RAPHAEL ESPARZA is excited about NFL Week 1. He will have his first top play going Sunday (5-Units). Esparza is up +6,870 this season with his MMA/UFC selections and has a 6-Unit UFC Play for this weekend’s action in Arizona. He cashed his 7-Unit UFC Play last week (+770), and he is 19-5, +7,300 with his last 24 UFC/MMA plays. Esparza is now 13-6 on his last 19 WNBA plays rated 5.0+ and when the WNBA comes back from the tournament break he will extend his winning season. NFL Prediction From Strike Point Sports:
Take 'Under' 48.5 San Francisco at L.A. Rams (8:35 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 10)
This is a big game to start the season overseas. Both teams are traveling a tremendous distance, and playing on a field, and in conditions they are not used to. It is also early in the season, where the defenses will be further ahead than the offenses. The Rams are dealing with a few players less than 100 percent, and the 49ers have had to deal with offseason drama. To be completely honest I see this game struggling to get to 40-42 points let alone high 40s. The public wants to see a close high scoring game here between two NFC West rivals, but they aren't going to get the "high scoring" part. I like a 21-17 type game here. Give me the 'under'. MLB Prediction From Strike Point Sports:
Take L.A. Dodgers (-1.5) over Miami (7:10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11)
Miami has had a heck of a season, but I think they are going to fall just short of making the playoffs as they don’t have enough talent to contend with the Dodgers and the upper echelon teams in the National League. Los Angeles had a lull shortly after the trade deadline, but they are rounding into playoff form and with so much talent at their disposal they are going to be one tough out. Blake Snell has been unbelievable in his return to the starting rotation as he has allowed a mere 3 earned runs on 15 hits while striking out 38 batters over 29 innings (5 starts), and I don’t see why the Miami offense would have different results. Ryan Guston has been pretty good over his last 7 starts allowing more than 2 earned runs just once, but he only has one win to show for it because he has only made it through 5 innings twice. I think the Dodgers pick up another win in this one and continue their push to the playoffs. If you don’t have an account at Doc’s Sports sign up now and get $60 in premium member picks click here. College Football Prediction From Doc's Sports:
Take #344 Syracuse over California (3:30 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 12)
Both teams have a game under their belt and we will follow the line movement in this game. Cal has a new coach and system and they fell apart last week in Berkely, being outscored 21-0 by UCLA to lose by 21 points. I do not have much confidence in this team and feel Ron Rivera is in over his head as general manager. Syracuse got some confidence last week destroying New Hampshire and they did win at Cal in 2024 en route to a 10-win season. I see them bouncing back this year and making a bowl game. They should be able to win this game by double digits. Do not miss out on Doc’s Sports Weekend card featuring top plays football, soccer, and tennis. College Football Prediction From Arun Shiva:
Take 'Under' 60.0 UL-Lafayette vs. USC (11 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 12)
Free pick win in the last newsletter with the FSU/SMU 'Under' 53.5. Let's take the 'Under' 60 here between these two teams. Yes, Louisiana Lafayette rolled last game by scoring 38 points against Lamar but they will face a much tougher defense as they roll into USC. Coach Michael Desormeaux is in his 5th year in the program, a former QB himself, returns 7 starters on the offensive side of the ball and several experienced offensive lineman. He knows he will not be able to keep up with USC's potent offense so what he will likely do, as he has the personnel to do it, try to slow this game down as much as possible to keep that potent offense off the field. Look for a surprising under as USC also might have a bit of an offensive let down after the dominating performance against Fresno State. NFL Prediction From Robert Ferringo:
Take Jacksonville (-8.5) over Cleveland (1 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 13)
Three straight free play winners in this space and we’ll look to do it again. I know that big underdogs normally fare very well in Week 1 of the season, with dogs of 5.5 or more going 18-6 ATS in the season opener over the last five years. But nope. I don’t see a scenario where the Browns don’t get run out of the building here. Todd Monken has never been a head coach at any level, so this is his first game in charge. Cleveland’s offensive and defensive coordinators have never been coordinators at any level, so this is their first game in charge. The Browns will start three rookies on offense and have six more first-year players coming off the bench on both sides of the ball. Those nine first-year players will go along with the 11 second-year guys on the roster, making this Browns team one of the youngest in football (No. 31 in average age). Cleveland is also leaning on DeShaun Watson, who absolutely cannot play quarterback at anywhere close to an elite level anymore. Watson hasn’t been good since 2020; yes, it has been that long. The Jaguars forced 22 interceptions last season and Watson and his rookie receivers are going to give it away at least once in this game. Cleveland’s defense is also going to take a step back after losing Myles Garrett and Jim Schwartz. The Browns will have to deal with the heat and humidity in Jacksonville as well and I think they are going to wear down and roll over as Jacksonville racks up a two-score win. Let’s call it 27-16 for the home team with a couple garbage time Browns scores making this game look closer than it actually will be. NFL Prediction From Raphael Esparza:
Take New Orleans (+7) over Detroit (1 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 13)
I'm not saying that the New Orleans Saints are going to pull off the road upset on Sunday, but I do see them making a game out of it. NFL underdogs of 7-points or more in Week 1 are usually a bet I'm looking at. The Saints were one of the hottest teams to close out the season last year, going 4-1. But in their last 6 games they covered all 6 of those games. Last year the Lions went 9-8 after winning the division in back-to-back seasons, and I do see them struggling again to pull off big victories. The Lions to start the season 1-0 but covering this touchdown number will be difficult. If you don’t have an account at Doc’s Sports sign up now and get $60 in premium member picks click here. NFL Prediction From Nick Menken:
Take ‘Over’ 47.5 Baltimore at Indianapolis (1 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 13)
Week 1 inside a fast dome track is the ideal canvas for an offensive shootout. The Baltimore Ravens arrive fully healthy, led by Lamar Jackson at the helm. Jackson’s dual-threat capability forces opposing linebackers into constant stress, creating massive explosive-play opportunities downfield and inside the red zone. With Baltimore's offensive line fully intact and ready to set a physical tone, the Ravens should have no problem putting up points right out of the gate. Indianapolis is far from a letdown squad when playing at home. The Colts' offense, anchored by star running back Jonathan Taylor, a physical ground game to set up high-percentage play-action passes.. Taylor’s ability to move the chains keeps the defense honest and ensures Indianapolis can match Baltimore drive-for-drive. With both teams fielding healthy offensive cores on a fast surface, expect sustained drives, quick tempo, and plenty of fireworks past the secondary. NFL Prediction From Jason Sharpe:
Take 'Under' 50.0 New Orleans at Detroit (1 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 13)
The offenses are generally behind the defenses in the first week of the NFL season making scoring 50+ points in the season opener very difficult. Though it was just preseason the Detroit Lions looked to be much improved on the defensive side of the football this year especially with their pass rush. The Lions dealt with an historic number of injuries last year on that side of the football as well and are now much healthier especially along their front seven. On other side of things New Orleans had the 2nd highest number of games go below the total last year with 12 of their 17 and the Saints offense was also the lowest scoring offense in the NFC in 2025. Play 'under' the total. If you don’t have an account at Doc’s Sports sign up now and get $60 in premium member picks click here. NFL Futures Prediction From Robert Ferringo:
Take Minnesota Vikings ‘Over’ 8.5 Wins (-120)
A lot of people aren’t sure about the Minnesota Vikings this year. They love the Bears. They love the Lions. But they aren’t sure about the Vikings They don’t know about Kyler Murray. ‘I just don’t know…” Well, I know. The Vikings are going to be GOOD. In fact, I like them to win the NFC North at +550. This team won nine games last year with a poo-poo platter of J.J. McCarthy, Max Brosmer and Carson Wentz at quarterback. That’s insane! Murray may never turn out to be the superstar that everyone expected him to be as a No. 1 pick in Arizona. But Arizona is the West Coast N.Y. Jets. That is an organization of losers. And despite that, Murray made a couple of Pro Bowls and took Arizona to the playoffs as an 11-win team in 2021. Murray had to deal with clown coaches like Kliff Kingsbury and Jon Gannon and frequently had an overmatched roster. Now he gets Jut Jefferson, Jordan Addison, T.J. Hockenson, a solid running game, and a Brian Flores-led defense. Oh, and Kevin O’Connell, who has revitalized the careers of guys like Sam Darnold and Daniel Jones in the past two years. I think Murray is going to be a revelation this year. He’s going to be really, really good and the Vikings are going to be a playoff team. This is an easy ‘over’ call.
