NBA Betting Help: ATS and Over Under Hot and Cold
As we head into the All-Star Break, lets dive into what teams have been exceptional, as well as the contrary. Now that the trade deadline has come and passed, we can determine if their current form is sustainable after the break. Here we will look at some hot and cold ATS teams as well as some that are streaking to the over or under.

Teams:
Hot:
Memphis Grizzlies [9-1 ATS in Last 10]: Whether you like it not, the trash-talking ballers in Memphis are playing some of the best basketball in the league. Led by Ja Morant, and upstart Desmond Bane, their only loss in their last 10 games was in Philadelphia in overtime, which came down to a crunch time free throw that was missed. This is a team that doesn’t take games off and plays like they are one game away from making the playoffs each time out. I would not want to see myself matched up with this team come playoff time because they can beat anyone.
Upcoming Key Matchups: 2/26 @ CHI, 3/3 @ BOS
Toronto Raptors [8-2 ATS in Last 10]: Spicy P and the boys are finally starting to assert themselves as a legitimate contender in the East. They lack a true center but have size and defensive skill at every position, making them extremely hard to beat when they are clicking. This year, it took a bit to click with the combination of injuries and COVID plaguing them for what felt like an eternity. Look for Toronto to keep up the good play and be a middle-seeded playoff team.
Upcoming Key Matchups: 2/16 @ MIN, 3/6 @ CLE
Cold:
Houston Rockets [2-8 ATS in Last 10]: The Rockets are an absolute mess right now. They have some youth and some talent, but it appears that their star players have already mentally checked out and are ready for the offseason and to try again next year. They are built around Christian Wood and Kevin Porter Jr., who can both ball, but they haven’t yet figured out how to assimilate and try and utilize the rest of their team to try and be a well-oiled machine. There is a lot of athleticism and upside on this team, but maybe next year, Houston.
Upcoming Key Matchups: 2/16 @ PHO, 3/2 vs. UTA
New York Knicks [2-8 ATS in Last 10]: The Knicks have really missed RJ Barrett of late, it seemed like the emotional torch was passed to him in their home win against the Clippers, where he went off and had a double-double. But the struggles for New York came long before this, as they have been able to get leads in games, but the second half has them getting in their own way and not having the mental fortitude necessary to close out games.
Upcoming Key Matchups: 2/25 vs. MIA, 3/2 @ PHI
Total Trends:
Over:
The Sacramento Kings are 5-1 to the over in their last six games: The Kings are a team in flux, as they shipped away two key pieces in Tyrese Haliburton and Buddy Hield to get Domantas Sabonis. Look for them to keep playing at a fast pace, led by De’Aaron Fox, while they get their chemistry together on the defensive end of things.
The Indiana Pacers are 8-1 to the over in their last nine games: Speaking of this trade, the Pacers have been a roster in flux all season, with injuries and uncertainty. However, now that the deadline has passed, the new faces have brought a spark to their offense. I expect a few games before the books catch up.
The Minnesota Timberwolves are 24-7 to the over on away games this season: It appears that the Timberwolves do not bring their defense on the road. They try to ride the villain narrative to victory. And while the results aren’t as lopsided as the O/U, the intent is clear.
The Grizzlies are 7-0 to the over in their last seven games: The Grizzlies are an elite team offensively, and they have made this year about imposing their will on whoever they are up against. While there are some games that they get challenged and have to fight not having their “A” game, the under is rarely a smart bet when playing a Grizzlies game.
Under:
The Utah Jazz are 5-1 to the under in their last six games: While Rudy Gobert makes his presence known as an elite defender, he had been used in the pick and roll game a bunch this season, and the Jazz’s offense has not been as efficient without him. They have had success without overextending, so I think this is a trend we could see continue.
The Dallas Mavericks are 5-1 to the under in their last six games: Ever since the team got hit hard with COVID, Jason Kidd has preached defense. As people started to come back, he realized it was working, and the whole team bought in. Now they look like a legit threat, and it is always nice when you have someone on your side like Luka Doncic who can go get you a bucket, even in the sloppiest of games.
The Brooklyn Nets are 8-0 to the under in their last eight games vs. teams with losing records: This Nets team has been a mess to bet on. They showed up big in Chicago, and really haven’t done much of anything since. Now that they have a roster they are happy with, they should start to believe in each other and get some better results, both in winning and in terms of scoring.
