Georgia St had a difficult time last weekend against NC State as the Wolfpack defense held Georgia St to only 7 points. Friday night the Memphis Tigers defense will shut down the Panthers offense, and I see this game flying UNDER the total. Georgia St is 3-9 O/U in their last 12 road games, and the Panthers are 0-4 O/U following a loss. Two teams that have been trending to the over will meet when the Oklahoma Sooners hit the road to take on the Iowa St Cyclones at Jack Trice Stadium in Ames, IA, on Saturday afternoon. The Sooners have posted a perfect 4-0 record to the over in their last four games played in the month of September and they have gone an excellent 5-1 to the over in their last six games following a straight up win by 20 points or more. They have also gone over the number in eleven of their last sixteen games where they faced a team with a winning % of .500 or lower and they are an impressive 22-9 to the over in their last 31 games following an ATS loss. The Cyclones have been an over team as well in the spot they are in here on Saturday as they have gone over the total in four straight games following a game where they failed to cover the spread and they are 5-2 to the over after a game where they failed to score at least 20 points. Take #142 Michigan (-35.5) over SMU (3:30 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 15)

Looking to once again back the Michigan Wolverines as they are flying a little bit under the radar right now due in most part to their opening-week loss on national TV to Notre Dame. Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh and his troops took a beating from the media after that defeat and then came out last week afterwards and looked to have played with a big chip on their shoulder as they hammered in-state rival Western Michigan by a 49-3 score. You get the feeling Harbaugh is trying to build up the confidence of his fragile team right now before the hefty part of their schedule comes up later this season. The way for him to do that is for the Wolverines to dominate their lesser foes like they did last week. If you watched last weekend, Harbaugh had most of his starters in that game much later than normal for a game that was a blowout. Michigan will play an SMU squad here that's in a very tough spot going to play in the big house as the Mustangs are coming off an emotional Thursday Night nationally-televised game last week against TCU. SMU put a lot of energy in that one as a big underdog and ended up having a decent showing until collapsing late in the contest. Despite playing above expectations for that game, SMU still failed to cover the spread as this looks to be down year for the Mustangs. Take 'Under' 50.0 Cleveland at New Orleans (1 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 16)

It was two easy football free play wins last week, hitting my newsletter free play with Miami and then hitting my MNF video free play with a Jets-Raiders 'Under' teaser. I had an absolutely epic NFL Sunday, banking nearly +$2,600 in profit, and I am looking for even more this week behind an 8-Unit NFL Game of the Year Play. In terms of this free play, I think that the Saints defense is going to bounce back. Cleveland isn't going to be as aggressive going down the field as Tampa Bay was last week. And they don't have the overall talent on that side of the ball that the Bucs brought to the Superdome. On the other side, Cleveland's defense is a vastly improved unit. They only surrendered 21 points to a potent Pittsburgh offense. Yes, the weather was bad. But the Browns also played an extra 10 minutes. I expect New Orleans to settle back in, lean on their running game to try to keep the defense off the field, and try to play like they did last year. They only ran the ball 13 times against the Bucs, which is nuts. I also think the Browns are smart enough to know that their odds of winning a shootout with Drew Brees are pretty slim. So they will try to control the ball and the clock as well. I think that this number is high and I was expecting it around 47.5. Even then I still think this one is setting up for the 'under'. Take 'Under' 47.5 Detroit at San Francisco (4:30 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 16)

I have posted three straight winning football weeks, and I am going for No. 4 in a row this weekend. Don't miss out! I am getting the weekend going with a 7-Unit NFL Play on Thursday, and I am looking to have a big weekend at the window. I see this game between the Lions and 49ers going 'under' and being much lower scoring than the number suggests. San Francisco has not been scoring much this year in the regular season or in the preseason. Their offense has not been very good, and they only managed 16 points against the Vikings. The Lions offense has only scored 17 points in their first game against the Jets. That was a high-scoring game because the Jets scored 31 points in the third quarter. In that game there were two defensive touchdowns and there was a punt return touchdown. And outside of that 31-point quarter, there were only 34 combined points. The 'under' is 5-0 in the last five meetings between these two teams in San Francisco, and the 'under' is 9-1 in the last 10 meetings between these two teams overall. That is 9 of 10 going 'under' going all the way back to 1996. The 'under' is 24-11 in Detroit's last 35 road games and the 'under' is 10-3 in the Lions' last 13 games against a team with a losing record. The Cubs have hit just .216 lifetime as a team against Scherzer with an OBP of .267, and opponents have hit just .184 against him over his 17 starts at home this season. Scherzer has an ERA of just 1.69 over his 2 starts (16 innings) against the Cubs this season, and he has an ERA of just 2.12 over his last 10 starts with opponents hitting just .189 against him. The Cubs own a slight 9-7 edge against the Reds in the season series and need all the wins they can get as the Brewers and the Cardinals are right behind them in the standings. Chicago has won the last six matchups against Cincinnati, and I think they will take this matchup as well.
