Most people who wager on sports tend to stick with bets on the sides and total line in a particular matchup, but they may be missing a golden opportunity to supplement this action with a few extra wagers on some of the player prop bet odds that sportsbooks release in conjunction with that day's games.

The following is a brief look at a few player prop odds for Monday's NBA games along with my free picks for these betting odds as provided by Bovada and Sportsbook.ag.

Most Points Scored on Monday Night

Bovada has posted betting odds for which NBA player will score the most points of anyone on its list in their game on Monday night. Looking down at the names, you can get John Wall from Washington at 20/1 odds in the Wizards' road game at Charlotte or Golden State's Klay Thompson at 10/1 in the Warriors' game on that road at Phoenix, but I am going chalk in this player prop with a play on Anthony Davis in New Orleans' road game against Milwaukee at 4/1 betting odds.

Anthony returned to action last Wednesday after missing his previous five starts with injured shoulder and immediately returned to form with 39 points in 42 minutes of action against Detroit. He followed up that performance with 29 points in Friday's loss to Boston, and this past Saturday he pumped in 23 points in a key 95-89 victory against Memphis.

The Pelicans are battling for a spot in the Western Conference playoffs at 34-29 heading into Monday night's contest against the Bucks, and it will probably once again take a huge effort from Davis to get his team the win against a very stingy defense. He leads New Orleans with 24.3 points per game, which is the fourth-highest total in the league. The three players ahead of Davis on that list (Russell Westbrook, James Harden and LeBron James) are all idle this Monday night.

Memphis Grizzlies vs. Chicago Bulls Player Specials

Sportsbook.ag has released a whole set of prop specials for Monday night's Grizzlies at Bulls' matchup for each of the team's top players, but the one that caught my eye was the +300 betting odds that the Grizzlies' Zach Randolph will have two or more steals and Memphis goes on to win the game.

Randolph is averaging one steal a game this season, but heading into Monday's contest he has two or more steals in six of his last 13 games, including three in this past Saturday's 95-89 loss to New Orleans. He also had three steals in last Wednesday's 102-100 victory against Houston.

The tricky part of this prop is that Memphis has to win the game, but I do like its chances given the loss its last time out. The Grizzlies have only lost back-to-back games twice over the course of their last 33 outings.

Dwyane Wade's Total Points against Boston

Sportsbook.ag has set the betting odds for Miami's Dwyane Wade's total points in Monday's home game against the Boston Celtics at 21.5 with the same -120 betting money line for either the "over" or the "under" as long as he starts.

Wade is averaging 20.9 PPG. However, in the absence of the Heat's leading scorer Chris Bosh, who remains out of the lineup with a lung issue, he has upped his game with 25 points in last Wednesday's 100-94 victory against the Los Angeles Lakers and 28 points in Saturday's 114-109 victory against Sacramento.

Over the course of Wade's last four starts he has raised his scoring average to 22.8 points, making the pick for this player prop "over" 21.5 points.
