NFL Confidence Pool Picks Week 13
I hope everyone enjoyed their holiday weekend. Last week was awesome as we had football almost every day of the week. I hope this week gave you guys time to fully dissect every game to make the best possible bets.
Some key takeaways that I was able to note from this previous week were that the Vikings meltdown against the Cowboys was a fluke. Kurt Cousins shocked me and played a stellar game against the stingy Patriots. That was the most exciting game of the week, in my opinion. Another key takeaway is that the Bills, Buccaneers, and Ravens have started to plateau and show small regression in their play, especially against inferior teams.
Furthermore, a new week of the NFL is in our near future. So, without further hesitation, here are our week 13 NFL confidence pool picks. As a reminder, these will be ranked from strongest to weakest. All picks are straight up and don’t involve the point spread, so these picks can be valuable for NFL survivor pools and moneyline betting.
Doc’s Sports offers NFL expert picks for every game on our NFL predictions page.
Philadelphia Eagles (-225) over Tennessee Titans: Worth 15 Points
The Eagles should win this game as they are by far the better team. I say it week after week, the only way the Titans can win a game is if they can get up early and control the game through the run game. The Eagles are by far one of the most explosive teams in the NFL. Look for them to dominate on both sides of the ball and force the Titans into a passing game. When the Titans have to run a passing scheme, they become a mediocre football team. On the other hand, their rushing attack is elite.
Dallas Cowboys (-520) over Indianapolis Colts: Worth 14 Points
The Cowboys walk away with the win here, no doubt. This team is a real Super Bowl contender. The Cowboys should have no problem handling this Colts team that is in need of some offensive firepower. This will allow the Cowboys to break away for a clear victory early if they can limit turnovers and get some stops. It will be tough for the Colts to keep up with the Cowboys, as the Cowboys will have a longer time to rest and prepare for this game. The Colts are coming off short rest, due to playing on Monday night. As we have seen, short rest can greatly affect play. The Boys win this one.
Minnesota Vikings (-158) over New York Jets: Worth 13 Points
This Vikings team is not a joke. They had a stellar performance against one of the best defenses in the NFL. The Patriots didn’t have an answer for Justin Jefferson. I expect the Vikings to win this game as there are many issues with the Jet’s offense, which more often than not is a disappointment. I expect Mike White to start this week for the Jets, as it looks like Zach Wilson is halfway out the door. The Jets have a good defense but will need to play a crisp game on offense to be able to come away with this game. However, that is very unlikely.
Cleveland Browns (-335) over Houston Texans: Worth 12 points
The Browns win here. The Texans are a sorry excuse for a professional football team. They will need a miracle to win this game. The Browns have an elite pass rush and are very good at the run. The best way to beat the Browns is to put up points in a hurry and force them to pass the ball. If you let them establish the run game and control the clock, they will walk away with a win against any team. Fade the Texans here.
Baltimore Ravens (-400) over Denver Broncos: Worth 11 Points
The Broncos have one of the worst offenses in the NFL They simply cannot score. I expect the Ravens to win this game here as it is a perfect get-back spot as they dropped a game to the Jaguars last week, which was truly upsetting to watch. The Broncos have a stingy defense, but it doesn’t help that can’t score on offense. They have enough weapons on offense to be dangerous, but they don’t use them the right way. Fade the Broncos.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-184) over New Orleans Saints: Worth 10 Points
The Buccaneers have not had the success that they had hoped for this season. However, they still have an insane amount of talent and discipline. I really like the Bucs in this spot as they are coming off a loss to the Browns in a game that they could have won. The Saints just finished getting shut out by the 49ers. The Bucs won the first meeting between these two back in September. Look for them to complete the sweep here in this divisional rivalry. Tom Brady should do more than enough here to get the job done.
Los Angeles Chargers (-126) over Las Vegas Raiders: Worth 9 Points
The Chargers have been doing very well since key players have returned from the injury list. The biggest factor in this game is the quality of offense that each team has played. The Chargers are a better offensive team. This offense has regained the ability to score, as Josh Palmer has emerged as one of the top receivers on the team. This matchup is usually pretty intense, and I can’t wait to watch it. I expect the Chargers to win this game, as the Raiders have been by far the most disappointing team this season. Fade the Raiders here.
Kansas City Chiefs (-134) over Cincinnati Bengals: Worth 8 Points
The Chiefs have an elite offense, while the Bengals have had their issues. The biggest difference between these two teams is the level of play between the offensive line. The Bengals have a horrible offensive line. We have seen Joe Borrow under consistent pressure this season. This should continue as the Chiefs have a good enough pass rush to continue putting that pressure on the Bengals. I expect the Chiefs to win this game as they can just cause absolute mayhem for teams when they are slinging the pigskin around the field. I trust Patrick Mahomes here.
Detroit Lions (+100) over Jacksonville Jaguars: Worth 7 points
The Lions will walk into this game on extended rest as they played on Thanksgiving Day. This is a huge plus, as rest is vital this late into the season. The Jaguars just finished taking a game away from the Ravens, which was a total shocker to me. The Lions showed us some good things these past two weeks, as they took down the Giants and gave the Bills a hard time. They almost walked away with a win last week. I expect the Lions to continue their surprisingly good play against the Jaguars, who I have completely written off.
Green Bay Packers (-188) over Chicago Bears: Worth 6 Points
The Packers will travel to Chicago to take on this Bears team that is trying to build on the success they have had this season. The Packers have been underwhelming this season as they have been really disappointing, but that can be expected when you let go of your top receiver and replace him with a bunch of unexperienced receivers. I still the trust the Packers to get the job done here as the Bears have dropped back-to-back games. The Bears lost by 21 to the Jets, who have honestly been a horror show on offense. I will fade them this week as the Packers have started to show some improvement as they competed with the Eagles this past week.
Washington Commanders (-134) over New York Giants: Worth 5 Points
The Commanders are 6-1 in their last 7 games. This is an impressive streak as they were forced to hand the ball over to Taylor Heinicke as Carson Wentz went down with an injury. The Commanders are short favorites here against the Giants, who have shown regression in their play, dropping two back-to-back games by more than a touchdown. Just right when I started to believe in the Giants, they started to disappoint. I expect the Commanders to keep this consistent play as they look to make a playoff run.
Seattle Seahawks (-375) over Los Angeles Rams: Worth 4 points
Since Cooper Kupp went down with an injury, the Rams have looked like a different team on offense. They struggle to show offensive explosiveness as they lost their top target. I doubt that they win this game, as the Seahawks have looked really good thus far. The Seahawks can score through the air and on the ground. The Rams defense is somewhat still effective, but it becomes difficult for them to continue effective defensive play when they have to be on the field quite frequently due to the offense being lousy. Fade the Rams here.
Miami Dolphins (+166) over San Francisco 49ers: Worth 3 Points
This is my hot take on this game: I think the Dolphins are by far a better team and they can absolutely play ball. This could potentially be a very high scoring game with many explosive plays. The amount of talent that both these offenses showcase is ridiculous. The Dolphins are by far a more explosive team. I expect them to turn this into a passing frenzy game. At times, the 49ers can struggle to keep up with fast paced offenses, as they play a bit slower. The Dolphins put up 30 in a half this past weekend and stopped scoring after that. I expect them to keep their foot on the gas this week as they will run into one of the biggest challenges of the season this weekend.
New England Patriots (+194) over Buffalo Bills: Worth 2 Points
I don’t like what I saw from the Bills this past weekend. Josh Allen hasn’t been very impressive since his elbow injury. There’s no doubt that the arm is still bothering him, as I saw many poorly thrown balls against the Lions. The Lions were able to almost come away with the win. I expect the Patriots defense to make it tough for Allen in this game. This is the first team this season that these divisional rivals meet. The Patriots should get some breathing room as Von Miller will be out this upcoming week. This will be another Patriots upset pick, as I am a big believer in this team.
Pittsburgh Steelers (-108) over Atlanta Falcons: Worth 1 point
The Steelers beat the Colts this past weekend. They played some really good defense and were able to put up a few scores early. This a true coin flip, as you never know which version of either team you are going to get. I’ll just pick the best defense, as both offenses aren’t consistent. The Falcons, however, have a terrible defense, so this game should go to the Steelers. I will continue to fade the Falcons this week.
