The disappointing downfall of the Atlanta Falcons is at least somewhat explainable, but what in the world happened to the former MVP candidate Baker Mayfield and his Tampa Bay Buccaneers? After defeating the San Francisco 49ers at home in T-Town back in Week 6, the Bucs have gone 2-5, with their only victories coming against the Saints and the Arizona Cardinals. They, of course, were avenged last week by New Orleans in a game where Mayfield threw for a grand total of 122 yards.

The Dallas Cowboys and Detroit Lions appear to be two teams headed in opposite directions, at least as far as the 2025 season is concerned. Injuries have really caught up to Detroit at this point. Last year, it was the defense that was banged up down the stretch. It hurt them, of course, because they couldn’t stop Jayden Daniels and the Commanders from running up the score in the playoffs.

Welcome to Week 16 of the 2024 NFL Season. Kicking us off on Thursday Night Football is a divisional matchup in Los Angeles between the Chargers and Denver Broncos. LA comes into this one reeling after their worst loss of the season on Sunday. Baker Mayfield lit up the Bolts for 10.7 yards a pass and four touchdowns. Justin Herbert came into the game banged up and ended up leaving before the end, albeit after the game was far out of reach.

The Los Angeles Rams improved to 7-6 on Sunday with a 44-42 win at home over the Buffalo Bills. It was the highest-scoring game of the season in the NFL.

It was right back to work after Thanksgiving for the Green Bay Packers and the Detroit Lions last week because there's no mini-bye for either team. I love how the league set this one up. Neither team should have a scheduling advantage in such a big game. This is the biggest game of the 2024 season thus far. KC versus Buffalo was big. However, for the NFC, this Thursday night football game is gigantic.

It's a short week of work but a busy one, as the NFL has a tripleheader on Thanksgiving once again, along with a Black Friday game for those who would rather stay safe in their living rooms and enjoy some football.
