I bet you didn’t think you were going to see Drake Maye and Daniel Jones near the top of the betting board to win the 2025 NFL MVP Award. The former hasn’t played a full season in the NFL, and the latter has some of the most forgettable years to date for New York Giants fans.

Sometimes a change of scenery, or two, can be just what a player needs to reinvent themselves. The same goes for all humans, really. The power of an environmental change can be a lifesaver for people with an addiction and many others.

Not surprisingly, Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes are the betting favorites to win the award. Mahomes has won it twice, and Allen took home the award for the first time last season. As good as both quarterbacks can be, are they truly that much more valuable than someone like the Los Angeles Rams’ Matthew Stafford or the Buccaneers’ Baker Mayfield?

Heck, what about Lamar Jackson? His presence on the field can be worth double digits to the sportsbooks.

This isn’t a game of “should”, though, not the game we’re playing today. We can talk about idealism all day, but who actually has a realistic shot at winning the award and who doesn’t? Those are the questions we’ll tackle today in an attempt to put together the best bets possible to win the 2025 NFL MVP Award.

Betting Odds to Win 2025 NFL MVP

Patrick Mahomes: +140

He's still the cheat code, but at these betting odds, it's either bet solely on Mahomes or pass on the two-time winner. His odds will likely increase by the end of the year, so if he's your pick, keep an eye out as the season progresses.

Josh Allen: +375

Allen will need to double his success from the first half of the season to do enough to be considered as a potential back-to-back winner. I don't see it happening, so I'd stay away from betting on Allen.

Drake Maye: +450

The kid is incredible, but they’re not going to give it to a rookie.

Matthew Stafford: +1200

The future Hall of Famer is playing in his 17th season and putting together one of his best. He's due to win it.

Baker Mayfield: +1400

Mayfield is so much fun to watch, and the media wants to make him a superstar. If the Bucs could get healthy in the receiving corps, Baker isn’t a bad bet at 14-1 to win MVP.

Jonathan Taylor: +1500

A running back needs to have nearly a 2,000-yard season to win the MVP. He’s on pace for just about that, carrying a career-high 5.9 yards/carry into Week 9.

Daniel Jones: +1500

Jones has been nice, as we said, but he may split some votes with his teammate.

Jordan Love: +1600

Before the 2nd half of last week's game against the Steelers, I wouldn't have considered Love, but when he's on, he's on. He has taken much better care of the ball this season, throwing only 2 picks over 7 starts.

Jared Goff: +2000

Jared Goff is the facilitator, not the hero.

Jalen Hurts: +2800

Jalen Hurts should really get more love than 28-1, but remember that “should” is a bad word today. In general, it leads to suffering, but that’s another conversation.

Justin Herbert: +2800

Justin Herbert could still win this thing. With Joe Alt back protecting his blind side, this quarterback can be as effective as any other on a given day.

Dak Prescott: +5000

Dak Prescott doesn’t have the team behind him.

Sam Darnold: +5000

We saved the best for last, but it wasn’t on purpose. We just went down the betting board, and we just kept passing name after name with no mention of Sam Darnold.

What else does a guy have to do to get some respect around here?

The guy is almost averaging a first down per pass attempt. He’s leading the NFL with 9.1 yards/pass, which is outstanding. Also, look at how much the Vikings are struggling right now compared to how much more successful the Seattle Seahawks are this season.
