Best Bets for College Football Teams to Win 10 or More Regular Season Games

Finally, college football fans, the season is now upon us. The Kansas State Wildcats and the Cyclones of Iowa State have already gotten us started, and what a crowd that was in Dublin, Ireland, of all places.
The Irish not only have the funniest women in the world but also arguably the greatest fans. I know this from the MMA world, but I had no idea how loud they would get for two college football teams from the Midwest.
You can't blame it on the alcohol either because nobody tailgates harder than college kids, but I digress. It's good to be back.
We’re less than a week away from Saturday at high noon Eastern time when Arch Manning leads the Texas Longhorns to The Shoe, where they take on the Ohio State Buckeyes. Then, on Sunday night, we get to see Notre Dama travel to South Beach to play the Cam Ward-less Miami Hurricanes.
Three of these four college football teams are 2-1 or better betting favorites to win 10+ regular season games in 2025. You can make your investment if you want, but I understand you're probably looking for some plus money because at the end of the day, kids will be kids. They're now highly paid kids, but keep in mind, you're only as strong as your weakest link.
Instead of investing that much, we have three plus money best bets for you, as well as a team that plays in a far less competitive conference at (-150).
Doc’s Sports offers college football picks for every game on our college football predictions page.

Best Bets for College Football Teams to Win 10+ Regular Season Games
Liberty: -150
The Liberty Flames are my hometown team. I didn't go there. I spent my post-military Fall Saturdays nestled in between the Blue Ridges of Blacksburg. Unfortunately, I don't think the Hokies of Virginia Tech will be able to win 10 games this season, but don't count them out.
Typically, I'll save the best of our best bets until last, but I love Liberty here. I picked the Flames to finish the regular season undefeated, so why not take them to lose two or fewer contests?
The juice is there for a reason. The sportsbooks don’t want you to make this bet. Liberty has a two-game “stretch” in late-September when they host the James Madison Bulldogs and then travel to the athletic hotbed of the Tidewater to play Old Dominion.
These games will be challenging, but the Flames will likely be favored in both. Outside of that, there is virtually no one standing in their way of a potential undefeated season, where the committee will have no choice but to give them a spot in the college football playoffs.
Miami: +110
We hinted at the Hurricanes in the opener. Even though they lost the 2024 Heisman Trophy winner to the 1st overall selection in the NFL Draft, Mario Cristobal’s team improved drastically on defense, especially against the pass.
Well, let’s hope they did. On paper, they look different. That’s for sure. We have a new defensive coordinator as well. So, there are questions in South Beach.
After the opener, though, the schedule is soft to say the least. Did you know the Miami Hurricanes only play 4 of their 12 regular season games on the road? With no neutral site matchups, Miami will host 8 teams in 2025 for the first time in over half a century.
They're only (+2.5) home underdogs against Notre Dame on Sunday, but let's say they lose that one. They will host the Gators in late-September, take a week off, and then travel up to Tallahassee to play FSU.
Including their bowl loss last season, they were a combined 10 points over three games away from being undefeated.
Michigan: +125
The Michigan Wolverines went 7-5 in the regular season last year, but they played everybody and their momma. In 2025, though, wow, no Oregon, no Texas, no Indiana, and no Illinois. They'll play the Buckeyes, but other than Ohio State, the Wolverines could be a dark horse in the upcoming college football playoffs.
North Carolina: +550
Lastly, I wanted to give you guys some long odds with a storyline to play with here. Thankfully, Bill Belichick and the Heels don’t have a tough schedule at all. In fact, they almost rival the aforementioned Flames with how winnable it appears to be on paper.
We're playing the odds here. Belichick's first year could be a bust. At the moment, though, UNC only has one ranked team on their radar for 2025, the Clemson Tigers. Let's give them that loss. Now, we have one more to play with. Their toughest road game on paper will be against NC State, obviously a short drive, and the Wolfpack are projected to win one fewer game in 2025 than UNC.
It's not likely, but put several units on Liberty and a sprinkle on the NFL Hall of Famer to instill the Patriot Way in Chapel Hill.
