The FedEx Cup Playoffs begin this week with the St Jude Championship from the barbecue capital of the world, Memphis, Tennessee. The field is obviously loaded with the game’s best golfers. Leading the way atop the betting board is the newest Olympic Gold Medalist in men’s golf, the #1 ranked player in the world, Scottie Scheffler. You can take the Jersey native to win. The PGA Tour heads to Greensboro, North Carolina for the Wyndham Championship, which will serve as the final stop of the regular season before the playoffs start next week. Sedgefield Country Club will host the event and plays smaller than most courses on the PGA schedule. The field this week is not very strong, but there is still some star power teeing it up with Sungjae Im, Shane Lowry, Cameron Young, and Jordan Spieth all competing to solidify playoff positioning.

One week removed from the LPGA’s third major of the season, the tour will head to Midland Country Club in Michigan for this week’s Dow Championship. This serves as the only team event on the LPGA schedule and resembles the PGA Tour’s Zurich Classic, which was won by Rory Mcllroy and Shane Lowry in April. There are two rounds of alternate shot and two rounds of best ball, with a 36-hole cut taking place after Friday.

Chalk up a victory for the LIV Golf Tour, as Bryson DeChambeau won the U.S. Open in dramatic fashion last weekend at Pinehurst. After Rory Mcllroy missed a four-foot putt on the 18th hole to bogey, all DeChambeau had to do was par for the victory. After an erratic tee shot that left no options except chipping out, he found a bunker 55-yards away from the green.

Sweden’s Linnea Strom shot an amazing 11-under-par on Sunday to set the clubhouse lead at -14. It was the lowest final round ever on tour, and her final round score of 60 finished second all-time by only one stroke off Annika Sorenstam’s 59 in 2001.

It is a Friday start on the LPGA Tour this week, as players will head to Seaview’s Bay Course in New Jersey for the ShopRite LPGA Classic. Japanese superstar Yuka Saso is back in action after winning her second US Women’s Open last weekend. She turned a three-shot deficit into a three-shot win after the trio of co-leaders shot a combined 20-over par on Sunday.
