Best Bets for NFL Win Totals

We're now just a little over three weeks away from the NFL Kickoff Game between the rival Dallas Cowboys and the defending Super Bowl Champion super team. Hangover or not, my money's on Philly—more on the Birds in a few.
Even with all the new ways to bet the NFL before the season even starts, over/under win totals remain the most popular method toward potential profit, while making your money last near to the new year.
Today, I want to share with you my best bets for NFL win totals. As you'll see as we go through them, they are all overs. This was not planned, and I'm well aware that unders are generally a sharper play, while overs can be fool's gold.
I had to go with value, though. The whales have already made their respective moves, and I just can't get behind (-200) for a win total of 17 regular season games.
There are several interesting spots, including a potential "bounce back" season from Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals, whose only loss by more than one score came against the eventual Super Bowl champs.
Can Dan Campbell and the Detroit Lions continue their regular season dominance without former offensive coordinator Ben Johnson? We'll also cover the improved Los Angeles Chargers, who are entering just their second year under head coach John Harbaugh. It feels like longer than that to me, as he is such a big name.
Let’s get after it, guys!

NFL Win Total Best Bets
Cincinnati Bengals Over 9.5 Wins: -125
The Bengals were a couple of bad calls and porous 4th quarter defensive mistakes away from going to the playoffs. Even with their typical slow start and Joe Burrow recovering from injury early in the season, the team still outscored their opponents by nearly 2 points per game and went 9-8.
All they have to do now is win one more game. The elephant in the room is edge rusher Trey Hendrickson. He has been the biggest producer of sacks in the league over the past two seasons and is currently in a contract holdout.
The articles I've read as of one hour ago say he's on the trading block. This isn't good for our over bet. However, Burrow is highly competitive, and he will pressure the front office to get more than draft picks. They have a Super Bowl-caliber offense. This team isn't that far away from being a contender.
Chicago Bears Over 8.5 Wins: +125
I absolutely love the Chicago Bears at this spot. They only need to secure 9 wins, and it pays at (+125)! We're getting this low total with plus money odds because of the strong division and the fact that the Bears only won 5 games last season.
Strength of schedule isn’t on our side here, but Caleb Williams may still have the highest ceiling of any other QB in his draft class. Add in the return of Pete Carroll and I’m all in on Daaa’ Bearss finishing the regular season above the water mark.
Detroit Lions Over 10.5 Wins: +120
Staying within the NFC North Division, we head north nearly to the Canadian border for a visit to the Motor City. They lost their coordinator but return most all of their key pieces on offense. The big one for me here is that last year's defense had more key injuries than any team in football, and they still won 15 games!
Los Angeles Chargers Over 9.5 Wins: -120
Our only bet with juice, and it's just (-120). The Chargers had a hole at wide receiver in 2024. Now the #1 scoring defense has an offense that can stretch the field, making room for Lass McConkey's underneath crossing routes.
Watch out for the Chargers in 2025. Justin Herbert remains one of the most underrated not just quarterbacks but players in the league.
New York Giants Over 5.5 Wins: +110
Yes, I know. The New York Giants were atrocious in 2024, and with both the head coach and GM likely losing their jobs if things go south early on, the G-Men had an incredible pass rush. Keep in mind, they were losing all the time.
Imagine if they took some leads into the second halves of games, and the edge rushers could truly pin their ears back. They have a couple of veteran options at quarterback. Let's hope Brian Daboll manages those egos well, especially the infamous attitude of Russell Wilson. They can get to 6 wins.
Philadelphia Eagles Over 11.5 Wins: +110
Finally, the Philadelphia Eagles made it look easy last year and appeared to improve from week to week since the halfway mark of the regular season. We all saw the Super Bowl.
This offensive line is legendary. They have the perfect quarterback for their system. Saquon Barkley ran for 2,000 yards last year.
Their secondary was incredible and young! Cooper DeJean is a problem. Maybe it's not the sharpest take in the drawer, but I'll take the (+110) for the Super Bowl Champs to get to 12 wins.
