Devils destroyed USC (62-41) as HC Lane Kiffin was fired after that loss. Kelly passed for 3 TD's and 351 yards in the game but was also Arizona State's leading rusher with 79 yards on only four attempts. With him on the shelf it's not surprising to see USC as heavy chalk, but with the revenge angle in their favor this game could get ugly in a hurry.

This is the second straight week that Arizona State is playing a Pac-12 rival that has a strong revenge angle against them. The Sun Devils beat up on UCLA in 2013 and we all know how the return match went last week. Chances are this could be a similar result for Arizona State as they are 2-9 ATS after allowing 35+ and they showed last week that they don't have the talent with Bercovici in there to keep up with a team that can rack up the points.

USC already got their wake up call this season with their loss @ Boston College and they are prepared to make some noise in the Pac-12 South this year. They've already beaten Stanford this season, avoid Oregon and could run the table in conference play if they can win @ UCLA at the end of the season. The Trojans are 6-1 ATS in their last seven at home and 7-2 ATS in their last seven vs. Pac-12 opponents. They've got a physical defense that will harrass Bercovici all evening and QB Cody Kessler should torch this questionable Sun Devils defense in a similar way to UCLA's Brett Hundley did last week.

It may seem like a lot of points to lay in a game between two 3-1 SU teams, but the revenge angle is just too strong to not lay the points here with the Trojans.
