The Cowboy looks for 3 straight top play winners this week with his IC-5 Football Card, which is 48-36 (57%). IC has had a winning NFL season so far and comes off a 3-0 Monday NBA sweep for +$1000. Take L.A. Clippers -3.5 over Dallas (10:30 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 20)

Neither of these teams is in top form right now after both started off the season defying expectations to become two of the best ATS teams in the NBA. But this looks like a great spot for the Clippers to get back on the winning track. They played well enough to win in their last two matchups vs. Portland and at OKC, but the opponent played a bit better. They have had two days off to focus here. The Mavs have been horrible on the road at 2-11 on the season, and they are in the midst of one of the toughest road trips any NBA team will see this season. They had been one of the best bets in the NBA but have lost their last four ATS. The Clippers have had more time to regroup, and they have been able to do it at home, while the Nuggets have only one day off and should be road weary. I am going to make a strong holiday push with my college basketball service and look to wrap up 12 of 13 winning nonconference seasons. I see a potential 6-Unit Play Friday as well as a pair of big play spots on Saturday. Let's get after it before the Christmas break. As for this play, I think that LSU is going to be up for this game a lot more than they would've been when it was first placed on the schedule. Furman is a Top 25 team and that will definitely get the Tigers' attention. The Paladins have earned their ranking mainly on the back of their stunning win over Villanova. But as we have seen so far, Villanova isn't the same caliber of team this year. This Furman team needed double overtime to beat a terrible Western Carolina team. This team shoots an insane amount of 3-pointers (46 in their last game alone). But if the Tigers are able to shut them down on the perimeter, then Furman isn't going to be able to score consistently enough. LSU just went on the road and beat a better St. Mary's team that also likes to chuck it from deep. I think the Tigers will be too much on their home court, and they should throttle the overrated Paladins. This pick falls into one of my top NFL systems, and despite the Eagles victory over the Rams, I'm not sold on this Eagles team. The Rams were trending down heading into that match against the Eagles and Goff threw 2 interceptions while the Rams running game also had 2 fumbles. The Rams converted just 2 for 6 in the red zone against the Eagles which was also the difference in that game. Now the Eagles have to return home to the East Coast after playing on the West Coast against a Texans team that looks to move closer to clinching the AFC South. The Texans have allowed just 20.1 points per game this season which is 5th best in the NFL and the Texans have held opponents to rushing for just 89 yards per game against them on the road this season. The Texans are the superior team defensively here and the Eagles are just 1-5 ATS in their last 6 home games. The Eagles are also just 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games after a win. For the Cheez-It Bowl next Wednesday, we like the California Golden Bears in this spot as they are currently listed as a PK versus TCU. Look, these two teams combined to win just 13 games this season, and it wasn't until the very last game that TCU became bowl eligible. They needed to win their final two games against Baylor and Oklahoma State and did so on the strength of their solid defense. California however, has an offense that can put points on the board and because of that we believe they will be extra motivated to get this win and end what would have been an otherwise miserable season with a bowl victory. Look, Cal is in a good spot coming into this matchup as they are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games after allowing less than 100 yards rushing in their previous game, 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games on grass and 5-2-1 ATS in their last 8 non-conference games. Meanwhile, the Horned Frogs have been brutal in this spot as they are just 7-19 ATS in their last 26 games on grass, 3-9 ATS in their last 12 following an ATS win and 2-8 ATS vs. a team with a winning record. The line movement has gone the way of California and we believe they are the better team in this matchup and we believe that a win here would go along way in helping them take a step in the right direction for next seasons.
