2025-26 Orlando Magic Predictions and Odds to Win NBA Finals

The Orlando Magic are ready to take the Eastern Conference by storm. Injuries derailed their previous playoff surges, but a clean slate of health, coupled with an excellent offseason, has the Magic ready to compete. They haven’t won a playoff series in 15 years, but there has never been a better chance to snap that streak with a wide-open Eastern Conference. Can the Magic finally make a deep playoff run, or will it be another disappointing season in Orlando?
Doc’s Sports offers NBA picks for every game on our NBA predictions page.
Orlando Magic Offseason Recap
The Magic were very active in the offseason, tooling their roster around Paolo Banchero. There is no shortage of young talent in Orlando, and the Magic could have played it safe and waited for their assets to develop. However, they chose the nuclear option.
Acquiring Desmond Bane from the Memphis Grizzlies undoubtedly makes the Magic better now, but they dramatically shrank their championship window with the move. The Magic sent four first-round picks to Memphis, including a potentially valuable 2026 swap with either the Wizards or Suns. Bane is a proven top-end talent in the NBA, which is hard to come by, but the fanbase is still left feeling as though the team overpaid for a single asset. Orlando also had to give up Cole Anthony and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope to get the deal done. While that may come back to haunt Orlando in the future, a deep playoff run this season will make that irrelevant.
Bane averaged 19.2 PPG last season, down from 21.5 and 23.7 the two years prior. However, his efficiency has skyrocketed, and Bane has turned into a well-rounded NBA star rather than the pure scorer he was earlier in his career. He has started to crash the glass, with 6.1 rebounds per night, and logged a career best 1.2 steals per game last season. His energy increase on both ends of the court has already paid dividends, and Bane is the textbook shooting guard the Magic have been looking for.
Orlando also scooped up Tyus Jones in free agency, while adding a pair of promising rookies in Jase Richardson and Noah Penda. The depth is a concern for Orlando, so if one of that trio can turn into a reliable man off the bench, Orlando will be looking good heading into the new season.
Orlando Magic Season Expectations
The Magic have been knocking on the door of contention since drafting Banchero, and the expectations have never been higher heading into the new season. Banchero and Franz Wagner have already shown what they can do when they are both healthy, and the Magic now have a third superstar in Bane on their roster. Health issues remain a concern, but the Magic have a clean bill of health heading into the new year and a roster full of young players who can heal quickly. Wagner, Banchero, and Jalen Suggs were the three best players in Orlando last season and missed a collective 105 games last season.
A healthy Magic team is a dangerous unit. Orlando still managed to go 41-41 last season and make the playoffs with their revolving door of starting fives, and it is frightening to think about what they can do if they all stay healthy. Banchero exploded for 25.9 PPG and 7.5 rebounds last season, and is still just 22 years old. Wagner also saw a big step up from his previous career high at 24.2 PPG, but the real difference was his comfort with the ball in his hands. Once Suggs and Banchero got hurt, Wagner was left to create offense far more often than he was used to. That will help the Magic big man this year, and he will be even more efficient when he is called upon.
Orlando Magic Schedule Breakdown
To open up the season, Orlando has three winnable home games against the Heat, Hawks, and Bulls before embarking on a season-long five-game road trip. Trips to Detroit, Philadelphia, Charlotte, Washington, and Atlanta are not too difficult, and the Magic have the chance to open up the year on a winning note. While the Magic are technically home for Christmas, seven games in 11 nights in six different cities to close out 2025 will not be the relaxing break they would have hoped for. Orlando also hops on a plane just one week later for a pair of games in Europe against the Grizzlies in early January. The Magic have the most miles on their schedule at 54,279, nearly 4,000 more than the next closest teams. The intense travel and grueling schedule will be something to watch for later in the season.
Orlando Magic Odds
The Magic have the third-highest win total in the East at 50.5 this season. They are expected to compete for a top seed without too many problems, as the wide-open nature of the East makes a winning record well within their reach. They are -3000 to make the playoffs, and have lengthy +490 odds to require the play-in tournament if they drop below the 6th seed. In the postseason, Orlando has +600 odds to win the East and +2000 odds to win the NBA Finals. This is the highest the expectations have been in Orlando in decades, and it remains to be seen if the team will be able to handle the mounting pressure. The NBA Cup offers the Magic a chance to find early success, as they are +210 favorites to win East Group B with the Pistons, 76ers, Celtics, and Nets rounding out the group. To take it a step further, Orlando has +1200 odds to win the NBA Cup outright, the 5th shortest in the NBA.
2025-26 Orlando Magic Season Predictions and Best Bets
There is a lot to like about the Magic this season. They have a fresh roster with new talent, they are healthy, and have the depth needed to survive an 82-game season. However, the expectations have been raised far too high, and we have no choice but to take their unders. A win total of 50.5 is way too high for the Magic, who haven’t won 50+ games since 2011 with Dwight Howard. This team will likely eclipse their 41-41 record from a year ago, but they are still one injury away from being a play-in tournament team. Under 50.5 wins is a great, safe pick to make, but it is almost always better to chase longer odds with season-long bets. For the best pick you can make, take the Magic to participate in the play-in tournament at +490 odds. Orlando is expected to finish inside the top 6 in the East this season, but this is too much upside to turn down. The Magic have fallen short of expectations in the past, and this sky-high win total and the expectations that go with it, are too much to ask. If you can find an alternative total, such as under 45.5 wins at +200 or something like that, take it. I don’t have faith in the rest of the Eastern Conference to leapfrog Orlando, but this is the best way we can maximize our stake when looking to fade the Magic.
Pick: Magic Under 50.5 Wins -110
Top Pick: Magic to Participate in the Play-In Tournament +490
Alternative Pick: Magic Under 45.5 Wins (Or any alternate total) at underdog odds
