His opponent on the mound is Gavin Williams, and he has 17 walks in just over 29 innings of work. Take N.Y. Mets (-1.5) over Colorado (7 p.m., Friday, April 24)

I am now 135-91 (60%) with my newsletter plays over the last 225 weeks. The Mets are a train wreck. As of Wednesday, they have dumped 12 straight games and are in the midst of one of the worst losing streaks in franchise history. And that’s saying something for a franchise that’s been as bad as the Mets. They should almost accidentally win some games, though, as they aren’t as bad as their record (and this losing streak) suggests. Colorado has been kind of feisty. They took a split in a four-game series against the Dodgers last weekend. They are still the weaker side here, though. Michael Lorenzen will get the ball here for Colorado. He took a no decision in one of those wins over the Dodgers. Lorenzen has allowed 14 hits and 16 base runners in his last seven innings of work. Lorenzen has surrendered 22 runs in 22 innings so far this season and I think he’ll get hit again here. The Mets have won eight straight against the Rockies and Colorado is just 3-20 in its last 23 games against teams from the National League. The Mets should get a cheap win here.
