Next Move for Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor: Prop Betting Odds
Last Saturday night at UFC 229 in Las Vegas we witnessed the biggest PPV in UFC history, but the post-fight brawl will be what the public will remember! It's been a couple of days since the chaos, but instead of talking about the melee after the Khabib Nurmagomedov vs. Conor McGregor fight, we can bet on the next move for both fighters.
After making McGregor tap out in the fourth round, not only did Nurmagomedov leave the octagon but it was a circus all round the octagon that spread outside the T-Moblie Arena. And after all that, all I could think about was what kind of odds can I make for UFC/MMA betting purposes!
At this point we know that Nurmagomedov has not received his purse for this fight of around $2 million, and there are still talks about maybe him getting his championship belt stripped. You can guarantee Nurmagomedov will be suspended by UFC, the Nevada State Athletic Commission will fine him, and Nurmagomedov might have Visa issues here in the United States after this post-fight brawl.
The $1 million question that everybody wants to know is what happens now for both fighters. McGregor has already publicly called for a rematch, and Nurmagomedov has returned to Dagestan (Russia). But we all want to know what is going to happen and who they are going to fight next. Online sportsbook MyBookie.ag has released four different betting options on this topic ,and my breakdown on who Nurmagomedov and McGregor will fight next could surprise you.
Odds Provided by MyBookie
Will Khabib Nurmagomedov be stripped of his UFC Championship belt?
Will Khabib Nurmagomedov receive his fight purse by end of 2018?
Who Will Khabib Nurmagomedov fight next in the UFC?
Tony Ferguson +100
Conor McGregor +200
Dustin Poirier +350
Eddie Alvarez +500
Tyron Woodley 15-1
Never Fights in UFC 100-1
The obvious pick, of course, is McGregor, but I don't see the rematch happening until late 2019. I do see Nurmagomedov being suspended and fined, and that is the reason we won't see a rematch with McGregor. But at the same time, I'm happy because I really want to see Nurmagomedov fight Tony Ferguson! Ferguson had no problem beating Anthony Pettis at UFC 229, and he made Pettis' face look like ground beef. Ferguson called out McGregor after his beat down of Pettis, but McGregor has no belt and Tony 'El Cucuy' Ferguson wants to be a champ. He will have a bigger payday against McGregor if he has the belt.
Prediction: Tony Ferguson +100
Who Will Conor McGregor fight next in the UFC?
Khabib Nurmagomedov -120
Nate Diaz +150
Georges St-Pierre +400
Anderson Silva +650
Tony Ferguson +850
Jose Aldo 10-1
Tyron Woodley 22-1
Floyd Mayweather 100-1
Conor McGregor's long-awaited return to the octagon ended in a tap-out in the fourth round by Nurmagomedov, and now the big question is what 'Notorious' will do next. Everybody wants to see the rematch, but I want to see the third fight between Nate Diaz and McGregor. Both fights had great outcomes, and both fighters know how to promote a fight, so the fireworks will be there as well. Keep an eye out for Tyron Woodley at 22-1 and of course Floyd Mayweather 100-1. However, we probably won't see a quick rematch of Khabib/McGregor part 2 but we will see a Diaz/McGregor part 3.
Prediction: Nate Diaz +150
