Free College Basketball Prediction From Jason Sharpe:
Take #738 San Diego State (-5.5) over Charleston (3:10 p.m., Thursday, March 16)
San Diego State has built a strong CBB program over the last 15 years, but this may be their best team yet, ranking 14th overall at Kenpom. The Aztecs will face off here against a Charleston team that's currently ranked 73rd in the Kenpom rankings. SDSU is well tested, having faced the 32nd hardest schedule in CBB this season and are 20-0 overall when facing a team like Charleston not ranked in the top 55. On the other side of things, Charleston has played an easy schedule this season, ranking 304th hardest in CBB. In fact, the Cougars haven't faced a team anywhere near as good as SDSU, and their highest ranked opponent was #46 ranked North Carolina, who they lost to by 16 points. Free College Basketball Prediction From Strike Point Sports:
Take #784 Michigan State (-2.5) over USC (12:15 p.m., Friday, March 17)
We’ll back the Spartans to open the second day of the tournament with a cover and win against a stout, but overrated, Trojan team. Tom Izzo has shown time and again that he does his best coaching jobs in the month of March. And for the struggles that his Spartans have on offense sometimes, they still shoot the three-point shot at over 40% as a team. If the USC defense has two issues, it’s defending the arc and rebounding their own glass. Michigan State is known for their toughness on the backboard, and that trend will continue as they advance past the first round. Free College Basketball Prediction From Doc's Sports:
Take #773 VCU (+4) over Saint Mary’s (2 p.m., Friday, March 17)
Just not as high on this Saint Mary’s team as others are. They got pounded by Gonzaga twice to finish out the regular and conference tournament seasons. Now they must face a strong VCU team that enters hot, having won 9 straight games. Only twice in those last 9 games has a team stayed withing single digits, and I feel that they will take this one down to the wire and easily covered the spread. VCU is 16-5 ATS in their last 21 NCAA Tournament games. Saint Mary’s is 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games against teams with a winning record. Do not miss out on Doc’s Sports NCAA Tournament opening weekend. We are expecting a monster week, and you can get all of the action by signing-up for a 7-day picks package from college basketball. Free College Basketball Prediction From Robert Ferringo:
Take #800 Gonzaga (-14.5) over Grand Canyon (7:30 p.m., Friday, March 17)
I am now 45-27 (62%) with my free plays in this space over the last 72 weeks. Let’s see if we can do it again. I’m buying Gonzaga right now. Unlike the last two seasons when they entered March as the clear-cut favorite to win the title, this team is going a bit under the radar. I don’t really understand it. This is still a Top 10 caliber team and a top three seed. The Bulldogs pulverized St. Mary’s in the WCC final, winning by 26, and they have shown a consistent ability to overwhelm overmatched opponents. That is exactly what Grand Canyon is. The Antelopes haven’t played a team from a major conference this year. They’ve lost by double-digits to such luminaries as Seattle and Tarleton State. And they just aren’t very good defensively. Maybe Grand Canyon can slow this game down and hang on for dear life against this number. I don’t think so, though. They’ve shot over 50 percent from the field in six straight games, and they shot 45-for-93 (48.3 percent) last week in their four conference tournament wins. I don’t expect them to continue at that clip. Gonzaga has won its opening tournament games by 21, 33, 38, 4, 20 and 16 points in the last six dances. I think they bury the needle in this one. Free College Basketball Prediction From Allen Eastman:
Take ‘Over’ 140.5 Kent State vs. Indiana (9:55 p.m., Friday, March 17)
I see a high-scoring game between these two teams. Both teams score over 75 points per game, and Kent State is coming off a MAC tournament championship win where they scored 93 points! The Golden Flashes have gone ‘over’ in four of their last five games. Indiana is 5-1 against the total in their last six games. Kent State is averaging 80.3 points per game in their last 10 games, and they have gone ‘over’ in five straight tournament games. The ‘over’ is 8-2 in Indiana’s last 10 games after a loss, and I see this one as a shootout. Play ‘over’. Free College Basketball Prediction From Raphael Esparza:
Take Highest Combined Points (First Round) Over 184.5 (-120)
We will see some overtime games, and we do have some teams that love to push the tempo. Gonzaga, Arizona, Memphis, and others can have us cash this prop. Should be interesting Thursday-Friday as I see a couple of games flirting with this number, and I will lay the -120 with the 184.5 total. Free College Basketball Prediction From Raphael Esparza:
Take PAC-12 Conference (+550) To Win The NCAA Tournament
Really like the way UCLA has played towards the end of the PAC-12 regular season, and I see their experience being huge in the month of March. Don't forget we will also get Arizona, which should be a (2) seed in the tournament, so getting +550 for both PAC-12 teams seem like a good wager. All we need is one of them getting to the Final Four, and then we can 'Hedge' our bet to guarantee us a winning wager. Free College Basketball Prediction From Doug Upstone:
Take Duke Blue Devils To Win The East Region (+750)
It took a long time to click, and there are still some ugly moments, but Duke is as hot as any team heading into the tournament. The Blue Devils have rattled off nine straight wins since losing road games to Miami and Virginia. More than anything, Duke has grown as freshmen Kyle Filipowski, Mark Mitchell and Dereck Lively II have all come together and followed the lead of guard Jeremy Roach, who is the catalyst. Besides how well Duke is playing, they are in an advantageous region in the East. Top-seeded Purdue might have won both Big Ten titles, but they have weaknesses and lack quickness. No. 2 Marquette can score, but the defense can be lacking, especially away from home. No. 4 Tennessee is the complete opposite of the Golden Eagles, all defense and no offense. And Kentucky or Kansas State will knock each other out and both have proven to have vulnerabilities.
