NBA Betting: Atlanta Hawks Season Long Handicapping 11/10/2025 vs. Los Angeles Clippers

All year long, Doc’s Sports will be breaking down every Atlanta Hawks weekday game while providing best bets along the way. By dialing into the ins and outs of the Hawks' roster, we will be able to generate consistent profits throughout the season.
On Friday night, the Hawks dropped a crucial NBA Cup matchup against the Toronto Raptors by a 109-97 scoreline. They were unable to build on the momentum from their first NBA Cup victory and now face an uphill battle to catch the 2-0 Raptors. Atlanta jumped out to a 13-point first-half lead in that matchup, but their shooting got ice-cold in the second half. They were outscored 65-44 in the second half, allowing Toronto to wind up with a 12-point victory, their largest lead of the game. Jalen Johnson led the way with 21 points, and the starters played well for Atlanta. Their downfall was their bench, which scored only 16 points on a combined 6/26 from the floor and 1/12 from behind the arc.

From a betting perspective, we had an excellent 2-1 night. Our biggest wager of the evening was a 3-unit, +120 pick on the Toronto Raptors moneyline, which cashed by a comfortable margin after a big second half from the Canadian team. Scottie Barnes and Jakob Poeltl both posted double doubles, with seven different Raptors finishing with a double-digit point total. We also nailed Nickeil Alexander-Walker to score over 16.5 points, as the 3-and-D wing finished with an even 20 points while shooting 50% from the floor, and 50% from deep. Our lone loss was a 1-unit pick on the over, but we still finished with a tidy profit from our other two wins.
The Hawks didn’t have time to sulk about their defeat, as they hosted Luka Doncic and the Los Angeles Lakers the following night. The odds were stacked against Atlanta, which was playing on the second night of a back-to-back with a lengthy injury list. Jalen Johnson, Kristaps Porzingis, Trae Young, Luke Kennard, and Alexander-Walker all missed the contest due to injury, yet the Hawks still emerged with a 122-102 victory. Dyson Daniels had a great game on the offensive end, posting a season-high 13 assists while shooting 5/8 from the floor. Asa Newell and Vit Krejci scored 17 points each off the bench, as the Hawks flexed their depth against the mighty Lakers.
Tonight, the Atlanta Hawks (5-5) kick off a four-game, West Coast road trip in Los Angeles against the Clippers (3-6). It has been a disastrous start to the season for Los Angeles, as they have been plagued with issues both on and off the court. The Clippers have had a very easy start to the season, facing off against the Jazz, Trail Blazers, Pelicans, Heat, and three games against the Suns in their first nine contests. Not only are the Clippers 3-6 straight up, but they are a dreadful 1-8 against the spread as they have been 8+ point favorites on five occasions this season. Availability has been a concern, as Kawhi Leonard and Bradley Beal have both missed three games each this season. An aging Clippers team didn’t get any younger in the offseason when they picked up Beal and Brook Lopez, and the best ability in the NBA is availability. Kawhi will be out once again tonight, which leaves James Harden as the only reliable scorer on the offensive end. Harden is averaging 22 PPG with 9.1 assists this season, but four turnovers per game have negatively impacted his offensive capabilities.
Under normal circumstances, the Clippers would be expected to challenge for an NBA title with a roster this stacked, and would be a double-digit favorite against a team like Atlanta at home. The Hawks are still without Trae Young, while Johnson and Alexander-Walker have also popped up as questionable. However, there is little to like about the Clippers right now, who are also without their best player in Leonard.
The victory over the Lakers was a great display of depth from the Hawks, who feel as though they are turning a corner after a slow first month of the season. Building chemistry with their new lineup was always going to be a concern, and they have now had enough time to gel as a team, regardless of who is on the court. Against the Clippers, that will be on full display. Atlanta has the fifth most assists in the league this season, while having the eighth-fewest turnovers. The Clippers are on the opposite end of the spectrum, as they are 23rd in assists while giving away the eighth-most turnovers in the league. Atlanta moves the ball well on offense, and their ball-handling skills have developed nicely with Young on the shelf. Johnson, Daniels, and Alexander-Walker have all gotten more time on the ball in the open court, which has led to a balanced offensive approach from Atlanta. The Clippers have the 26th-ranked defense in the league this season, and that is all while facing an easy strength of schedule through the opening weeks of the new season. The reality is that the Clippers are old, slow, and unmotivated, while a revolving door of injuries has derailed their offseason aspirations. One matchup we will exploit today is Dyson Daniels on James Harden. Harden loves to pass the ball on the perimeter, but he has been sloppy when Kawhi is out of the lineup. Daniels was a DPOY runner-up last season, and while his 2.3 steals per game isn’t as high as his 3.0 from last year, he is still one of the most effective ball snatchers in the league. Harden has the third most turnovers in the NBA, and we are getting a nice -115 price on Over 2.5 steals for Daniels. The Great Barrier Thief will be active on defense, and this is a great chance to rack up the steals in a breakout defensive performance. F
or the second bet of the night, we will take the Hawks both on the +5 point spread and the +165 moneyline. Atlanta was battered in the early stages of the season by strong opposition coupled with emerging team chemistry, and this is a great opportunity to string together a second straight win against a Los Angeles team. Starting off the road trip with a victory would lift their spirits, and it is hard to justify the Clippers in the favorite role. On paper, Los Angeles should win, but that simply hasn’t been the case this year, and this kind of price is too juicy to turn down.
