CFL Prediction From Scott Rickenbach:
Take #671 Ottawa (+12.5) at Montreal (7:30 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 20)
The Alouettes are off a bye week and this looks like a tricky spot for them. Montreal is 8-1 this season and taking on a 0-9 Redblacks team. You can just already sense that the Alouettes will come out flat here while there is no doubt that Ottawa is going to come out fired up here as they continue to work hard to get that first win. Yes, the Redblacks lost by 12 last week but a dropped TD pass in the late stages cost them the cover. Ottawa outgained the Blue Bombers in that game so the final score was a bit of a deceiving final. This has helped lead to extra value this week with the big number posted here. Redblacks also have revenge from a 34-13 in their last meeting with this Montreal side. Take Ottawa +12.5 Thursday night. If you don’t have an account at Doc’s Sports sign up now and get $60 in premium member picks click here. Soccer Prediction From Doc's Sports:
Take Tigres UANL (-1.5, +115) over Atlante (9 p.m., Friday, Aug. 21)
Tigres of Liga MX have some work to do as they are all the way down in position No. 16 in the table (of 18 sides). This is a perennial championship contender, and we have no doubt they will rise the standings as the season progresses (13 matches left). This looks like a good spot for them. Atlante is new to The Liga and they were promoted from Liga MX Expansion and they took on Mazatlán’s infrastructure when that side was disbanded after last season. They have been impressive with points in three of four matches so far. They have played a lot in Mexico City, where they reside, but this will be a tough road tilt for them. The last time they went on the road outside of Mexico City was their only loss of the season, to Necaxa, a team that is much worse than Tigres. They suffered a couple bad losses in Leagues Cup, where they were beaten by Salt Lake and Minnesota in the USA with a goal differential of -6. These sides haven’t played in a long time, but Tigres have won the last three meetings by two goals each. It’s not time to panic yet, but Tigres desperately need three points here, and this looks like a great spot at home for them to get back on track. And the value is at the lowest point it will probably be all season for this side, and we will strike while the value is there. Soccer Prediction From Strike Point Sports:
Take Man United (-1.5, +100) over Hull City (7 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 22)
Hull City is back in the Premier League. They are back after a decade bouncing between the Championship and League 1. Hull City advanced thanks to a hot run in the playoffs last spring and will be excited to host this match. Michael Carrick wants to get Man U. off to a hot start this season. He will not toy around with this weaker side. Hull City is dealing with injuries and had eight players unavailable for training this week, including star defender Charlie Hughes. Manchester United will have a more aggressive approach this season. They are going to press high and this is a high-risk, high-reward style. United has played against top sides in friendlies in the run up to the season taking on AC Milan, PSG and Atletico Madrid. They will be ready to go in this match and will take it to overmatched Hull. NFL Preseason Prediction From Raphael Esparza:
Take ‘Under’ 37.0 Atlanta at Indianapolis (1 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 22)
NFL Preseason Week 1 'Unders' was money last weekend, as 16 games were played and 12 of them stayed below the total. The Falcons lost at home last weekend and their offense looked awful and lost. The Falcons only scored 7 points against the Broncos defense, and again that was a home game for Atlanta. The Colts played the New England Patriots and that game ended in a tie 13-13 and I did the math because that game was a dead 'Under' game. I know Preseason Week 2 we see some starters playing but I don't see many points in this game and jump on this number because this could be a solid 36 by kickoff.

NFL Preseason Prediction From Robert Ferringo:
Take ‘Over’ 36.5 Philadelphia at New England (7 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 22)
There is no way that New England’s game against the Colts should’ve stayed ‘under’ last week. There were two missed field goals, a Colts fumble at the goal line and another Colts fumble inside the red zone. The two teams combined for over 630 total yards but only managed 26 points. Josh McDaniels has a history of going hog wild in the preseason and I don’t think he’s going to hold his offense back for all three of these games. By all accounts, the Patriots dominated the first joint practice between these teams this week and the Pats offense was sharp. Philadelphia’s offense was a train wreck last week against Baltimore. The Eagles only mustered 159 total yards – which I thought was a typo – and they didn’t score a single points in the first 57 minutes of the game. I think there is some panic on that side of the ball and the Eagles will put more of their focus there in this second preseason game. They can’t afford to get shut down a second straight time. These are two tough, hard-nosed football teams. They’ve been banging each other all week. I don’t think that same intensity and physicality will be present in this game. It should be played a bit more open and I think at least one team gets to 24 points to push this one ‘over’. It’s not a shootout; but it should be better than what we saw from both attacks last week. College Football Futures Prediction From Robert Ferringo:
Take Air Force ‘Over’ 7.5 Wins (+120)
I’m absolutely buying low on Troy Calhoun and the Falcons this year. Air Force is coming off a rare losing season. Even more, that’s two straight losing seasons for Air Force. The Falcons have only had a losing record three years in a row twice since 1980. The last time it happened was just before Calhoun took over. Air Force had three straight losing years in from 2004-2006. Calhoun stepped right in and led Air Force to nine wins in his first year on the job. Since then, he’s been below .500 in two straight seasons just twice (2012-13 and 2017-18). He rebounded to win 10 games in 2014 and 11 games in 2019. The Mountain West lost a bunch of good programs to the newly reconfigured Pac-12, watering down Air Force’s path to the MWC title. That will give them a significantly easier schedule this season. The Falcons had one of their worst-ever defenses last year. They brought back eight starters on that side of the ball and a little older, a little more experienced, and presumably a bit better. Liam Szarka should lead a potent offense and Air Force’s continuity is now an advantage in the era of the transfer portal. The Falcons get three of their first four games at home and their first two home games are at Nevada and Northern Illinois, two teams that went a combined 6-18 last year. Air Force also has UTEP (2-10) and San Jose State (3-9) on the schedule this year. They avoid Hawaii and get UNLV at home and there is clearly a path to a double-digit win season. I have Air Force at 9-3 in the regular season and I think they will make the MWC title game. I love the plus-money value on this pick and this is a must-play. NFL Prop Play Prediction From Tony George:
Take David Montgomery (Houston) ‘Over’ 824.5 Season Rushing Yards
Have no illusions; Montgomery was a great free agent signing for Houston. He was a secondary back to Gibbs last year at Detroit and still racked up 716 yards and 4.5 yards per carry. Houston desperately needed an RB last year besides rookie Woody Marks and Joe Mixon who had a monster 2024 for them but was hurt all year. With a featured back like Montgomery, CJ Stroud has less pressure in the pocket because defenses have to stay honest with a big RB threat, and Houston will feature him in their offense this year. He can take plays off and stay fresh with Marks coming in, who proved his worth last year big time. I have Montgomery projected at 950 yards this year and many fantasy sites have him projected at over 1000+ yards and he makes Houston's offense much more diverse. He also is very durable and is rarely injured. Play ‘over’ on his season yards. If you don’t have an account at Doc’s Sports sign up now and get $60 in premium member picks click here.
