The 27-year-old right-hander was recently called up to the major leagues, and he's made two big league starts for the Tigers in 2023. Faedo was solid in his last outing as he went 6 innings while allowing 3 earned runs, 5 hits and walks combined and he put up 7 strikeouts in the game. He faces off here against Washington left-hander Patrick Corbin in this one. The Tigers offense isn't good, but it's considerably better when it goes up against left-handers. Detroit as a team is hitting 91 points higher in OPS versus southpaws in 2023, ranking 20th in the league overall compared to ranking dead last when they are facing a right-handed pitcher. We saw the exact same thing last year from the Tigers as they posted a team OPS 93 points higher against LHP compared to RHP. Take Detroit to win this game. Luke Weaver is scheduled to pitch here Friday vs the Yankees, and the Yankees will be licking their chops to get to the young kid. Weaver pitched 5 1/3 innings, allowing seven hits, one walk, and one earned run while striking out six batters in Sunday's 3-1 loss to the Marlins, but allowing eight baserunners in under six innings is not a good look. He has a 6.26 ERA and 1.46 WHIP, which is not very good at all. The Yankees bats have turned around as of late, and as of writing this on Monday, May 15th, the Yankees have seen eight straight games go over the posted total. Great American Ballpark is one of the most hitter friendly parks in all of MLB, and we think there are a lot of runs by both sides here, as the Over is 6-0 in Reds last 6 during game 1 of a series. Take ‘Over’ Kansas City at Chicago White Sox (8 p.m., Friday, May 19)

If we get the expected pitching matchup of Zach Greinke against Mike Kopech, despite a pitch clock, this should be a three hours-plus ballgame because runs will be ample. At 39, Greinke (1-4, 5.01 ERA) is playing for a paycheck and love of the game, and Kansas City is one of the few teams that would even want to use such a pitcher. He relies on tricking opposing hitters, because his velocity has dropped so much and he has a 7.71 road ERA. Kopech at 27 should be in the prime of his career instead of 1-4 with a 5.74 ERA. Once a 100 MPH fastball pitcher, the velocity has dipped. He still strikes out a batter an inning, which is pretty common today, but his command is brutal with 28 walks in 42 1/3 innings. Opposing hitters have a .365 OBP and a slugging percentage of .529, thanks to 12 homers allowed in eight starts. And if either pitcher has a little bit of success, they are backed by bullpens that rank 27th (K.C.) and 29th (C.W.S.) in run prevention. Grab the OVER. Liverpool have had a few matches where they have broken out with a big scoresheet during this winning streak, and that is why we are getting a three-goal total here, but we don’t see that type of match being played here on Saturday. Let’s look for a low-scoring game between these two scuffling lineups on Saturday. The Indians are the second-lowest scoring team in the Majors at just 3.54 runs per game. They are hitting just .229 as a team and they are dead last in home runs and OPS. The Mets have scored three runs or fewer in nine of their last 13 games, and their lineup is a mess. Tanner Bibee has some sharp stuff. The youngster has allowed two runs or less in three of his four starts and has 22 strikeouts to just four walks. Max Scherzer has started to look like himself, shutting down Washington in his last start. If you kick out one bad start against the Tigers, he has only allowed four hits in his last three starts (13 innings). Look for both starters to control this game and for it stay ‘under’ the number, which should come in around 8.0 or 8.5.
