We have been absolutely killing it on the diamond this summer, posting a +$8,800 MLB run while having the No. 1 MLB season in the country. Last week was yet another free play winner (Philadelphia over Miami on Friday) and we’ll see if we can keep this rush going into the second half of the year. As for this play, Texas has announced that they will be going with Martin Perez. I am just speculating, but I think that the Indians will go with Carlos Carrasco. Trevor Bauer and Corey Kluber were All-Stars, so they will likely get set back in the rotation. Carrasco is Cleveland’s next best starter and he hasn’t started since July 11, spinning one relief inning against the Yankees on July 15. He could use the work here and he has been solid since coming back from injury. In fact, if you kick out the one start he had on June 16 in which he got injured then since June 2 Carrasco is 5-0 with a 1.80 ERA and 37 strikeouts to just three walks. Perez has been, well, pathetic, this year. But he was sharp in his last start after coming back from injury, going seven innings and allowing just one run. He will have had extra rest for this start and I think he will be sharp against an Indians starting lineup that could still be resting its All-Star starters. I think this total will be high because after all this game is in Texas. But I see potential for both starters to have quality outings and that should help keep this one ‘under’. Take ‘Over’ 9.0 N.Y. Mets at N.Y. Yankees (1 p.m., Saturday, July 21)


This matchup is between Steven Matz (NYM) and Sonny Gray (NYY). I see a high-scoring game here in Yankees Stadium as Gray continues to struggle in his first full season in the Bronx. The oddsmakers have started setting Gray’s totals really high. So he is just 1-7 against the total in his last eight starts. But I think that the books will set this one around 9.0 against a feeble Mets lineup that is among the worst in the Majors. Gray has a 5.46 ERA on the season and his last three home starts have yielded a horrible 12.72 ERA going all the way back to May. For the season Gray’s ERA at home is 8.25. Steven Matz is quietly having a solid year for the Mets, posting just a 3.38 ERA. But he is one of the guys that have been rumored to be traded from New York in the coming weeks. One of the teams that he’s been rumored to be dealt to is the Yankees! I think that is a lot of pressure. Matz is also facing one of the best lineups in the league against left-handed pitching and I think that he will struggle against New York. Look for a high-scoring game here.
