Sunday Night Football Picks: Dallas Cowboys vs Green Bay Packers Best Bets

Sunday Night Football is headed to Lambeau Field as the Dallas Cowboys come to town to square off against the Green Bay Packers. Dallas is coming off a horrendous loss to the beat-up Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and they are now looking to find some momentum again for the season as they fight to keep playoff hopes alive. All five of Dallas’ games have been decided by one possession, and three of those have resulted in losses. Green Bay on the other hand is coming off a big, dominant win over their historic rival Chicago Bears. The Packers shut down the Bears offense, winning 31-7. Former Dallas Cowboy, Micah Parsons will be inactive ahead of this showdown against his former team. The big storyline in this one will be what Cowboys team shows up this week.

Sunday Night Football Dallas Cowboys Game Preview
The Cowboys are coming off one of the biggest let-down performances in franchise history. After dominating the first half, defensively, the Cowboys had a huge regression after halftime, allowing Tampa Bay to tally 17 third quarter points. Tampa Bay finished the game with over 400 yards of offense, outgaining the Cowboys by 53 yards. 241 of Tampa Bay’s yards came on the ground, with an average of 6.2 YPC. Dallas’ offense was held back by three second-half turnovers, and the fact that CeeDee Lamb only had two catches for nine yards. Overall, the Cowboys have stayed true to character with an explosive offense and a terrible defense. Dallas is averaging 27.6 PPG on offense but is allowing 27.2 PPG on defense, and they have given up the second most yards in the NFL.
If Dallas wants to win this game, they need the run defense to step up big time after their lousy performance from a week ago. While Green Bay doesn’t have a quality back like Bucky Irving, MarShawn Lloyd and company will still do some damage. Dallas also needs to limit the turnovers. The Cowboys have a -3-turnover differential through five games which ranks in the lower third of the league. It would also help if Lamb could find more than two receptions in this one.

Sunday Night Football Green Bay Packers Game Preview
The Packers are coming off their biggest win of the season as they dismantled their beat-up rivals. The Packers outgained the Bears by nearly 200 yards, forced five turnovers, and only let Chicago convert 28.5% of their third down conversions. Jordan Love looked elite in this one completing 25 of his 31 passes for 367 yards, and he recorded two passing touchdowns. Mar’Shawn Lloyd added another two touchdowns on the ground, though Green Bay only averaged 2.7 YPC. Xavier McKinney had himself a big game as he brought in two interceptions, and Devonte Wyatt recorded two sacks. Through the first five games of the season Green Bay ranks 16th in YPG as they average 331.4 YPG and 20.8 PPG. Defensively, Green Bay allows just 22.4 PPG, and they rank eighth in the league in allowed YPG (308.6).
If Love can play the way he did last week, the Packers can stretch this Cowboys defense and do anything they want to. If Jalon Daniels can have an impact against this Dallas secondary, there is little reason to think Love won’t do the same. If Love get some help from his ground game, then he may have a career day. Defensively, the Packers need to force Prescott into uncomfortable situations, keep consistent pressure on the veteran QB, and force some turnovers.
Green Bay Packers 3 Keys to Victory

- Ground Game Needs to Go Wild
- Make Dak Prescott Uncomfortable

Sunday Night Football Game Predictions
I am going to first take the over in this one. Both offense love to hit explosive plays, and we should see no shortage in points, especially with all the defensive players dealing with injuries on both sides. In the end, I expect Green Bay to use home field advantage here and really put a dent into the Cowboys confidence in this one. Green Bay should be able to do whatever they want on offense, and if they can force Prescott into some uncomfortable situations, they will get some turnovers. Green Bay should take care of business in this one.
My Pick: Green Bay Packers, -1.5 / Over 52.5
