NBA Betting: Atlanta Hawks Season Long Handicapping 4/10/2026 vs. Cleveland Cavaliers

You have found the right place for all your NBA betting needs, as Doc’s Sports will be giving out free best bets for every Atlanta Hawks weekday game this season.
On Wednesday night, the Hawks fell to the Cleveland Cavaliers 122-116. It was a potential first-round playoff preview between the two teams, and the Cavs used their hot shooting and dominance in the paint to prevail. Atlanta’s starting five fell short of expectations, but Jonathan Kuminga and Mouhammed Gueye both had excellent games off the bench. Kuminga’s big first half led the Hawks to a 7-point lead at halftime, but a 44-20 third quarter for the Cavaliers gave the home team the win. Kuminga poured in 24 points with six rebounds and three assists, while Gueye was a machine on defense against Jarrett Allen and Evan Mobley. Donovan Mitchell was the leading scorer with 31 points while going 12-for-19 from the floor, allowing the Cavs to hold on despite a late push from the Hawks.

From a betting perspective, we went 1-1. We took Dyson Daniels to sink at least one three-pointer with +105 odds, and he came through after going 1-for-3 from deep. Our loss of the evening was on Nickeil Alexander-Walker, who we took to finish with under 3.5 rebounds, and he finished with four.
Tonight, the Atlanta Hawks (45-35) get a chance at revenge over the Cleveland Cavaliers (51-29) as both teams fly to Atlanta for a rematch at State Farm Arena. After the Hawks’ defeat, their playoff spot is far from guaranteed, which makes this a very important game to win. Not only does this take some pressure off their season finale on Sunday, but it also sends a message that they can go toe-to-toe with the Cavaliers in a potential first-round playoff series. In what is both good and bad news for the Hawks, Donovan Mitchell and Jarrett Allen will both miss tonight’s matchup. The good news is that the Hawks should have a much easier time picking up a crucial win, but the bad news is that they won’t get a chance to settle the score before the season wraps up. This is the second-to-last game of the year and the final regular-season breakdown before we get into play-in tournaments or playoff matchups.
To call this a ‘must-win' game for the Hawks would be an understatement. Just two games separate the 5th-place Raptors and the 9th-place Hornets, with the Hawks right in the middle of those two teams. Back-to-back losses have tarnished their previously 20-3 record since the All-Star break, and a third straight defeat would take away all their building momentum over the last few months. Cleveland is a solid team in the East, but without two of their starters, and the most impactful players available, the odds firmly favor the Hawks to get the job done at home.
This matchup will be dictated by how the Hawks play on the inside. Onyeka Okongwu was demolished by the towering duo in the Cleveland frontcourt two days ago in what was one of his worst games of the season. His development at the five position has been crucial to the Hawks' success this year, and this matchup against the Cavs will give him a quick chance at revenge after Wednesday’s defeat. On the outside, the Hawks will have the advantage tonight with Mitchell out, as Alexander-Walker, CJ McCollum, and Dyson Daniels have become one of the best backcourt trios in the league.
One player who needs to step up is Jalen Johnson. Johnson was named to his first All-Star team this season and was one of the frontrunners for Most Improved Player before Alexander-Walker’s incredible second-half play shot him up the rankings. Johnson is the current face of the Hawks franchise, and Atlanta needs a real star in a potential postseason push. He was averaging 24/11/8 before March 1st, but his splits are 21/9/7 since then. Even though the Hawks are now winning, Johnson is far less effective on the offensive end. He isn’t as aggressive in the paint, his turnover numbers are up, and he is no longer the facilitator he was earlier in the year. He is still second in the NBA with 13 triple-doubles this year, with two in the last month, but his regression has capped the Hawks' ceiling with the playoffs around the corner. Alexander-Walker can score; Dyson Daniels can defend, but unless Johnson returns to the dominant two-way player he was in the first half of the year, the Hawks' playoff run could come to a screeching halt.
In tonight’s matchup, I expect Johnson to feast on the glass. With Jarrett Allen out, Johnson will have lots of opportunities to outsize his matchup in the paint, and winning the rebounding battle is crucial against the Cavs. We are also following a recent trend with four straight 11+ rebound games from Johnson, while his line is still at 9.5 for tonight. This matchup, given the Cavaliers' injuries, makes this a great spot, and a favorable price for a motivated Johnson makes him the play.
For the second pick of the night, we will lay the points with the Hawks. It is always hard to beat the same team twice, and I don’t envision the Cavaliers playing their best basketball tonight. Atlanta is the healthier, more motivated team at home, so even with a seven-point spread, taking the Hawks is the way to go.
Finally, we will run it back with Dyson Daniels to score at least one three-pointer. Daniels has now cashed this prop in four consecutive games, and we are still getting +105 odds on him to do so again. He has started to find his rhythm in the tail end of the season, and this is one of the few spots where it is clear the oddsmakers are still lagging or looking at season-long stats.
