World Cup Soccer Prediction From Doc's Sports:

Take Cape Verde (+140) over Saudi Arabia (8 p.m., Friday June 26) 

A win here would likely send Cape Verde through, after picking up a point apiece against heavyweights Spain and Uruguay in their first two Group H matches. Uruguay faces Spain in the final match, and they would need to win as a massive underdog and score a ton of goals, which seems unlikely. So, the spot is right there for the taking. Cape Verde was an unlikely participant in the knockouts entering the tournament, but they have shown incredible heart in draws against Span and Uruguay, the two sides everyone expected to go forward. The draw against Spain was one of the most unlikely in World Cup history. World Cup Soccer Prediction From Robert Ferringo:

Take Belgium (-2.5, +120) over New Zealand (11 p.m., Friday, June 26)

The new expanded field has been a big benefit to the power teams. It has expanded and watered-down the competition, giving them easier opponents and less threats in the group stage. The expanded field also expanded the knockouts, with eight third-place finishers advancing. That means it is really tough for halfway competent teams to not make the knockout rounds. Belgium hasn’t really been halfway competent. They are in third place in their group with two points behind two lackluster draws. This team looks old and impotent. I think they still have something left to say in this tournament, though, and I expect some more useful football from them with their backs against the wall. New Zealand is the lowest-ranked team at the tournament. They’ve given up five goals to a pair of offenses that are significantly less dangerous than Belgium and this NZ side lost a friendly 4-0 to Haiti earlier this month. I think Belgium gets three points and pulls back some pride after a putrid effort to open the tournament.
