2025 Arkansas Razorbacks Basketball Predictions and Odds to Win National Championship

Last season, the Razorbacks entered with some lofty expectations. They started the season winning 11 of their first 13 games, including big wins over Miami and #14 Michigan. However, they did lose their first five conference games, and they ended up posting a mere 8-10 record in SEC conference play. They did however pick up resume building wins against #12 Kentucky on the road, #15 Missouri, and #25 Mississippi State. Arkansas finished the regular season with a 19-12 record, and they posted a 4-7 record against Top 25 team’s last season. Arkansas won their first game against South Carolina in the conference tournament, but their road to the SEC Championship game ended in the following round as they were eliminated by Ole Miss. The committee thought they did enough, and Arkansas claimed a 10-Seed in the Big Dance. They responded well by knocking off 7-Seed Kansas and then 1-Seed St. John’s. Unfortunately, it ended there as their magic ran out in a crushing overtime loss to 3-Seed Texas Tech in the Sweet 16.
The offense wasn’t great over the course of the regular season. They averaged just 76.8 PPG, which ranked 11th in the conference. They managed to shoot over 32% from deep and they averaged 46.2% FG% on the season. They struggled on the boards at times as they ranked just 14th in the SEC in offensive RPG. Their defense was average as well as they held opponents to 71.4 PPG while shooting nearly 42%. Opponents also averaged over 31% from deep against Arkansas. The Razorbacks lowly +5.3 PPG differential mark ranked 11th in the conference, but their +4.7% FG% differential ranked fifth. Adou Thiero led the team in scoring with 15.1 PPG as he was one of four Arkansas players to average double digit PPG. Boogie Fland averaged 13.5 PPG, though his season was severely limited by injuries. Johnell Davis averaged 12 PPG while D.J. Wagner averaged 11.2 PPG. Thiero led the team with 5.8 RPG while Fland led the way with 5.1 APG.

Key Additions/Losses
Arkansas lost a lot from last year’s team. Thiero is now with the Los Angeles Lakers, while Jonas Aidoo is also playing professional ball. Davis is not returning, as he is out of eligibility. Fland transferred to Florida to join forces with the defending champions, and Zvonimir Ivisic transferred to Illinois to join forces with his brother. Cash Chavis, who appeared in just one game for the Razorbacks last season, is in the transfer portal along with Melo Sanchez who played in just two.
What has elevated the Razorbacks to one of the top-rated teams in the country is their incoming freshmen class. They signed two five-star guards in Darius Acuff Jr. and Meleek Thomas, both of whom are Top 15 prospects. Their recruiting class is rounded out by four-stars Isaiah Sealy and Paulo Semedo, as well as three-star, Karim Rtail. The transfer class includes just two players. Nick Pringle is coming over from South Carolina after averaging 9.5 PPG and 6.3 RPG for the Gamecocks last season. He is joined by Malique Ewin, who averaged 14.2 PPG and 7.6 RPG for Florida State.
X-Factors
The Schedule- As with every SEC team, the Arkansas schedule is incredibly tough and provides little breaks. They have just one game before they head to East Lansing to take on fellow Top 25 team in Michigan State. After that, they have a handful of cupcakes before taking on Duke, Louisville, Texas Tech, and Houston. Arkansas heads into the season with 11 Top 25 matchups listed on the schedule with only four of those games happening at home. Luckily for them, they should win all of their home games against ranked opponents as they matchup well against them, but they have to make trips to Alabama and Florida instead of being able to host them. The Razorbacks will have to get acclimated early and gel on the court if they want to maintain their top ranking.

2025 Arkansas Razorbacks Predictions
It is no doubt that by the end of the season, Acuff and Thomas may be the two best freshmen in the country. They will be battle tested early and Arkansas will see just how high their ceiling can go with the progression of these two. The incoming transfer duo will fit in just nicely along with all the returning production. This roster did lose some noteworthy production, but there is still a lot of experience left on the roster. Karter Knox will get the chance to showcase his true ability in an increase workload while Wagner will be relied on to step it up as the leader of this Arkansas team. At +3500 to win the national championship, this Arkansas team is worth a real look.
