NFL Survivor Pool Picks Week 17: Advice and Predictions
by Chris Vasile - 12/28/2021
We have reached the penultimate regular season week in the NFL, and the playoff picture is slowly starting to take shape. The Packers, Cowboys, Chiefs, and Bucs have all clinched their division and are gearing up for the playoffs, while the remaining 10 spots are up for grabs and could go to a handful of teams. This week, with survivor pools dwindling down, I will give my best choice for each game on the moneyline, which is similar to a survivor pool, but I just won’t rank them in any particular order. Good luck this week.
NFL Survivor Pool Picks Week 16: Advice and Predictions
by Chris Vasile - 12/21/2021
We are now down to just three weeks left in the regular season. And at this point, we have a new Super Bowl favorite, a new MVP favorite and a new last-place squad with the inside track for next year’s first overall pick. I know Week 15 has felt like a marathon. However, make no mistake about it, teams are in a sprint to the regular-season finish line, and there is plenty still left to play for. Good luck this week and Happy Holidays to you and yours.

“Yuck.” That was the first word I said when I saw this Week 15 card. As I slowly went through each one of the games, several other words came to mind, and not one of them was positive. This card stinks. You have some good opportunities on Thursday and Saturday, but the Sunday/Monday night card is one of the worst I’ve seen this year. Nonetheless, let’s try and make the best of it, but remember, if you don’t LOVE a play, don’t force it.
NFL Survivor Pool Picks Week 14: Advice and Predictions
by Chris Vasile - 12/8/2021
We are now coming close to the end of the NFL regular season. And with that means that your survivor pools are starting to slowly finish, and a champion is declared. I will continue to give you my best survivor selections through Week 18 of the season. However, by now, without using the garbage teams like Detroit or Houston, it’ll be tough to find teams you haven’t already used that you can trust.
NFL Survivor Pool Picks Week 13: Advice and Predictions
by Chris Vasile - 12/1/2021
If you’ve reached this point in the season and you’re still going strong in a Survivor Pool or Last Man Standing competition, I tip my cap to you. Not many people can correctly predict the winner of a single game 12 weeks in a row, but yet here you are, going strong and ready to take home the title. By now, I’m assuming all of the “good teams” have been used up. It’s time to start taking some risks and trusting the “middle tier” teams to help you win some money.

Before we get into the meat and potatoes of this article, I want to first wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. It’s important to pause and give thanks for what’s important in life, and that is your health, the health of your family and all the little things that we take for granted on a daily basis. It’s also important to understand that you should be giving thanks on a daily basis and not just when the calendar tells you to do so. But I digress. Enjoy gathering around and eating delicious food with your family and remember that all day football is the gravy on top, not the main entrée.
NFL Survivor Pool Picks Week 11: Advice and Predictions
by Chris Vasile - 11/17/2021
I’m starting to believe that momentum is not a real thing, especially in football. Teams who look great one week come out and play terribly the next, and the teams that were blown out come out and look like Super Bowl contenders. We saw a great example of that with the Cardinals and Niners last week, and we were on the wrong side of both contests. The most important thing to remember when handicapping football is that every week is a different beast and it should be treated as such.
NFL Survivor Pool Picks Week 10: Advice and Predictions
by Chris Vasile - 11/10/2021
Depending on what type of bettor you are – a favorite chaser or one who bets nothing but underdogs – Week 9 was either extremely profitable or a complete and unmitigated disaster. Several huge underdogs lost outright, including the Bills, Cowboys and Rams, and it was just one of those weeks where you have to shake your head, dust it off and try again. Here’s to hoping that Week 10 is a little bit more reasonable in terms of the results.
NFL Survivor Pool Picks Week 9: Advice and Predictions
by Chris Vasile - 11/3/2021
Let me start by saying that last week was about as bad a week as it gets for me in terms of the NFL. We could count the number of wins we had on one hand and because of that, we feel like we let you guys down and owe you an apology. So, I’m sorry. Let’s stay the course and be better than last week and learn from our mistakes so that we can make the next handful of weeks a very profitable one.
NFL Survivor Pool Picks Week 8: Advice and Predictions
by Chris Vasile - 10/26/2021
If the theme of Week 7 was “blowout,” what will Week 8 have in store for us? Well, for starters, the slate is more competitive from a game-by-game perspective, and there are only two teams on a bye, which gives us more action to take in. There are some really good games to watch such as the Thursday night game between Arizona and Green Bay and the Sunday night game between Dallas and Minnesota. Hopefully we will have more than one game that is decided by three points or less.

t’s incredible to think that we are nearly halfway through the 2021/22 NFL Season and yet we are so far away from understanding which teams are “legitimately good” and which teams are just pretenders. Don’t get me wrong, preseason favorites like Buffalo, Tampa Bay, Kansas City and Green Bay have played well enough to justify their ability and capability to win the Lombardi Trophy, but the only remaining unbeaten team is the Arizona Cardinals, who, are quite quickly becoming the “best team in the league” according to some.
NFL Survivor Pool Picks Week 6: Advice and Predictions
by Chris Vasile - 10/13/2021
We are through five weeks of the National Football League. And with that comes time for our yearly reminder at this point every season that teams who are bad are going to continue to be bad, and teams that are good are likely to face a bit of a regression, so don’t be trying to get too cute with your selections. Sure, the underdogs are having a great season for the most part, but that’s strictly against the spread. For the sake of the survivor pool, you need to find the absolute perfect spot to use an underdog to win outright, and those spots are very rare. Stay focused on the task at hand and let’s survive another week.
NFL Survivor Pool Picks Week 5: Advice and Predictions
by Chris Vasile - 10/6/2021
It was a rather rough week for most teams that should have won, like the Saints and Titans, while teams like the Bucs needed all 60-minutes to come away with the win. And teams like the Rams and Broncos, who were both 3-0 heading into their Week 4 games, lost, leaving the Arizona Cardinals as the lone unbeaten team remaining in the NFL. If you had the Cardinals as the only unbeaten team left after Week 4, congrats, you are the only one in the world with a working crystal ball.
NFL Survivor Pool Picks Week 4: Advice and Predictions
by Chris Vasile - 9/29/2021
Before Week 3 started, I prayed to the football and gambling gods to let this be an entertaining and profitable week of NFL football. Heck, if it even sucked half as bad as Week 2 did, I would take that because Week 2 was brutal. The football gods delivered, and we were treated to some stellar games like the Ravens/Lions ending, the Chiefs/Chargers power struggle, the Raiders/Dolphins seesaw affair, and the Packers/49ers contest.
NFL Survivor Pool Picks Week 3: Advice and Predictions
by Chris Vasile - 9/21/2021
There is no need to sugar-coat anything. The nine early games on Sunday stunk. They were extremely boring, and nothing worth noting happened. Thankfully, the four late afternoon games more than made up for it as we saw extremly high-scoring contests, missed field goals and a crazy comeback which resulted in an OT win. The Sunday-nighter capped the day with a thrilling affair between Kansas City and Baltimore, while the Monday Night contest was decent for around 30 minutes. Looking ahead to this week, we should have a much better slate of games throughout the day, and I’m looking forward to settling in for another 12 hours of football.
NFL Survivor Pool Picks Week 2: Advice and Predictions
by Chris Vasile - 9/15/2021
Week 1 of the National Football League delivered, and I couldn’t be more excited about what’s in store for the rest of the season. We did have some dud games like Philly/Atlanta, but we also had games like the Chiefs/Browns, and Ravens/Raiders that gave us action-packed 60 minutes of football with crazy endings. I gave you the Niners and Rams as my top-two selections for last week’s Survivor Pools, and both teams won. Let’s look to keep the winning roll going and survive another week.
NFL Survivor Pool Picks Week 1: Advice and Predictions
by Chris Vasile - 9/7/2021
Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the start of the 2021-22 NFL season. Starting on Thursday, there will be football on every week until the beginning of February, and I personally can’t wait for the NFL to get underway. Each year I talk myself into entering as many pools and contests as possible, and each year I come out with a new outlook on what worked well and what didn’t work at all. One of my favorite pools to enter is the survivor pools.
How to Win 2021 NFL Survivor Pool: Advice and Expert Strategy
by Chris Vasile - 9/6/2021
The return of college football this past weekend was tremendous. We were treated to some real electric games and some crazy finishes. If Week 1 of the NFL season is even half as crazy, we are going to be in for one hell of a season. The NFL kicks off its 2021/22 campaign with a Thursday Night showdown between “America’s Team” and the defending Super Bowl Champions. That’s right, it’s the Dallas Cowboys taking on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Raymond James Stadium. Kick-off is set for 8:20pm.
NFL Survivor Pool Picks and Advice: Week 17
by Chris Vasile - 12/29/2020
We have reached the final week of the NFL regular season, and there is still a lot left to play for. Starting at the bottom of the standings, the Jaguars and Jets have secured the Nos. 1 & 2 overall picks, respectively, for next year’s draft, but the remaining teams; Atlanta, Houston, Philadelphia, Cincinnati, Carolina, New York Giants, Detroit, and Denver; are all in play – depending on the results – to finish between No. 3 and No. 10.
NFL Survivor Pool Picks and Advice: Week 16
by Chris Vasile - 12/24/2020
I’ve touched on the subject of next year’s NFL Draft a few times over the last couple of weeks as we approach the regular-season finale in just one week’s time. I said how typical it would be of the Jets to go and do the one thing their fan base doesn’t want them to do; and that’s winning a football game and costing themselves a chance at drafting Clemson QB Trevor Lawrence with the first overall draft pick.
