Free NFL Futures Prediction From Robert Ferringo:
Take South Florida ‘Over’ 4.5 Wins (+100)
I think that Jeff Scott and the Bulls are going to take a big step up this season after going 3-18 straight up the last two years. In a way, rebuilding during the last two years – with COVID and all kinds of roster craziness – was a bit of a gift for Scott. Expectations and attention were both excessively low. And now that things are back to normal in the sport Scott is ready to field his first competitive team in Tampa. The Bulls have 18 starters back from last year, including 10 three-year starters, and they have one of the most experienced rosters in the league. They only went 2-10 SU last year, but this team was a lot more competitive than the record suggests. They played four games against Top 20 opponents (Florida, at BYU, Houston and Cincinnati) and they easily covered the spread in all four games. The average spread was USF +22 and the average margin of defeat was just over 14 points per game, including a seven-point loss at BYU. USF went 7-5 against the spread last season and I think they will be a potential moneymaker again this year. The Bulls landed transfer quarterback Gerry Bohanon, who led Baylor to 10 wins and a spot in the Big 12 championship game last year. That is a massive upgrade over the inexperienced arms that Scott was trotting out last season. South Florida’s schedule does them absolutely no favors. However, they have winnable home games against Howard, East Carolina, Tulane and SMU. Temple is the weakest team in the AAC and they are on USF’s slate as well. I see four wins out of that list of five games. That means all it will take is one upset to get over this bar. I like the upside of this veteran team and I think they will threaten bowl eligibility. Free College Football Prediction From Doug Upstone:
Take Wisconsin Badgers ‘Over’ 8.5 Wins
What is the difference between a 10-win season for Wisconsin or an 8-win season? Quarterback QB Graham Mertz and the offensive line. After an electric start to his career as the best quarterback recruit in Badger history, Mertz has settled in at above average with (Nebraska) Adrian Martinez tendencies. Maybe Mertz needs more help on the perimeter, yet his decision-making is too often questionable. If he’s as elite as projected, this has to be the year. After sending a revolving door of offensive linemen to the NFL, that’s not the case of late in Madison. The Wisconsin O-Line can still run over Rutgers and Illinois and put up 300 yards on the ground, but against the Big Ten upper echelon, that’s become an issue. The Wisky defense has eight starters back and should again be among the Top 10 in the country. There are three likely stumbling blocks to 2022, at Columbus, East Lansing and Iowa City. Even if Wisconsin fails at the latter two, they still win this wager. If you don’t have an account at Doc’s Sports sign up now and get $60 in free premium member picks click here. Free NFL Futures Prediction From Raphael Esparza:
Take New Orleans Saints To Make The Playoffs: Yes (+135)
We all know the New Orleans Saints will play outstanding team defense and I see their defense carrying them to some big NFL winners. Their offense will have the biggest question marks, but the Saints play in a questionable division as I'm not sold of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers running away with this division. If the Saints can get quality QB play and stay healthy on offense I see them competing to win the division or landing a Wild Card playoff berth. Free NFL Preseason Prediction From Jason Sharpe:
Take #108 Baltimore (-175) over Tennessee (7:30 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 11)
No NFL head coach takes the first week of the NFL preseason more seriously than Baltimore's John Harbaugh who comes into this game with an almost hard to believe 13-1 straight-up record in his opening game of the exhibition season and overall Harbaugh has posted an eye popping 40-12 record in all of preseason contests. It doesn't get much simpler than this. Take Baltimore on the moneyline in this game. If you don’t have an account at Doc’s Sports sign up now and get $60 in free premium member picks click here. Free MLB Prediction From Allen Eastman:
Take New York Mets (-1.5) over Philadelphia (7 p.m., Friday, Aug. 12)
These are two of the hottest teams in baseball! The Mets have won six straight and nine of their last 11 games. They are 20-7 in their last 27 games. I think that they will have the advantage in this game on the mound and that should help them to another win over the rival Phillies. Philadelphia is 40-19 in its last 59 games. They have won nine of 10 games and have a nice recent winning streak. That has come against a lot of weak teams like the Miami and Washington. The Mets are 10-2 in their last 12 games against left-handed starters and they are facing Ranger Suarez in this one. Take New York and Scherzer here. Free MLB Prediction From Arun Shiva:
Take N.Y. Yankees over Boston Red Sox (7 p.m., Friday, Aug. 12)
Something is off with Eovaldi, who was once again averaging just 94 mph on his fastball on Saturday as the Royals scored four runs off him, then walked it off against Garrett Whitlock in the ninth inning of the Red Sox’ 5-4 loss at Kauffman Stadium last week. He was averaging 97 mph on his signature heater for most of this year, but his velocity started dropping in June, when he was dealing with back and hip issues. He landed on the injured list retroactive to June 8 and didn’t return until July 15. Since then, his fastball has disappeared. Not only has the velocity decreased drastically, but the pitch itself has been less effective. He’s thrown 143 four-seam fastballs since coming off the injured list but has just seven swings-and-misses. We think the Yankees get to him Friday evening as a visit from the Bronx Bombers is not what the doctor ordered for Eovaldi, and the Yanks likely take this game. Free MLB Prediction From Doc's Sports:
Take San Francisco (-1.5) over Pittsburgh (10 p.m., Friday, Aug. 12)
San Francisco has established themselves has one of the elite teams in the league. Pittsburgh is hit and miss and we think this is a miss game for them. Look for the Giants, at home to score early and often against the Pirates and win this one going away. Do not miss out on Doc’s Sports weekend card featuring week 1 plays from NFL Preseason along with WNBA and MLB selections. We were perfect on our 8-unit plays last week and you can expect more of the same this weekend. Free MLB Prediction From Strike Point Sports:
Take San Diego (-1.5) over Washington (7 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 13)
This will be the second game back for Juan Soto so I think it won’t be as emotional or intense and he will be a little more settled in. Soto could have a big night because Anibal Sanchez is scheduled to pitch, and even though he was once was a reliable major league pitcher, father time catches up with us all. Sanchez has lost all 5 starts he has made this season allowing almost a run per inning and I think he will have a difficult time getting outs against San Diego’s lineup. Yu Darvish will be on the hill for the Padres and he has been in a nice grove lately. Darvish has allowed an average of 2 runs per start over his last 6 and I think he could yield even less against Washington’s revamped squad. Take San Diego in this matchup.
