Thursday Night Football Picks: Philadelphia Eagles vs New York Giants

The 2025 regular season in the NFL has been nothing short of spellbinding. Many of us believed that witnessing one of the greatest Super Bowl performances of all time (The Eagles, not Kendrick Lamar), by one of the greatest offensive lines of all time, would lend itself to a strong offensive start to the upcoming season.
Yes, the Eagles have started the season strong at 4-1, but it hasn't been a pretty sight. After the big game, I don't know how every last player on this team didn't strut around all Spring and Summer thinking their backsides don't stink.
It's more than a slow start to the season, though, for this offense. A year ago, Philly was 2nd in the NFL in rushing behind the Baltimore Ravens with 180 yards/game on 5 yards/carry. This season, they're down to less than 100 yards per game on just 3.5/carry.
There have been injuries to the offensive line. However, replacing play caller Kellen Moore may prove to be a more difficult task than once thought.
A little further north on I-95, the New York Football Giants are in the middle of a rebirth, if you will, with rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart under center. The tall, handsome kid from Utah has played well in just two starts this year, defeating the San Diego Chargers in his first game, only to lose to the lowly Saints last week.
There are reports out of the Big Apple that Dart is nursing a hamstring pull, but he insists it's fine. When asked whether he would be in the starting lineup on Thursday Night Football against the Eagles, he responded, "Never a doubt".

Philadelphia Eagles (-7.5) at New York Giants (+7.5)
The line opened at 7.5, and we've seen some action and movement. There are 7s available as well as one (-6.5) for the Eagles if that's what you want. To this point, we've seen about 80% of both the tickets and the money flow in on the Birds.
That’s to be expected. However, I can see the public hammering this hook and potentially making the Giants a public underdog by kickoff on Thursday night.
Hey, we've all been burned at one point or another. The divisional home dogs have been barking. The Niners were more than 8-point dogs, and they won last Thursday in LA.
Point Total: 40.5
Some bettors like the under on this short week. The point total opened up at 41.5, and we've seen it drop to 40.5 at most sportsbooks. Upon further inspection, there is a slight pro vs. joes split on the total here.
With only 55% of the total tickets, 80% of all the money has come in on the over. If you like this play, it's a good idea to bet on it sooner rather than later, as 41 is a key number.
Moneyline Odds
Eagles: -365
Giants: +281
Philadelphia Eagles at New York Giants Betting Analysis
The Eagles have been anemic on the offensive side of the ball, and it's not just the running game. They're bottom 5 in the league passing the pigskin as well. Jalen Hurts has recently come out and taken responsibility. I love that as a leader, and Philly will see some positivity come from that.
Can we take them over a touchdown against the Giants, though, a team that just lost to the New Orleans Saints by two scores?
It's a real shame that Malik Nabers is out for the season. The Giants could have potentially made a run at the postseason. His absence still isn't enough for me to take Philly at more than a touchdown here.
The one unit that has shone for Philly has been their secondary, and that bodes horribly for a rookie quarterback making just his 3rd start at the NFL level.
Even after getting burned on the Bills and the Rams last week, we have to note that neither the Niners nor the Patriots is as bad as the Giants.
The Giants' secondary has been atrocious this year, and something, I don't know what, tells me that this will be a bit of a get-right game for the Philly offense.
Take them to go over their point total of 12.5 in the 1st half for odds of just (-120).
