Murphy cashed a 7-Unit UFC ticket last week and he is also up +3,735 with his last 43 WNBA predictions. MLB Prediction From Nick Menken:
Take Boston (-1.5) over Baltimore (1 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 28)
We have the Boston Red Sox and the Baltimore Orioles here on Thursday. This is going to be a great pitching matchup in this one today with Garrett Crochet and Dean Kremer on the mound. While currently the Orioles are still two games below 500 here at home this season. The Red Sox are five games under on the road. But they have their ace on the mound in Garrett Crochet. This season Crochet is 14-5 on the season with 207 strikeouts. His ERA sits at 2.38 on the season. He has been lights out in a Red Sox uniform. His last start came against the Yankees, where he went 7 innings of work with 5 hits and only one earned run. For Dean Kremer, he is coming off a tough outing against the Astros where he went 5 innings of work with 7 hits and 6 earned runs. Clearly looking to bounce back from his last start against the Red Sox, but this offense continues to produce runs. As they’re currently 4th in MLB in runs per game. Think this game is going to be one-sided with the Red Sox here today with their ace on the mound. Take the Red Sox on the run line over the Orioles.

College Football Prediction From Scott Spreitzer:
Take 166 Sam Houston State (+10.5) over UNLV (9:30 p.m., Friday, Aug. 26)
Former Rebel HC Barry Odom turned the program around then headed for West Lafayette and the brass had a chance to promote OC Brennan Marion but instead went for the sexier name, Dan Mullen. UNLV went through a massive roster turnover during the summer and it showed against lowly Idaho State on Saturday with the defense allowing 7.21 yards per play, including 7.6 yards per pass and 6.4 yards per carry. I can’t remember the last time I saw such poor tackling by a defense (17 missed tackles) and I highly doubt the lack of fundamentals will improve in a few days of practice. We had SHSU on Saturday and they led WKU 24-20 in the second half. The Bearkats out-gained WKU in yards per play, averaging 6.26 but failed miserably on third and fourth downs. They also had the ball at the WKU 1-yard line with a chance to cover the 10.5 point spread late but fell short. SHSU had its chances while UNLV nearly lost outright as a 30-point favorite. I’m taking the points with Sam Houston. Thanks & GL! Scott Spreitzer. If you don’t have an account at Doc’s Sports sign up now and get $60 in premium member picks click here. College Football Prediction From Doc's Sports:
Take ‘Over’ 50.5 Syracuse vs. Tennessee (Noon, Saturday, Aug. 30)
Just feel both offenses will put up some points in this neutral site game in Atlanta, GA. Syracuse quietly won 10 games last season and will again have to move the football through the air. Tennessee plays up-tempo and likes to score quick in their drives against tired defenders. We will not worry if Tennessee can cover this number and instead just focus on the over. Do not miss out on Doc’s Sports weekend card featuring plays in FCS, CFL, MLB, WNBA, UFC, and Soccer. We are coming off 3 straight winning weeks of football and now is the time to jump on board with a veteran handicapper that has been in business since 1971. College Football Prediction From Raphael Esparza:
Take Tennessee (-14) over Syracuse (Noon, Saturday Aug. 30)
This number opened at 12.5 over the summer and now its sits at two touchdowns but I still see value with the Vols. Syracuse won four straight games to close out last year but this team this year is not even close to what we saw in the Bowl Game versus Washington St. This game is being played in Atlanta, Georgia but I see the crowd being Vols-Orange and I see the Vols winning by 17-points or more. Tennessee is 15-3 ATS in their last 18 non-conference games. If you don’t have an account at Doc’s Sports sign up now and get $60 in premium member picks click here. College Football Prediction From Scott Rickenbach:
Take #203 Northwestern (+5.5) over Tulane (Noon, Saturday, Aug. 30)
This line is around a 5.5 at the time of this write-up and the points seem generous when you consider Tulane is off a solid season but lost a lot from last year's team including plenty of key contributors on offense. That includes the skill positions of QB and RB plus a number of WR's too and that could see the Green Wave struggle some early this season. The Wildcats come from the Big Ten so they are no stranger to facing tough matchups and they certainly won't be phased by facing a Tulane team from a weaker conference. Northwestern is off a 4-8 season but, again, they play in a very tough conference. Look for SMU transfer QB Preston Stone to produce well for the Wildcats here and this is going to be a tough match-up for Tulane. Note that 2 of those 4 Cats wins last season were not only underdog upsets they were on the road as well! Per the above, this looks like a great spot for the road underdog to get the outright upset or at least stay within the number here. College Football Prediction From Strike Point Sports:
Take #191 Toledo (+9) over Kentucky (12:45 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 30)
Kentucky should be on upset alert! Toledo went into SEC country last year and they blew out Mississippi State 41-17 as a 10.5-point underdog. The Rockets also beat Pittsburgh as an underdog in their bowl game. Toledo is 4-0 ATS in its last four games against teams from power conferences. The Rockets are the favorites to win the MAC this year and they will be excited at a chance to beat another SEC opponent. Kentucky closed out last year going 1-6 SU and their only win was over Murray State as a 42-point favorite. Toledo played at Kentucky in 2019 and they were tied at halftime with the Wildcats. This will be another close game. Take the points. If you don’t have an account at Doc’s Sports sign up now and get $60 in premium member picks click here. College Football Prediction From Robert Ferringo:
Take #211 Alabama (-13.5) over Florida State (3:30 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 30)
I am now 54-27 (67%) with my last 81 Doc’s Sports newsletter plays. We have racked up 80 of 119 wins in this space (67%) and I am 125-68 (65%) with my newsletter plays over the last 193 weeks. As for this game, Tommy Castellanos should’ve kept his mouth shut. The former Boston College quarterback – who quit on his team last year because of issues over NIL payments and who has completed just 58.6 percent of his career passes – thought it would be a good idea to call out the Alabama defense over the summer. He said that the Tide, “don’t have Nick Saban to save them.” Not smart! I wonder if that got mentioned around Alabama camp 1,000 times. Kalen DeBoer is entering his second season with the Crimson Tide. The roster is stacked with his guys and he welcomed back the offensive coordinator he had in Washington, Ryan Grubb. Alabama only won two games by fewer than two touchdowns last year (Georgia, South Carolina) so when they beat people they beat the piss out of them. They won 42-10 at Wisconsin and 42-13 at LSU last season, so blowout road wins aren’t out of the question either and I see another one here. If you don’t have an account at Doc’s Sports sign up now and get $60 in premium member picks click here. Existing clients call or email today and we will give you a discount on premium package. MLB Prediction From Vernon Croy:
Take N.Y. Mets over Miami (7 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 28)
Now let's get to your MLB comp play for Thursday August 28th, 2025, between the Miami Marlins and New York Mets. Miami sends Junk to the mound and he has an ERA of 6.00 over his last five starts. New York counters with Holmes who has an ERA of 4.43 over his last five starts. Holmes is coming off a solid outing allowing just one earned run in five innings of work against Seattle and I do expect a strong start from him at home here Thursday night. So we are taking the New York Mets on the moneyline. If you don’t have an account at Doc’s Sports sign up now and get $60 in premium member picks click here. Existing clients call or email today and we will give you a discount on premium package. Call 1-866-238-6696 or email service@docsports.com and mention newsletter discount. Offer expires at 6 p.m., Friday, Aug. 29.
MLB Prediction From Griffin Murphy:
Take Boston (-1.5) over Pittsburgh (1:35 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 31)
Boston comes into this game 71-60 on the year, 41-25 at home, and fighting for the number 1 spot in the AL East. Boston has everything to play for here, whilst Pittsburgh is dead last in the NL Central and dwindling for the rest of the season. Pittsburgh is a brutal 18-44 on the road, 57-74 on the year, and 30th in the MLB when it comes to offensive runs per game. Boston is averaging 5 runs per game, which ranks them 4th in the MLB in offensive production. We don't see how Pittsburgh is going to sustain this Red Sox offense, especially at Fenway Park, where this team has been utterly sensational all season long. Lay the run-line with the Red Sox here, as we expect this game to be a blowout. 29.
NFL Futures Prediction From Strike Point Sports:
Take Houston Texans ‘Over’ 9.5 Wins (+100)
The Houston Texans were an average football team and won 10 games last year. Their biggest issue was their offensive line, and yes, it’s still not great but it will be improved. The Texans offense will be more efficient and their defense will make the necessary adjustments to be even better. Houston should once again be the best team in the AFC South so that gives them a 4-2 record, at worst there. The NFC and AFC West are the cross overs for the South this season and although they have some good teams that isn’t a daunting task. At worst I see that as a 5-3 record. This would give Houston 9 wins. The Texans would need to find one more win out of Buffalo, Baltimore, and Tampa Bay. This is a tough task but at worst I like them to get a win here getting Houston to 10 wins. The games that will have the biggest impact (Buffalo, San Francisco, and Denver, are all in Houston, which is huge for this seasons win total. Give me the Texans at OVER 9.5.
