Best NFL Teaser Bets Week 8: Basic Strategy Teasers

Raise your hand if you're up money in the green right now betting point spread in the NFL in 2025. Heck, include last year and the ones prior if you like as well. Only a few of us can say we've made a few bucks betting on the uber-athletic, ever-exciting, circus of weekly competitions we call football.
I'll bet point spreads until I start to struggle. Then, what do we do? We focus on the point totals, and after that has gotten stale or worse, we switch up to team totals or perhaps player props is your preference.
These are all great, but with all of these bets, we're trying to either beat the line movement or put our money up against the parity of the NFL, go all in with our stack against the most efficient betting markets.
Of course, you can win by making these bets. Plenty of professionals do it every week. Another bet the professionals make leverages the efficiency of the betting market and the unmatched parity of the NFL to work in their favor, rather than against them.
These are called teaser bets.

What is a Teaser?
A teaser is a type of parlay wager in which the bettor can manipulate the betting odds or line, and the sportsbook or casino will adjust the potential payout for a win.
There are many types of teasers. So, I don't want you to get confused or overwhelmed. Once you learn how easy it is to place a teaser bet, it's easy to get carried away, though. This is where you need a basic strategy to guide you to success betting teasers.
What is a Basic Strategy Teaser?
A basic strategy teaser is just two legs and only 6 points for each leg. Also, it has to be for two NFL games. College football will not work. Their point totals are too high, and so is the variance. Remember, we want to leverage the parity and competitiveness of the NFL to our advantage.
The basic strategy here is to tease not to but through the key numbers of 3, 6, and 7. A key number means a point differential or margin of victory that is more likely to happen than any other. For example, more NFL games end with a difference of 3 points than any other number.
To get those key numbers, we look for betting underdogs with odds of (+1.5) to (+2.5) and we tease them up past a field goal and above a touchdown to (+7.5) to (+8.5).
Inversely, if we want to tease a betting favorite down, we look for teams with odds of (-7.5) to (-8.5), and after the tease, we have them under a field at (-1.5) to (-2.5).
Potential Week 8 NFL Teaser Games
San Francisco 49ers (+1.5) at Houston Texans (-1.5) Total: 41.5
To tease this matchup, we would have to take the visiting San Francisco 49ers from (+1.5) to (+7.5). We are looking for a low point total if we can find one, because our 6 points count for more the lower the total score is.
Something has to give sometime soon, though, for the Niners. They’ve limped into week after week. My spidey sense says stay away from the Texans this week, especially playing a desperation game at home.
New York Giants (+7.5) at Philadelphia Eagles (-7.5) Total: 44
These two teams just played each other a few days ago, and the Giants kicked their butts. I do expect revenge here, but we may have better options as the Eagles are not an easy team to trust so far in 2025.
Miami Dolphins (+7.5) at Atlanta Falcons (-7.5) Total: 44.5
The Atlanta Falcons need this get-right game as they return home after losing to the 49ers. They're currently 3-3 and two games outside of a wild card spot. This is a mid-season must-win for the Falcons.
As for Miami, what else can we say? Tyreek Hill's smiling face while being carted off the field in excruciating pain says it all. This team made a huge mistake hiring Mike McDaniel, and apparently, the owner has yet to admit this to himself.
Buffalo Bills (-7.5) at Carolina Panthers (+7.5) Total: 46
The Carolina Panthers are above .500! Currently sitting at 4-3 and set to host the well-rested and highly ticked off Buffalo Bills on Sunday in Charlotte, the Panthers will be without their starting quarterback.
No fear, though, Andy Dalton is ready to take the ball and put it directly in the end zone. Granted, he's provided a spark in the past, but the 38-year-old has lost 9 out of his last 10 starts dating back to 2023, with his only victory coming against the lowly Las Vegas Raiders.
Week 8 Basic Strategy Teaser Pick
Buffalo Bills (-1.5) and Atlanta Falcons (-1.5): -120
