MLB Prediction From Robert Ferringo:

Take Detroit (-1.5) over Baltimore (6:30 p.m., Thursday, June 12)

Take St. Louis Cardinals over Milwaukee (7:40 p.m., Thursday, June 12)

We have an NL Central divisional game scheduled for Thursday, June 12th, between the St. Louis Cardinals and the Milwaukee Brewers. This will be a rubber match here tonight, as both starters are scheduled to go head-to-head this week. The St. Louis Cardinals will have their guy on the mound, Sonny Gray. Sonny is 7-1 on the season with 81 strikeouts and only 14 walks on the year. In his last outing, he shut down the Dodgers, going 6.1 innings of work with 8 hits, and didn’t allow a run. In his last two starts, he has picked up two wins. On the other hand, the Brewers will have Jose Quintana back on the mound with a 4-1 record this season and an ERA sitting at 2.66 this season. In his last outing he only went 5 innings of work, 5 hits, and 1 earned run. Both teams are very similar when looking at their team stats. The one difference has been their team batting averages. As the Cardinals are coming in 4th in all of MLB in team batting average hitting a .258 as a team. While these Brewers are in the back of the pack, sitting in 28th in team average, hitting a whopping .237 as a team. The bats have been more consistent all year with the Cardinals. It seems like everyone is waiting for the Braves to break out of their funk and start playing consistently better baseball, but no one is expecting that from the Rockies who are having one of the worst seasons in baseball history. Playing Colorado could be just what Atlanta needs to get things going and get back on track. Bryce Elder has pitched well over his last four starts, but he doesn't have much to show for it as his offense has provided him with just 9 runs of support over those contests. I think that will change with the Braves facing German Marquez whose ERA is 8.82 over 8 starts on the road, which is almost twice as much as it is at Coors Field. Atlanta has to talented of a roster to not get this figured out and I think it starts with a win to open up this series. Two of the best teams in baseball go head-to-head here early in Saturday action. The Tigers have the best record in baseball and are on pace for more than 105 wins during the regular season. They are expected to hand the baseball here to starter Jack Flaherty in this one. Flaherty is coming off a very strong season in 2024. He struggled a bit in the month of May but he seems to have figured some things out in his last two starts allowing just 1 earned run in 12 innings. Soccer Prediction From Doc's Sports:

Take Philadelphia (-145) over Charlotte (7:30 p.m., Saturday June 14)

This is a fair price for Philly on Saturday. They have streaked to the top of the table and haven’t lost a match since early April. They are four points clear at the No. 1 spot in the east, so regardless of the result here they will still be in first after the weekend. But we think they will get their full three points here. Charlotte has been a very inconsistent side. They rarely draw – they either win or lose – so we aren’t too concerned about the tie here. They have a +1 goal differential compared to +14 for the Union. Charlotte has mostly done well against bad teams lately, but we don’t see them having much success here in the City of Brotherly Love.
