Entering Week 15 of the 2025 NFL regular season, the playoff picture is beginning to take shape, and we’re just now starting to get a feel for which non-playoff teams have packed it in and which ones are playing their hearts out with nothing to lose.

Take the Washington Commanders, for example. After giving the Denver Broncos all they could handle in an overtime loss, they let J.J. McCarthy and the Minnesota Vikings beat them 31-0!

I mention the Commanders because they are matched up with the NFC East division rival New York Football Giants on Sunday afternoon, with betting odds of (+2.5).

You’re probably thinking “And?!” They just lost by 31. Why would we bet them at less than a field goal underdog on the road against a Giants team that plays hard and with confidence every week?

Well, we don’t necessarily have to do that. We can tease them through the key numbers of 3, 6, and 7 up to (+8.5).

What is a Teaser?

A teaser is a parlay where the bettor can shift the betting odds in their favor. The sportsbooks, of course, will adjust the payout. That’s okay, though. With the correct strategy, we can make a teaser almost every week of the regular season.

A teaser can be 4 points, 6 points, and on up into the double digits. You can also play a two-team teaser or a 10-team teaser.

The possibilities are a lot of fun, but we’re human, and they’re there to take advantage of our greed. We need a basic strategy.

What is a Basic Strategy Teaser?

The basic strategy is, first, to do, you guessed it, a two-team teaser. We also want to stick to six-point teasers and tease through not just to the key numbers of 3, 6, and 7 as we alluded to earlier.

A key number in this case essentially means one of the most frequent margins of victory you’ll see in an NFL game.

Therefore, if we want to tease a betting favorite down, we look for teams with betting odds of (-7.5) to (-8.5). After giving them 6 points, they are small favorites under a field goal, with odds of (-1.5) to (-2.5).

For underdogs, we do the inverse. Take a team like the Commanders, who are (+2.5) and take them up through 3,6, and 7 to big dogs of (+7.5) to (+8.5).

Now that we have our basic strategy to tease NFL games, let’s look at some potential Week 15 betting spots.

Potential NFL Week 15 Teaser Games

Cleveland Browns (+7.5) at Chicago Bears (-7.5) Total: 39

Right away, I like this one because of the low point total. The lower the total, the farther our 6 points can go. They count for more.

That being said, I actually like the Browns to cover this week, even though their only road win came in Las Vegas against, in my opinion, the worst team in the NFL.

I think they cover, but still lose. Caleb Williams has been one of the best QBs in the league at avoiding sacks this year. What a terrific matchup that will be as Myles Garrett chases the record for sacks in a season.

Baltimore Ravens (-2.5) at Cincinnati Bengals (+2.5) Total: 51.5

I can’t figure out the Ravens, and the more people I listen to, they can’t either. We also have a high total here, so it doesn’t make sense to include this game in our basic strategy teaser when we have a team like the Bears, whose total is much lower.

Washington Commanders (+2.5) at New York Giants (-2.5) Total: 47

I’ve heard some people who like the road dog Commanders this week, but I can’t get behind them after they got shut out.

Green Bay Packers (-2.5) at Denver Broncos (+2.5) Total: 42.5

Green Bay comes in here as the better team, yes. However, this game looks like it might be a defensive battle, and that’s perfect for us if we want to take the Broncos up to (+8.5) at home, where they remain undefeated, by the way.

Carolina Panthers (-2.5) at New Orleans Saints (+2.5) Total: 40.5

Both of these teams are playing inspired ball right now, and we have a low point total. If the Saints are down at halftime, though, we might see them take it easy down the stretch. A month ago, the Saints won 17-7 in Carolina.

Now, we’re getting them as home dogs up to (+8.5). It seems like a solid play, but I like a couple of other teams more.

The Browns have one road win against the worst team in the NFL, and Denver is undefeated at Mile High.
