2025 College Football National Championship Futures Odds with Expert Betting Predictions

It's already Week 10 in the college football season. The Fall flies so fast. Still, fans and bettors alike are treated to one big game after another every week. The state of college football is better than it's ever been.
That might ruffle some feathers, and believe me. It pains me to say it, too. I'm not a fan of the transfer portal, but it opens the door for non-elite teams to give themselves a realistic chance at winning a National Championship.
Yes, sure. It will probably be one of the eight or so elite programs we’ve grown accustomed to watching compete for the crown. It won’t be long, however, until we see a team like the Indiana Hoosiers win the National Championship.
It will undoubtedly be a cascading exponential domino effect when that happens. College football desperately needed to open things up for years. Over the past couple of decades, they’ve done so, but at a snail’s pace.
This season will be our second 12-Team College Football Playoff. The Ohio State Buckeyes turned their season around after a loss to Michigan, dominating the Playoff to win the National Championship.
The Buckeyes are betting favorites again this season and for good reason. I’m not going to tell you not to bet on them, but at the moment, there isn’t a ton of value. This can obviously change in an instant, so stay tuned.
The Alabama Crimson Tide got off to a brutal start this season, losing by two touchdowns to the Florida State Seminoles. Since then, though, the Tide has rolled over ranked opponents with relative ease.
The dark horse I have my eye on, though, is down in College Station. The Aggies of A&M are a different animal this year.
One team that could surprise us in the New Year is Vanderbilt. Everybody knows quarterback Diego Paiva, but the Commodores are very well-rounded with a strong defense and rushing attack.
Believe it or not, the Texas Longhorns are still in it as well. I’ve seen some interesting scenarios where they could make a run, with or without Arch Manning.
Another team I’ve had my eye/money on since before the season began is the Miami Hurricanes. They have more experience, particularly championship experience, at the quarterback position than any other ranked program.

2025 College Football National Champion Predictions
Indiana: +600
2026 could be the year that breaks the mold of college football, and what better team to do it than a perennial powerhouse on the courts, the Hoosiers. They even had a movie made about them.
How can you not love their head coach, Curt Cignetti? Quotes like “We’re the emerging superpower in college football. Why would I leave?” and “I win. Google me.” are priceless.
They also have a Heisman hopeful at quarterback with Fernando Mendoza. He is right up there at the top of the betting board with Ohio State’s Julian Sayin to win the award.
Texas A&M: +900
The Aggies impressed the heck out of me by fighting/outlasting Notre Dame and then doubling up both the LSU Tigers and Florida Gators.
Texas A&M is right up there with Indiana in yards/play on offense and defense, ranking inside the top 15. The former is more impressive, though, considering the level of competition.
Any defense that can hold a Garrett Nussmeier-led HOME offense to 3.5 yards/play is one I can get behind to win a National Championship.
Miami: +1600
We mentioned the Hurricanes already. I hated Carson Beck at Georgia, but he has grown up a bit in Miami, which is odd because many people do the opposite. He also has more freedom at the line of scrimmage to call audibles.
There was so much pressure at Georgia from day 1, and this young man has learned a lot. Miami is loaded this year. They've already had their slip-up against Louisville, which is okay.
They're still nearly a lock for the playoff, and I'll take Beck over any QB in college football come crunch time.
