Sunday Night Football Picks: Green Bay Packers vs Pittsburgh Steelers

Unfortunately, the game isn't in Green Bay, but Pittsburgh Steelers future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers has a chance by the end of Sunday night to say that he's played and defeated every last NFL team.
Not surprisingly, his former squad, the Green Bay Packers, is the only organization that has yet to fall to Rodgers. Well, I know he blew at least a couple of games over the course of his time as a Packer, but I digress.
Rodgers is a Steeler now, and even though it hasn't been that pretty, he has his team sitting atop the NFC North with a record of 4-2. It could have easily been 5-1, though, had they not fallen victim last week to the Joe Flacco effect in Cincinnati.
The word is that Lamar Jackson is back this week for the Baltimore Ravens. Therefore, the Steelers better keep it tight, even though they’re up 3.5 games over them.
Don’t believe me? The sportsbooks have the Ravens and Steelers virtually dead even at (+125) and (+130), respectively, to win the AFC North. I don’t expect Pittsburgh to be comfortable.
The Steelers do come into this one off of a Thursday night game, so they’ll have a few extra days of rest.
The Green Bay Packers have won their last two games against the Bengals and Cardinals after that weird tie against the Dallas Cowboys. People aren’t putting much stock into the Pack lately, especially after how much everyone adored them during the first few weeks of the season.
It came down to a hail mary attempt from Jacoby Brissett, but the Pack held on against a Cardinals team that was on a mission. I'm not hearing anyone mention that Brissett is good and typically performs well in these situations.
Arizona also wants to play hard for him. If the rest of the football world knows that Kyler Murray stinks, then his teammates definitely do. I rate the Packers' win on Sunday higher than most.

Green Bay Packers (-3) at Pittsburgh Steelers (+3)
I can see one sportsbook out there trying to get someone to take the (-3.5) at (+110). We opened at (-3) and haven't moved. I don't expect to see either team get a ton more action. The Packers have been quiet lately, and I'm not sure even the public wants to back Aaron Rodgers against his old coach.
Point Total: 44.5
The point total opened at 43, and not surprisingly, we've seen money come in on the over, pushing this line to 44.5 or 45. It was pros and joes hammering this thing, and it doesn't look like they're going to stop.
Moneyline Odds
Packers: -176
Steelers: +144
Green Bay Packers at Pittsburgh Steelers Betting Analysis
People look at the numbers, and they believe in this Steelers offense. Against a strong defense, I, however, do not.
They dink and dunk too much. I understand they don't have much of a choice, but I don't think that'll fly against elite defenses.
Is Green Bay’s defense on that level, though?
They are #4 in the league in yards/rush allowed, 1st in the league in yards/pass attempt, and 1st in yards per play overall. That’s pretty solid.
The Packer defense has struggled with forcing turnovers, intercepting less than 1% of opposing quarterbacks' passes, and their overall turnover margin is 0.0. They've also been mediocre on 3rd down and in the red zone.
Do we bet against Mike Tomlin as a home underdog? We've got Micah Parsons coming off a hat trick, three-sack performance where the team got to Brissett six times.
If it weren’t for the extra rest, homefield, Tomlin trends, and this potential beat every team milestone, I would lean Packers.
Just take the over. More than 90% of both the tickets and the money are pouring in on it.
