MLB Prediction From Strike Point Sports:

Take ‘Under’ 9.0 Miami at Kansas City (7:40 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 3)

Two excellent pitchers will take the mound in the final game of this three-game series. Sandy Alcantara has a 3.46 ERA on the season and has gone ‘under’ the total in 10 of 11 starts. He is coming off a rare down start. He allowed four runs in six innings at Washington. The ‘under’ is 4-2 after Alcantara allows four earned runs or more this season. He has 24 strikeouts to just one walk in his last four starts. The ‘under’ is 7-2 in the last nine meetings between these two teams and the two starters should dominate this game and keep it under. College Football Prediction From Raphael Esparza:

Take 'Over' 55 San Jose State at Eastern Michigan (6:30 p.m., Friday, Sept. 4)

Both teams played in College Football Week Zero and Friday night I see some points hitting the scoreboard. San Jose scored 26 points against the USC defense in SoCal and all those points came in the second half. Spartans QB Luke Weaver had no interceptions against USC and if didn't throw a pick last week I see him having another good game this Friday. Eastern Michigan had issues scoring in the second half against Sacramento St but I see them being able to run the ball against the Spartans defense. College Football Prediction From Robert Ferringo:

Take Syracuse (-33.5) over New Hampshire (Noon, Saturday, Sept. 5)

Back-to-back free player winners in this space and we’ll look to do it again. Syracuse is excited to open the season after the train wreck that last year turned into. The Orange fell apart in 2025 when quarterback Steve Angeli went down. He is back healthy and should be ready to flex in his second year in this offense. Syracuse is 4-1 ATS in its last five games against FCS opponents. They have averaged nearly 60 points per game against those weaker foes. Head coach Fran Brown needs a convincing win to soothe the fan base and I don’t see him holding back. New Hampshire lost to a bad Ball State team last season and was whitewashed 57-3 at Central Florida in 2024. I look for Syracuse to run this one up and win 49-13. College Football Prediction From Doc's Sports:

Take ‘Under’ Marshall at Penn State (3:30 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 5)

The Matt Campbell era gets underway at Penn State on Saturday. Penn State should still have a strong defense and Coach Campbell is a run the ball and play strong defense type of coach. I don’t think he will want to throw the football up and down the field and focus on field position and ball control. Marshall usually a bowl caliber team and not a mid-major pushover like some teams. They have to run clock to have any chance to keep this game under twenty points and that should set up a strong play for the under. Marshall closed out the season going under the posted total in 3 straight games. College Football Prediction From Tony George:

Take Auburn (-7.5) over Baylor (3:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 5)

So, Auburn has a new head coach, and a new look team, as Alex Golesh brings his imported South Florida offense to the SEC this season and many of his star players at South Florida came with him including stud QB Byrum Brown. Last year Auburn played Baylor in Waco and won 38-24. I am not sold on Baylor’s QB DJ Lagway from Florida, who was very inconsistent there and turned the ball over a ton. More worrisome for Baylor is their defense which gave up 32 ppg last year and there are still question marks all over the place on that side of the ball.  I think Auburn will have much more consistency on offense with their QB and WR’s all who played together last season with over 40 ppg at So. Florida in a high-octane attack will be able to put up more points here and win by 10. College Football Prediction From Scott Rickenbach:

Take Villanova (-26.5) at Bucknell (6 p.m., Saturday Sept. 5)

Yes, this is an FCS match-up but it is one I like plenty and that is why you are reading about it here. I follow Philly area sports very closely as my family roots are there and I have been entrenched in the Philly sports scene all my life. As for this play, Villanova came into the season ranked as high as Top Five in the preseason FCS rankings. They blew a late lead at home versus William & Mary in an inexcusable loss. They did enjoy the surprising return of QB Pat McQuaide which will likely key another big season for the Wildcats. However, he had an unusually poor 4th quarter and all the eligibility questions were likely still a bother to him in terms of mental preparation for that game. It was only the day of the game that he found out he would be able to play in the game and he was announced as the starting QB about an hour before kickoff. I expect McQuaide and the Cats to be ready to respond big this week and they will take advantage of a Bucknell team that was down 28-0 at the half against Richmond last week! The fact that the Bucknell game ended 'only' 35-14 is helping to give us some line value here. The aggregate score of the last 4 meetings between these teams is Villanova 187, Bucknell 30. That works out to an average score of 47 to 7 and I expect another similar blowout here as Villanova is going to let out their frustration from last week's inexcusable loss. We're backing the Louisville Cardinals +7 on Sunday night as they battle the Ole Miss Rebels in the Music City Kickoff at Nissan Stadium in Nashville. Getting a full touchdown with Louisville on a neutral field gives us tremendous value in what projects to be a tight, hard-fought season opener. While the public tends to side with high-octane SEC offences early in the year, Louisville brings the exact physical profile needed to slow down Ole Miss' fast-tempo attack. The Cardinals return significant depth along their defensive front, allowing them to collapse the pocket without needing to blitz heavily and leave their cornerbacks exposed on islands. Take ‘Under’ 53.5 SMU vs. Florida State (7:30 p.m., Monday, Sept. 7) 

If you remember, these two teams met two years ago and it saw SMU rout this squad 42-16. There is no way FSU let's that happen here. FSU was lackluster against New Mexico State because they are focused on this game without a doubt and we think that the only way that FSU can keep this game remotely close to SMU is to play fantastic defense and to slow the pace of this game down. SMU also has to go on the road and face an FSU team after SMU has lost 80% of its rushing and 65% of its passing from last year and we think that SMU's offense could come out a little flat as well.  Hence, decent public fade as well as the public is on the Over, let's take the Under here.

MLB Prediction From Griffin Murphy:

Take N.Y. Yankees (-1.5) over Colorado (7 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 8)

The Yankees come into this game presently 78-60 on the season, 37-31 at Yankee Stadium, and now dealing with one of the worst teams in baseball. Colorado is 52-86 on the year, 25-47 on the road, and 28 in their last 10 games. Colorado is averaging 5.7 runs per game on the defensive side, which ranks them 29th in the MLB. New York is 7th in slugging %, 3rd when it comes to home runs, and 4th in stolen bases. We don't see how the Rockies' pitching will hang in this series and believe the Yankees completely dominate here. NFL Futures Prediction From Robert Ferringo:

Take Minnesota Vikings ‘Over’ 8.5 Wins (-120)

A lot of people aren’t sure about the Minnesota Vikings this year. They love the Bears. They love the Lions. But they aren’t sure about the Vikings They don’t know about Kyler Murray. ‘I just don’t know…” Well, I know. The Vikings are going to be GOOD. In fact, I like them to win the NFC North at +550. This team won nine games last year with a poo-poo platter of J.J. McCarthy, Max Brosmer and Carson Wentz at quarterback. That’s insane! Murray may never turn out to be the superstar that everyone expected him to be as a No. 1 pick in Arizona. But Arizona is the West Coast N.Y. Jets. That is an organization of losers. And despite that, Murray made a couple of Pro Bowls and took Arizona to the playoffs as an 11-win team in 2021. Murray had to deal with clown coaches like Kliff Kingsbury and Jon Gannon and frequently had an overmatched roster. Now he gets Jut Jefferson, Jordan Addison, T.J. Hockenson, a solid running game, and a Brian Flores-led defense. Oh, and Kevin O’Connell, who has revitalized the careers of guys like Sam Darnold and Daniel Jones in the past two years. I think Murray is going to be a revelation this year. He’s going to be really, really good and the Vikings are going to be a playoff team. This is an easy ‘over’ call. Detroit finished above .500 (9-8) last season but a ton of bad luck went against them. The Lions were just 2-5 in one score games played last year. They also recovered below 30% of total fumbles (offense and defense) which was just the 5th time overall any NFL team went below that mark over a full season since 1990. Detroit also had bad injury luck finishing dead last in adjusted games lost due to injury last season on defense. College Football Futures Prediction From Robert Ferringo:

Take Air Force ‘Over’ 7.5 Wins (+120)

I’m absolutely buying low on Troy Calhoun and the Falcons this year. Air Force is coming off a rare losing season. Even more, that’s two straight losing seasons for Air Force. The Falcons have only had a losing record three years in a row twice since 1980. The last time it happened was just before Calhoun took over. Air Force had three straight losing years in from 2004-2006. Calhoun stepped right in and led Air Force to nine wins in his first year on the job. Since then, he’s been below .500 in two straight seasons just twice (2012-13 and 2017-18). He rebounded to win 10 games in 2014 and 11 games in 2019. The Mountain West lost a bunch of good programs to the newly reconfigured Pac-12, watering down Air Force’s path to the MWC title. That will give them a significantly easier schedule this season. The Falcons had one of their worst-ever defenses last year. They brought back eight starters on that side of the ball and a little older, a little more experienced, and presumably a bit better. Liam Szarka should lead a potent offense and Air Force’s continuity is now an advantage in the era of the transfer portal. The Falcons get three of their first four games at home and their first two home games are at Nevada and Northern Illinois, two teams that went a combined 6-18 last year. Air Force also has UTEP (2-10) and San Jose State (3-9) on the schedule this year. They avoid Hawaii and get UNLV at home and there is clearly a path to a double-digit win season. I have Air Force at 9-3 in the regular season and I think they will make the MWC title game. I love the plus-money value on this pick and this is a must-play.
