NBA props picks Tyler Herro Miami Heat

The NBA playoffs continue Wednesday night, and there is some value across the board with our carefully chosen NBA player props. Last night we witnessed King James and company taking down the New Orleans Pelicans to clinch the No. 7 seed in the Western Conference. The Sacramento Kings sent Steph Curry and the Warriors packing for an early offseason. Our picks went 2-4 last night (37-33 overall), and we will try and improve on that mark Wednesday evening. The Miami Heat will take on Joel Embiid and the 76ers in the opening contest, followed by the Atlanta Hawks and Chicago Bulls. Tyler Herro, Miami Heat, OVER 4.5 assists (-105)

For our first play on Wednesday night, we are targeting Tyler Herro’s assist total against the 76ers. Terry Rozier has already been ruled out for this matchup, and that will benefit Herro’s playmaking ability. Rozier has not played in the last three games, and Herro has cleared this total in all three games. He is averaging 9.7 potential assists in that span and dished out eight dimes against the Raptors in the tail end of a back-to-back, five assists against Toronto in the first game, and six dimes against Dallas. Herro should get full minutes in a highly competitive game against the 76ers, so take the over on his assists.

Tyrese Maxey, Philadelphia 76ers, OVER 5.5 assists (-120)

Staying within the Heat and 76ers matchup, Maxey should be the key facilitator for the 76ers offense on Wednesday night. The Miami Heat defense gives up the 9th most assists to the point guard position per game and it certainly helps that Joel Embiid is back. Maxey will look for the big man early and often. Maxey has cleared this line in three straight games against Miami and four out of his last five overall against tonight’s foe.

Kyle Lowry, Philadelphia 76ers, OVER 5.5 points (-110)

Lowry has covered this line in two games against the Heat this season and three out of his last four since Embiid has come back to the lineup. I am counting on Lowry to get a slight uptick in minutes since it is a playoff game. Coaches like to rely on veterans in big games and Lowry has the experience to step up in this contest. There should also be a little more motivation playing against his old team. Look for Lowry to reach six points on Wednesday night.

Dejounte Murray, Atlanta Hawks, OVER 2.5 threes (-140)

Moving on to the nightcap, our first selection is Murray’s three-point total. He has cleared this total in eight out of his last 10 games and the Bulls give up the 4th most threes to the point guard position. It should be easier to get clean looks with Trae Young back in the lineup. Murray should be able to spot up for good shots, rather than taking them off the dribble or in transition. He is going to have to knock down his shots to keep the Hawks’ playoff hopes alive.

Trae Young, Atlanta Hawks, OVER 10.5 assists (-104)

Young has cleared this total in two out of three games since his return from injury. His shooting has been cold, but you can rely on Trae to dish the rock to his teammates and put them in great positions to score. He is averaging 10.5 APG over his last 10 games played and is averaging 18 potential assists when he logs 30+ minutes. In his two games against the Chicago Bulls this season he has tallied 13 and 14 assists respectively.

DeMar DeRozan, Chicago Bulls, OVER 29.5 points (-110)

DeRozan has scored 30+ points in four straight games entering the play-in tournament and I envision his success to continue. If this game is anywhere near close down the stretch, DeMar will see the ball just about every trip down the floor. In five April games, he is averaging almost 22 shot attempts per game in that span. There is no reason to believe that DeRozan will slow down and another huge game should be expected by the Bulls’ best player.
