CFL Prediction From Scott Rickenbach:

Take 'Over' 53.5 BC Lions at Winnipeg (8:30 p.m., Thursday July 30)

The Lions are off a low-scoring loss but certainly should have scored more than 12 points considering they had 320 yards of offense. Winnipeg is off a 52-30 home loss to Calgary and we continue to see very high-scoring games dominate the CFL landscape this season after all the rule changes aimed at increasing scoring. That trend continues here as the Blue Bombers are off B2B games totaling at least 70 points and BC is allowing an average of 30 ppg this season. The Lions have the QB situation right now but, again, they moved the ball better than the points they had to show for it last week. Also, the Blue Bombers will be fired up to put up a ton of points after falling well short versus the Stampeders last week. MLB Prediction From Strike Point Sports:

Take ‘Under’ St. Louis at Toronto (7 p.m., Friday, July 31)

Things have not gone the way the Blue Jays were hoping this season after they were so close to winning a World Series last year. Being the hunted and having a myriad of injuries to their pitching staff has been too much to overcome for Toronto as they are 9 games under .500 and most likely not going to make the playoffs. Dylan Cease has had a great year in his first season with the Blue Jays going 7-5 with a 2.46 ERA and started the All-Star game for the American League. Cease has won three out of his four starts in July allowing just 3 earned runs over 30 innings and I think he can limit the Cardinals who are fading in the NL Central race. Kyle Leahy has had a successful year as he transitioned to a starter this season as he is 7-4 with a 3.55 ERA over 20 starts. Leahy hasn’t been as effective on the road but is facing a struggling Jays lineup that has only scored 28 runs in its last 10 games. The Cardinals have only scored 33 in that same period. Cease is a competitor and is going to give everything he has each time he takes the ball I think he will dominate this Cards lineup and I think Leahy will get straightened out on the road. MLS Soccer Prediction From Robert Ferringo:

Take Orlando City (+0.5, -130) over Red Bull NY (7:30 p.m., Saturday, July 31)

What a different a dude makes. Orlando added French star Antonio Griezman and he has been outstanding for them, scoring in his first match and creating a ton of chances in both outings. Orlando has a very different vibe to them. They went on the road last Wednesday and hammered San Jose 4-0 and then came home and beat the team with the most points in the league, Nashville, 1-0. Orlando City’s defense is playing with more discipline and goalie Maxime Crepeau has a lot of confidence after his World Cup showing with Canada. He also won the goalie competition at the All-Star game and he will carry that confidence into this match. Red Bull is an extremely young team. I don’t think the break was good for this group of kids and they have looked disjointed in their two matches back, both losses. MLS Soccer Prediction From Doc's Sports:

Take San Diego (+220) over Minnesota (8:30 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 1)

We hit a +200 underdog on Orlando in MLS with our free soccer pick last week, and let’s do it again this week. Both sides have struggled this season, but San Diego looks like they are turning their season around and they have a chance to jump Minnesota in the standings with three points here. We think San Diego is the better side, and they should be motivated here. They won their lone visit to Minnesota, 4-2, in their short franchise history. We think they can do it again. They are coming off a 1-0 home win over Dallas. In their inaugural season last year they played well on the road at this point of the season and cashed many plus-money tickets in similar situations. Minnesota is on a six-match winless streak, and they have won just one of their last nine. They have five outright losses during that span. They have just three goals in their last five matches, while San Diego has 11 in the same span. San Diego will be aggressive here and we don’t think the Minnesota offense can match them. Great value here, and the road team has a great chance to steal three points for a massive payout.
