MLB Prediction From Robert Ferringo:
Take Atlanta (-1.5, -140) over Colorado (7 p.m., Friday, Aug. 28)
We won with our free play here last week and look to do it again in commanding fashion with a blowout to start the weekend. The Braves hit the skids on their West Coast road trip, going on a 3-7 slide. Then they had to come home and battle the Dodgers in a highly charged series. The Rockies would be the only trash pile team that Atlanta has faced over the last several weeks, outside of the Mets, of course (even though the Mets are playing better). They haven’t had a chance to punch down in a while. I think they are going to take advantage against a Colorado team that is walking dead. The Rockies are 12-24 in their last 36 games. Tomoyuki Sugano is slated to take the ball for this start and the 36-year-old is just cashing paychecks. He has an ERA around 5.00 and has gotten slammed for 17 runs in his last 19 innings over four starts. He’s allowed 39 runs over his last 10 starts (53 innings) with a hearty 6.07 ERA. Sugano has allowed 7 home runs in his last four road starts and should get lit up here. If you don’t have an account at Doc’s Sports sign up now and get $60 in premium member picks click here. MLB Prediction From Strike Point Sports:
Take ‘Over’ Boston at N.Y. Yankees (1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 29)
This will be the first game of a double header between these teams and I think both teams will go all out to get the first win of the day. There is a lot on the line with these two so close in the standings, and both have an outside chance to overtake the Rays in first place if certain things go their way. Carlos Rodon has pitched well in the Bronx this year, but this will be the second time Boston faces him this year and I think they will be able to score some runs off him. Jake Bennett picked up his 8th win on the year his last time out against the Giants, but he also allowed 3 earned runs which he has done for 6 straight starts and I think New York will be able to continue that streak. Both teams are getting healthier and will have more options at their manager's disposal to take advantage of matchups which I think will help push this total over. College Football Prediction From Raphael Esparza:
Take ‘Over’ 9.5 (-125) San Jose State Team Total (3 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 29)
The USC Trojans are a huge 38.5-point home favorites against San Jose St and I know the Spartans have lost 6-straight meetings between USC but I do see them scoring 10 points or more. It's no secret that San Jose St will want to establish the run early and we should see a more balanced offense from the Spartans. Last year the USC Trojans gave 10 points or more in every game and I see this trend continuing Saturday afternoon. I'm not saying that San Jose St will cover this game or even pull off the upset. However, with USC allowing an average of 23 ppg last year I see the Spartans scoring 10 points or more. College Football Prediction From Arun Shiva:
Take ‘Under’ 47 Jacksonville State at North Dakota State (5:30 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 29)
This is going to be a more exciting game than people realize as Jacksonville State returns QB Caden Creel and has according to many reports 3 on offense and 5 on defense coming back. Note, most of their rushing attack returns including multiple offensive line starters. The only way that Jacksonville State can keep this game close in my opinion is through running the ball and keeping the potent North Dakota State offense off the field. North Dakota State has 3 offensive linemen returning as well and quite a bit of defensive production coming back including from the front seven. Note, their starting QB is gone. Note, Jacksonville State's new offensive coordinator, Coach Housewright loves to run the ball as when he was at Montana State in 2022, his offense finished 2nd national in rushing and scoring. He's been quoted many times in the past as saying Championships start with rushing the football. When you put all these factors together, we like this quality public fade and this game going under the posted total. Soccer Prediction From Doc's Sports:
Take Houston (-145) over San Jose (8:30 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 29)
We have been doing well with our free soccer picks, so let’s grab another winner this Saturday. San Jose was high in the MLS standings to start the season with nine wins in 10 matches, but they haven’t won since before the World Cup. Since June, they have five losses and a draw, with a goal differential of -14. They hosted another struggling side, Minnesota, on Saturday, and this was the worst loss yet, a 5-1 home loss. They gave up during that match, and that seemed like a spot where they might circle the wagons and give an inspired performance. But instead, it seems like they didn’t care. They have been plummeting in the standings, and we just don’t see them raising their level of play here on the road against Houston, the No. 2 side in the Western Conference. Houston has collected 22 points at home in 10 matches, with seven outright wins and a +6 goal differential. They have won 11 of 15 home meetings against San Jose. The Earthquakes have conceded at least a goal now in 17 straight matches, and the defense and goalkeeping has been dreadful and seems to be getting worse by the match. We think this number will rise as the match gets closer, so jump on this one early! If you don’t have an account at Doc’s Sports sign up now and get $60 in premium member picks click here. MLB Prediction From Nick Menken:
Take Chicago Cubs (-1.5) over Cincinnati (7 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 30)
We're backing the Chicago Cubs moneyline and leaning toward the over on the run total on Sunday Night Baseball as the Cubs close out their home series against the Cincinnati Reds at Wrigley Field. The stakes couldn't be higher for Chicago (76-56). Sitting just 5.5 games back of the Milwaukee Brewers in the NL Central division race, every single game matters for the Cubs to stay firmly in position for the division crown or a top wild card seed. Chicago’s lineup has been hitting its stride, and returning to the friendly confines of Wrigley gives their bats a prime environment to jump on opposing pitching early. On the flip side, the Cincinnati Reds (62-70) have struggled to find consistency down the stretch. With an offense that has stalled frequently against quality pitching and a bullpen that gets exposed in high-leverage situations, Cincinnati will have a tough task containing Chicago’s high-output order under the national spotlight. Expect Chicago to bring maximum urgency, put up plenty of runs, and complete the job on Sunday night. MLB Prediction From Griffin Murphy:
Take Tampa Bay (-1.5) over NY Mets. (6:40 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 1)
Tampa Bay is 78-53 on the season and 43-23 at home. This team has been one of the most solidified teams in the 2026 season, and we believe they keep it rolling in this one. New York is 59-72 on the season and 29-37 on the road. The Mets are also 17th in baseball when it comes to runs allowed against per game, and Tampa is leading The Bigs in hits. We think Tampa rolls at home in this one and will be taking the run-line position. If you don’t have an account at Doc’s Sports sign up now and get $60 in premium member picks click here. NFL Futures Prediction From Robert Ferringo:
Take Minnesota Vikings ‘Over’ 8.5 Wins (-120)
A lot of people aren’t sure about the Minnesota Vikings this year. They love the Bears. They love the Lions. But they aren’t sure about the Vikings They don’t know about Kyler Murray. ‘I just don’t know…” Well, I know. The Vikings are going to be GOOD. In fact, I like them to win the NFC North at +550. This team won nine games last year with a poo-poo platter of J.J. McCarthy, Max Brosmer and Carson Wentz at quarterback. That’s insane! Murray may never turn out to be the superstar that everyone expected him to be as a No. 1 pick in Arizona. But Arizona is the West Coast N.Y. Jets. That is an organization of losers. And despite that, Murray made a couple of Pro Bowls and took Arizona to the playoffs as an 11-win team in 2021. Murray had to deal with clown coaches like Kliff Kingsbury and Jon Gannon and frequently had an overmatched roster. Now he gets Jut Jefferson, Jordan Addison, T.J. Hockenson, a solid running game, and a Brian Flores-led defense. Oh, and Kevin O’Connell, who has revitalized the careers of guys like Sam Darnold and Daniel Jones in the past two years. I think Murray is going to be a revelation this year. He’s going to be really, really good and the Vikings are going to be a playoff team. This is an easy ‘over’ call. If you don’t have an account at Doc’s Sports sign up now and get $60 in premium member picks click here. Existing clients call or email today and we will give you a discount on premium package. Call 1-866-238-6696 or email service@docsports.com and mention newsletter discount. Offer expires at 6 p.m., Friday, Sept. 4.
NFL Futures Prediction From Jason Sharpe:
Take Detroit Lions ‘Over’ 10.5 Wins
Detroit finished above .500 (9-8) last season but a ton of bad luck went against them. The Lions were just 2-5 in one score games played last year. They also recovered below 30% of total fumbles (offense and defense) which was just the 5th time overall any NFL team went below that mark over a full season since 1990. Detroit also had bad injury luck finishing dead last in adjusted games lost due to injury last season on defense. They face the 2nd easiest schedule in the league this year and overall have a lot of high-end talent at the most important positions (QB, WR, LT, DE, RB). Play 'over' Detroit season wins. College Football Futures Prediction From Robert Ferringo:
Take Air Force ‘Over’ 7.5 Wins (+120)
I’m absolutely buying low on Troy Calhoun and the Falcons this year. Air Force is coming off a rare losing season. Even more, that’s two straight losing seasons for Air Force. The Falcons have only had a losing record three years in a row twice since 1980. The last time it happened was just before Calhoun took over. Air Force had three straight losing years in from 2004-2006. Calhoun stepped right in and led Air Force to nine wins in his first year on the job. Since then, he’s been below .500 in two straight seasons just twice (2012-13 and 2017-18). He rebounded to win 10 games in 2014 and 11 games in 2019. The Mountain West lost a bunch of good programs to the newly reconfigured Pac-12, watering down Air Force’s path to the MWC title. That will give them a significantly easier schedule this season. The Falcons had one of their worst-ever defenses last year. They brought back eight starters on that side of the ball and a little older, a little more experienced, and presumably a bit better. Liam Szarka should lead a potent offense and Air Force’s continuity is now an advantage in the era of the transfer portal. The Falcons get three of their first four games at home and their first two home games are at Nevada and Northern Illinois, two teams that went a combined 6-18 last year. Air Force also has UTEP (2-10) and San Jose State (3-9) on the schedule this year. They avoid Hawaii and get UNLV at home and there is clearly a path to a double-digit win season. I have Air Force at 9-3 in the regular season and I think they will make the MWC title game. I love the plus-money value on this pick and this is a must-play.
