I have gotten off to another brilliant start to the college basketball season! I am riding a streak of four straight winning nights for $2,710 in profit, and I don't plan on slowing down. I have six straight winning college hoops seasons, and over the last four years my clients have averaged $7,500 in profit for the season, so there is a lot of cash left to be had. I almost feel bad for Loyola here because they are about to lose by about 30. Duke embarrassed Michigan State on Tuesday. That is not a feeling Tom Izzo knows very well, and I'm sure his guys want to get that taste out of their mouths. They also struggled with Navy last week, and I think Izzo is going to go to the whip in this game. Last year Sparty had a tough two-game run that included their first loss of the year in early December. They came back to beat North Florida by 30. After an embarrassing loss to Miami in 2013, they bounced back with a 45-point win over Nicholls State. Same thing in 2012 when they started the year 0-2 and then won their next game by 35. The spread in this game against Loyola can't be high enough, and I would bet it up to 22. Michigan State is not nearly as good as they have been. But they are still too big and too strong for Loyola. I've gone 5-0 this year on my very best plays: my 8-Unit football picks. I am going for No. 6 in a row this weekend with another 8-Unit college football pick, and you don't want to miss it. Almost everyone who follows college football closely knows how tough of a year it's been for the Michigan Wolverines. The Wolverines were expected to take a big step forward this season under 4^th-year head coach Brady Hoke, but instead they've went two giant steps backwards. This line looks to be inflated due to the betting markets belief that this is a big game for the Wolverines because they are fighting for a post-season bowl bid. I'm not buying into any of that thinking as going to a no-name type of bowl game is almost an embarrassment for a football program like Michigan. Most of these players came to this school with dreams of one day playing in championship-type contests not some lesser bowl game. Even if the Wolverines players wanted to badly win this game, there's been no evidence all year that they can beat a decent team like a Maryland by this type of margin. Maryland has played arguably the toughest schedule in the Big Ten thus far as they are the only Big Ten team to have faced all three of the conference big boys currently (Wisconsin, Ohio State and Michigan State). The Terrapins have gone 3-0 in their other conference games overall, including hammering a Indiana team when the Hoosiers had their starting quarterback and were a formidable foe. Maryland also has knocked off Penn State and Iowa thus far, and overall their body of work looks much better than Michigan's. Michigan does have their eyes on one big game still to be played this year, and that's next week battle against their top rival Ohio State. Tulane has lost three of their last four games, and they are just 3-7 on the season. East Carolina also has revenge from last season, losing straight up in New Orleans. Take 'Over' 5.5 Chicago at Edmonton (7 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 22)
The Chicago Blackhawks and Edmonton Oilers have played in some high-scoring affairs over the last few seasons, and there's every reason to believe we'll see plenty of action again in Saturday night's contest. Chicago is getting an amazing 38 shots on goal per game, which is far and away the best mark in the league (second best team is Minnesota with 33). The Hawks, however, are only 15th in goals scored due to their uncharacteristically low shooting percentage. That will come back to historical levels, and we'll see plenty of goals from the team going forward. Edmonton's defense ranks 27th in the league, so they're not slowing anyone down this season. They do have the firepower offensively to keep up with the pace, though. Their young core has started to click, and when they're on, they are one of the deadliest team in the NHL. The problem has been consistency and doing it night in and night out. Miami has been very good as of late, but they are stepping into a hornet's nest this Sunday in Denver. The Broncos only mustered 7 points in an embarrassing loss to the Rams last week. I can assure you Manning and the Broncos will play much better this week offensively. Emmanuel Sanders and Julius Thomas were banged up last week, and their availability is unknown at this time. Having said that, Caldwell and Tamme are capable fill-ins if the starters can't go. Miami will be traveling across country after a last-minute loss in Detroit last week. This is a very tough spot for the Dolphins. The weather won't exactly be the kind of weather they see on "South Beach," and the change in elevation is significant as well. Denver wins this one by at least 10 points. The 49ers have back-to-back road wins over the Saints and Giants, and they are happy to be home. San Fran has gone 5-2 ATS in its last seven games. They have injury problems, but the next man up is stepping up for them. This is a solid locker room that has been to three straight NFC Title games. They are the opposite of the Redskins in that they have experience and a strong group of leaders. The Redskins are 1-6 ATS in their last seven games, and they are 3-8 ATS on the road. The 49ers should dominate this one, and I plan on dominating another football week. Arizona is starting to pull away in this division, and with this, and one more opportunity to play the Cards, Seattle has to take advantage of both games. The Seahawks won't let this game slip through their fingers. There is also a bit of revenge circulating around this contest. Arizona went in to Seattle last season and won. The Seahawks remember this, and they will not let it happen again. Seattle's running game has issues, mentally, and financially. All the backs are going to play with everything they have, either to show a different organization that they can fit in their scheme (Lynch) or that they can be the bell cow next season (Michael). With all the issues, and the drama facing the Seahawks, you would think that Vegas would lower this line, but no, and for good reason. Seattle wins this game by double-figures.
